We explored the«Famous Nyack Street Fair» today & due to 50 degree temps, wind ‚& occasional rain, we ducked into the Broadway Bistro just by luck. Our bartender Kenny took excellent care of us(not always easy to find Honey Jack Daniels) & we got the chance to meet the owner John. My girlfriend & I shared the Pasta Pancake with shrimp app and a Caesar salad at the bar(excellent!). Can’t wait to go back !

Great find — I tried the 20.953 course lunch with salad, pasta and dessert. My husband had the lemon chicken and son had eggplant parm. Food were fresh. Great presentation and delicious tasting and good portion. We even had leftover to bring home — what a bargain. Service was outstanding. We will be back soon!

There are a lot of great restaurants in Nyack, and Broadway Bistro has quickly become a personal favorite of mine. The atmosphere is casual but classy, and while it’s a little bit noisy, it’s not enough to keep you from good conversation with your dinner companion. The menu is quite varied, with so many delicious sounding choices that it’s really quite difficult to choose! I especially like their fish/seafood options and can very enthusiastically recommend the sea scallops and shrimp with pancetta and butternut squash. Everything I’ve had here has been very good, including the cheesecake, so be sure to save room for dessert!

It was a little slow to get the meal, but for a Friday night, that’s to be expected. And the meal was totally worth it! The staff was all on point. I’d absolutely return.

Tried this out for restaurant week. Exceptional dining experience. The mushroom soup is outstanding– the Gorgonzola ravioli heavenly the Italian cod with mushroom risotto melted in your mouth you didn’t want it to end. And the sesame crusted tuna just cooked to perfection was phenomenal. Broadway Bistro has a great dessert selection which topped off the meal nicely. The ambience and servers were also great. So glad this is here can’t wait to come back. Nicky & Evan

I went to Broadway Bistro yesterday for the first time, and the food was great! I was not expecting the formal décor and environment but I didn’t mind. I ordered the Curried Chicken salad, which was unusual for me, but it was amazing! Would definitely recommend it.

You can never go wrong with broadway bistro. At the bistro the food is amazing, the the staff is welcoming and the setting is wonderful. I came here with my family last week and we loved everything about it, especially the rack of lamb we will be next weekend!!!

I came here a few weeks ago for an anniversary dinner. The place is incredibly small, and the tables for 2 were packed with sparkling water, restaurant week signs, and probably a number of other things we weren’t going to need. We started with the calimari and pasta pancake and came away disappointed. The calamari definitely wasn’t fresh(which isn’t uncommon these days) but it was quite rubbery. The big issue I had with this dish was the diavolo sauce that came with it; probably the worst sauce of it’s kind I have ever had. Truthfully tasted exactly like a marinara sauce mixed with Frank’s Red Hot Sauce. I’ll chalk it up to some sort of drunken mixture that 1 of the chefs thought would be a great idea like it was 2 Saturday’s ago at 3:30 am. The pasta pancake should have been much crisper as it was much more of a sauteed batch of angle hair than a pancake. The sauce it came with was quite sweet but there shrimps that came with it were decent. For entrees I had the house made gnocchi with the pesto cream sauce and my girlfriend had the cajun chicken penne they had on the prix-fixe menu. My dish was quite good but the sausage could have been presented a bit better as it was chopped up sloppily throughout the pasta and not evenly chopped what so ever; some of the pieces were inedible as well. My girlfriend wasn’t overly excited by her penne, but that is a pretty straight forward dish. We finished with the cheesecake which was quite good other than the soggy apple at the bottom of it. I don’t believe this was noted on the menu and I would of preferred a classic crunchy element to this, but that is definitely an opinion. The only reason I would recommend this place is because of our server. The guy was really just a pleasure from start to finish and was attentive throughout. This is a good place for a date night but definitely on the pricier side, and not worth it based on the food. I can’t trust an Italian place that puts out a diavolo sauce like that. I would of given this place 1 star but the dish our waiter recommended for me deserves another star, and the server himself definitely deserves 1 as well.

Found this place on Unilocal,so glad we did. Great meal all around. Mushroom ravioli, mushroom soup were outstanding. Rack of lamb was perfectly cooked, horseradish crusted grouper superb. Four of us shared one dessert(all are made in house), flourless white chocolate cake… OMG! Pleasant, attentive service. Do not live nearby, but will remember this place for future reference.

Visiting Nyack NY today. We stopped in to the Broadway bistro for lunch. My wife had Cod with mash potatoes and julienne vegetables that was simply delicious. She also had gorgonzola filled ravioli can get it any better than that? I had penne chicken with peas I ordered the tomato and mozzarella for an appetizer again well prepared and simply delicious. Service was outstanding. This fine food restaurant it’s a must try if you’re in the area.

Nyack is all about having favorite places to fall into whatever your mood or taste and tonight that spot was Broadway Bistro. This place is just the right size, always has a nice crowd buzz going on and the food & service make it a real fav for Mary and I. In case you forgot the drinks are well poured, the menu is always interesting and the food spectacular.

