This is probably the worst Thai food I’ve had. I always get a pad Thai when I go to new Thai restaurants because if you can’t get that right then the rest is probably not good. The pad Thai was bland and not spicy which I asked for. The satay was bland and the chicken was dry. The kao pad was not flavorful either. Thai has so many spices and flavors how can you make all of this bland. Very disappointed being that this place has good ratings. Go to the Thai place in orangeburg that is way more authentic. I’m pissed I just spend 33 $ on this crap. Updated I just called the restaurant and told them that my chicken tastes sour and rancid. She was very rude and said I don’t think you’re right, everyone here eats everything. I said ok but my food doesn’t take good at all. I told her I eat a lot of Thai food and this is not good at all. She then rushed me off the phone and said shes really busy and hung up on me. I was trying to get my money back. Unbelievable. If someone doesn’t like the food take it as constructive criticism and apologize and do what you can to keep that customer. This was my first time eating there. And I’m never going back.

One of two Thai restaurants located in rockland county, and they’re both located close to each other on Main street Nyack. King and I is a great location, right on the main strip of Nyack. Came here for lunch with friends, and we all ordered Pad thai. Pad thai is a pretty safe dish to go with since Thai restaurants really can’t mess that up, along with Thai iced tea. The prices were about 15 for entrée, along with 4 for tea. The service was very friendly, as the woman who served us seemed like the owner or family member. The décor and setup of the restaurant was old fashioned, and authentic. Many thai states, fixtures, and ornate furniture. The food was decently portioned, and very tasty. Next time, I would order a more adventurous dish before making a final opinion on this place. Overall, a good experience(and ten percent off with your Unilocal check in: P)

Let me start off by saying that it absolutely pains me to be writing a bad review because the hostess/waitress, who I’m assuming owns the place, was super sweet. The restaurant itself is cute and clean, but what I ordered was not that great. I had tofu pad Thai, what I normally get at any Thai restaurant. I have to say, it was not good :-(I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be good as soon as I saw the broccoli in it. Broccoli isn’t usually in pad Thai. The dish tasted sour, not rancid, just sour. I think it was because of vegetables that shouldn’t have been in it like, broccoli, red and green bell peppers, and zucchini. Oh well, I’m willing to go back to try other stuff on the menu because the lady was so nice.

Love this place! Been here many times. Best Thai place in rockland. I’ve tried all of the Thai food places even in westchester. This one is the best. Great for family also.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past, this restaurant is decorated to the nines in the vein of late 70s early 80s elegance(think Thai version of the décor in Goodfellas circa after Henry gets out of jail and starts selling coke). My expectations of my meal were on the low side due to my initial impression of the décor being outdated, but boy was I wrong. I had shrimp pad thai, which is my least favorite Thai dish, but it’s my safety dish in restaurants I’m suspicious of. I’m so glad I ordered it, because this was the best pad thai I’ve had in a restaurant. Ever. The portion was great, not too small and not too large. The noodles were very delicate and not over cooked, and the accompaniments(crushed peanuts, egg, spring onion, cilantro, bean sprouts, and carrots) were served in perfect ratios to the noodles and shrimp. As I ate my lunch the décor grew on me and I left the restaurant thinking two faux stone pillars displaying flake floral arrangements in a bathroom is totally normal and tasteful. I should also add that service was amazingly warm and attentive. Five stars for five star pad thai!

Food was good, Ped Choo chee was excellent, also the sticky rice dessert. But they don’t except the Unilocal discount offer.

Came here for an early dinner Saturday evening. The restaurant is decorated with items from Thailand, and the ambiance is pleasant. The lighting was especially good for taking food photos. I only saw one person working the entire time I was there. I feel like she’s plays the role of hostess, waitress, and chef. I ordered the karee(curry) puffs as an appetizer. They were very hot and flaky, without being too greasy. They had a potato filling that was more sweet than spicy. For my entrée, I had the Ped Choo Chee, half of a duck served flambé in a coconut curry sauce. The presentation was awesome. The flames were extinguished from the sizzling plate using the coconut curry sauce. The duck was deboned very well, which is great since dealing with bones are the worst part about ordering duck. The sauce was mildly spicy though I had requested it very spicy. Overall, my meal was enjoyable and I would return.

