This bagel boy is very good. The bagels and food are very good and the prices are cheap. Worth it

Good sandwich and all, but $ 5.75 for a turkey, egg, and cheese on a roll? That’s one hell of a profit margin. Parking around there can be pesky.

I would not recommend the purchase of anything from this establishment. They are the most expensive in the area. I feel bad for the kids that spend their money here and ask for a bagel with butter and get a bagel with a paper thin stream of butter or cc. Then you get charged if you ask for extra butter or cc when in fact there is almost ZERO on there to begin with! The owner just died of a heart attack and now his wife is running the show and following in his footsteps. Take an extra 10 minutes and go to Sunrise Bagels in Belleville or Clifton Bagel in the strip mall at the end of Washington Ave. You will enjoy it more. Trust me!!! This place deserves ZERO stars!!!

Great Bagels, not sure why there is such a low score perhaps from when Mike was there(THEOLDOWNER). He was a bit silly with newbies(I thought he was funny) there are new people in here now that are very nice & they also hold longer hours too. Most of all. awesome bagels, try the french toast.

Terrible coffee. Rude owner. This place needs to shut down and make way for a business worth patronizing.

This place is grungy and gives off a bad vibe. When we first moved to Nutley, I was looking for a local mom & pop shop coffee shop to support our daily habit, and was hoping Bagel Boy would be it. But their coffee wasn’t good, and it took them 10 minutes to toast a muffin. None of it was worth the price.

The«new» owners are considerably more thankful for your business compared to the last bastard. He was always condescending to his patrons. This shop deserves your business now.

After patronizing Hot Bagels Abroad in Bloomfield and Clifton Bagels in… Clifton, I figured it was about time I found a bagel place in Nutley and support my hometown. I drive past Bagel Boy quite often. I stopped in to get a dozen bagels. $ 1.00 apiece with no break for a dozen, not even a bakers dozen. $ 12.00 for a dozen bagels? Hot Bagels Abroad charges $ 9.75 for a bakers dozen. The bagels are perfectly decent, though on the small side. Overpriced and undersized bagels will not make a regular customer of me.

Tried Bagel Boy for the first time on my way home this morning. This place is pretty expensive. I got a morning paper($ 2), two bagels with Taylor ham, egg, and cheese, and an order of fries. Almost $ 19? I don’t know, I’m not even factoring price into my review, but if that isn’t too pricey for you… The bagels are tiny and not too great. The wait was very long. Most irritating? The customer service. I was treated just fine, not like he noticed I was there aside from taking my order, but two girls walked in. They were volunteers for an event being staged at the school across the street. They said their order was short seventeen bagels. The counter guy(who I believe owns the play and runs it with his wife) argues with her, «How do I know you didn’t just take them out of the bag?» That was after the girl offered to go get them and bring them back for him to count them when it became clear he wasn’t going to help her out. Next Bagel Castro is saying no one has ever said their order has been off. I’m guessing he won’t be mentioning this the next time he pulls that one out of his back pocket. Finally, like pulling teeth, he gives the girl a ten dollar bill and says, «Next time you count the bagels before you leave,» like they were planning on coming back. The girls leave and he proceeds to talk smack about them behind their backs. This guy seems like a real little Richard. Sunrise Hot Bagels is down Franklin in Belleville, right at the corner of Joralemon across from the Dunkin Donuts and Signature Fitness by the liquor store. Go there instead.

Every time I’m here its at least a 10 minute experience. Doesn’t matter if I’m getting a sandwich or bagel with cream cheese… always a wait. The bagels are mediocre, though i do hold a very high standard to my bagel… this isn’t even in the ball park. A more efficient system(like any well managed bagel spot) is absolutely essential

Bagels are decent, but I have a problem I can’t get past. They scoop out all the bagel dough when they make sandwiches. I get why, to better accommodate the ridiculous amount of deli. But I know based on word of mouth that I am not the only one to feel it is disgusting. And more importantly, Bagel Boy, you are a bagel store and you are removing the BAGEL part of the sandwich! Some of the staff is also incapable of taking a phone order correctly. I wanted to like this place, kept giving it another chance. I think I am done.

Good to place to visit if you like to wait 20 minutes for a bacon, egg and cheese. The bagels are nothing special. Everything bagels have too much salt. You’re much better off going to Bagels Abroad in Bloomfield.

Got bagels here during Hurricane Sandy. I expected better. I could’ve probably done just as well at Dunkin Donuts… And we all know their bagels aren’t even decent. The parking here is tough and it just wouldn’t be worth my while to go back