This place is pricey and for that I expect good food, but 2 out of the 3 dishes I ordered were subpar. As far as their calamari goes… I would skip it. Only certain places seem to understand how to cook squid properly so that it’s tender instead of chewy and rubbery. The flavors were also pretty bland… The shrimp was cooked nicely on the other hand, however, I found the pasta pancake not living up to expectation. The idea is interesting but the execution could be tweaked. For me the brown sauce was too sweet and didn’t round out the dish. The best thing I wound up having here were the sea scallops over polenta in a sherry tomato sauce. The scallops were perfectly portioned, buttery, and light atop the dense polenta cake, and the acidity in the sauce was a nice complement.

Been here many times but not since last winter, the big difference was the service. It was not as detailed as the staffs that worked there in the past. The food is always good but getting a glass of wine or coffee seemed to be an issue in getting them in a timely fashion. I am willing to write it off as a bad night and will be back again.

I’ve been here twice. The first time with my fiancé and the second time with her and her family. You just cant go wrong with the food at this place. Both times we were here, everyone tasted everyone else’s dish. So I’ve been here twice but have tasted 6 of their dishes. They are all amazing. My personal favorite is the halibut. The desserts are also delicious. And as a recent transplant from the city, it’s a very good value for the $$!

Nice little bistro — cordial wait staff — the calamari was softened well, yet I prefer a crispier batter — well executed beet salad — only slivers of lobster in the ravioli in a heavily seasoned cream sauce — their homemade ice cream in the profiteroles was the highlight of the meal — if I was in the neighborhood, I would probably stop in again!

We are locals and had been here when they first opened and decided to try it again. We came here on a rather busy recent Friday night and decided to sit at the bar since the tables were mostly full. The bar area is small but attractive, located at the very front of the restaurant with views of the downtown area. There is a very limited selection of beers on tap, which is disappointing. The bartender was friendly and accommodating, but in the end, the service was a little uneven. I ordered the grilled rib-eye steak and my girlfriend chose the eggplant parm. We also shared a caesar salad to start. They brought out some bread and a pesto dipping sauce. The sauce was fresh and tasty but the bread was unremarkable at best, which is never a good way to start a meal. The caesar salad was quite good, however. My steak entrée was tasty and cooked how I ordered it. But it was hardly a ‘grilled’ steak. It didn’t even seem broiled or pan-fried but looked to be more steamed than anything. It was accompanied by flavorful horseradish mashed potatoes and some fresh veggies. The big problem was with her eggplant parm. It was cold and my girlfriend had to send it back… something she very rarely does. The bartender informed us that they were going to make a brand new dish for her, since the cook was a ‘perfectionist’, so it would take a little while. When it finally arrived it was hot and she enjoyed it very much. Still, we ended up not dining ‘together’ as a result. Serving cold food is just inexcusable in a nice restaurant and really put a downer on the whole experience. On another side note, while we were waiting patiently for her second dinner to arrive, my girfriend ordered a refill on her soda. Under the circumstances, the very least they should have done was to not charge her for the refill of her soda. Well, they failed to do even the very least. If they are looking for perfection, there are several areas that need improvement. I see no compelling reason to return to Broadway Bistro.

Fantastic restaurant. Everything is wonderfully prepared. Very interesting interpretations on classic dishes such as grapes and bacon in the lobster ravioli sauce. Pork chop was fantastic.

Excellent food, excellent service, friendly warm atmosphere, great bartender and staff. The chef made my food exactly the way I ordered and that is no easy task because my stomach doesn’t react very well to a lot of things. I guess you could say I am a waiters worst nightmare. The first time I went, I spoke with the chef and gave him the long list of things I can and can’t eat, even down to some of the bizarre things like don’t toast the bread and no square dishes ! The second and third time I went, I didn’t have to say anything, John remembered everything! amazing! 5 stars each time! Great place to have great food. Mel Ann, Jane, Thomas, Victoria, and Ken are some of the names of the people I remember that severed me. All were exceptionally good and made me feel like I was eating at home. Mike

Broadway Bistro is a great addition to the Nyack dining scene, taking over the old Lanterna space and bringing a new twist on Italian cooking to Nyack. We’ve eaten there a few times and always had a great meal. The place is lovely, with a very small bar up front and then a more open seating area in the back. The service has been great — attentive without being intrusive, and very knowledgable about the dishes. We’re big fans of the food, particularly the«Crispy Angel Hair Pasta Pancake.» That’s not a misprint, that’s an actual dish. It’s like nothing I’ve ever had before. They take a batch of angel hair, pan fry it, add some beautifully cooked shrimp and what seems like a balsamic reduction, and serve it to you in a beautiful presentation. And it’s an appetizer that costs like $ 10. You absolutely have to get this. Seriously. You’ll thank me later. The other dishes have also been really good. I particularly like the terrine of parmigiana, which is a stack of chicken and eggplant parmigiana which is beautifully cooked and served. The pasta dishes have also been great. Definitely try it out, and get that pasta pancake if you want to taste happiness.