Best jewel in Nyack. The food is super fresh and delicious. Also the owners/chefs/staff(all the same I think) are really sweet. Go here and be happy.

I happened to be visiting and checking out the lovely state park nearby. We decided to stop by for an early dinner. While I’ve tried many Thai places in many different cities, I’d say this one makes it in the top 5. One way to vet a restaurant’s quality and taste is to order the basic dish. In this case, we chose pad thai and a few other entrees. They were all very delicious! Service was good even a bit slow, but since we weren’t in a hurry, it was fine. Prices are comparable or even pricier than Thai restos in Manhattan. Given the quality and taste, that’s fine! This is my go-to place if I’m ever in the area again.

It has been quite some time since we have been to the King and I and are happy we tried it. Quaint décor, relatively quiet and great ambience in the front room over looking the street. The soup Tom Yum Goong to start with with was smooth yet spicy and gave you the warm and fuzzies on a cold winter night. The main dishes PADPIKKING and GANGDANG were just the right amount of everything. Our martinis were over the top awesome. We will definitely be back.

I’ve been here once and never came back due to the food not being memorable. Although the staff was attentive & friendly, the food didn’t make an impression on me, considering it was my 2nd time having so called Thai food. It tasted like chinese food to me, hence I’ve never returned. It looks like I have to go to NYC to experience authentic Thai. I wouldn’t mind paying $$ for close to authentic Thai dishes, but not here(again) since the money I’ve spent could’ve gone towards the chinese take-outs I like to order from.

The best Thai food in Rockland!!! Me and my family LOVE going to King&I. Everything they serve is delicious! Its very relaxing there and Pom, the hostess, is just great, such a friendly women! Some times we also use their delivery services. The food always arrives quick and hot. Craving some Thai food? Go there, you will not regret.

I have always gone to Thai House as a Thai standard in Rockland County, but they don’t take reservations and it was totally packed tonight(Friday). We decided on King & I as an alternative, which I’ve always seen but never gone in. We were all very happy with our dishes – including Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Pad See Eew and Tiger Cries(steak). The service was prompt and friendly, and even though the prices were a little higher than average, I used a 10% off deal from Unilocal

First off, this place is not closed. I was here in January 2013 and they were most certainly still open for business. Don’t be fooled! Aside from the obnoxious banter of the Rockland mothers at the table nearest to me, my recent visit to King and I was a pleasant one! Friendly waitstaff, quick service, and a clean restaurant. All great starting points for me. Walked in for the lunch special as I do with most restaurants. I would say flavor-wise the food is about up to par with most thai restaurants. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary but sometimes that’s a good thing. I was just glad to be able to sit down for a reasonably priced lunch in Nyack. Would probably return again.

A real hidden gem in Nyack. Great Thai food, spicy to taste but not too much to ruin the flavors. The soups are great starters, awesome seafood and chicken! Service is fast, friendly and professional. Great cocktails… Try the Thai Slammer, but bring a designated driver!

Caught between 2 and 3 stars, but I’ll be generous this time. Good for when you want the white man’s version of Thai food. Anything that says spicy is not very spicy at all(this coming from someone who doesn’t handle too much spice). Everything is too sweet, except for the Thai ice tea. That wasn’t very sweet, and could stand to have a little more milk. The stars were not owned for the food, it is for the ambiance. It is such a nice looking place, with charming utensils, nice décor, pretty plates… I even liked the umbrella in the straw of my drink! If the food was better, I would give them more stars, but as it is, it is an average Thai place for white people who like bland food to eat.
