My family and I(myself, husband and our three young children) visited McGurks in O’Fallon for the first time, recently. We have been to the Soulard location numerous times and love it, so had high expectations. While the experience was different, it didn’t disappoint! The staff were very attentive and caring– my two year old fell off his booster seat onto the floor and three staff members, including the manager came over to check on him and brought him an ice pack(thankfully, he was fine– it gave him a fright more than anything!). Our food did take quite a long time to arrive(longer than expected, especially since it wasn’t busy) — BUT to apologize for the wait, the manager brought my children ice cream and my husband and I a slice of really delicious cheesecake. We actually hadn’t even complained about the wait– the exceptional service recovery was entirely that of our server and the manager on duty. Based on their kindness and level of service, in addition to the quality of the food, we will definitely recommend this place!

Service pleasant but not overly attentive. Had Chicken with spinach and artichokes over mashed potatoes was good but not very warm. Decent wine selection. My friend had a burger that was big and juicy. Can’t really see the sports tvs well from the back booths; however, they were good for conversation. The patio looked like the happening place to be.

The bangers and mash are very good and even better washed down with their black and tan! McGurk’s pours by far, the best one. I’m look forward to going back.

I enjoy McGurk’s in all aspects over the many years I have been coming. From numerous Birthday parties to a relaxing evening on the patio to a nice lunch after church with the whole family!!! You can always count on great service, an awesome historic atmosphere, cold beer and excellent food!!!

My wife and I along with two other couples enjoyed a New Years Eve dinner here on December 31st. Our reservations were for 6:30pm and we were seated promptly. Two diners enjoyed corned beef and cabbage, another had tilapia, my wife had beef medallions, and I had the potato-crusted salmon. Everyone agreed their meal was between good and excellent except I didn’t enjoy the salmon. I almost always enjoy salmon but the flavors and textures didn’t go together well on this creation. A couple of diners commented that food didn’t arrive hot and one sent hers back. Given this was a New Years Eve crowd though, we allowed that everything wasn’t going to be perfect and the almost entirely enjoyed dinners mean we’ll be back. Our server was Brenna, who was very good and gladly addressed the couple of issues we had. We’d enjoy being at one of her tables again.

Love this place! Great atmosphere and terrific food. Their patio is absolutely gorgeous as well! LOVE the cookies they bring out along with your check… soo good. Just wish you didn’t always have to remind the server’s to do so.

Great place, outstanding patio. Dropped by last night for supper; delicious as always. I almost always get the burger, which is consistently juicy and cooked as ordered. My wife usually gets the chicken sandwich, which she really enjoys. Sometimes we move beyond sandwiches and get entrees, which we also enjoy. Great steak, corned beef and cabbage, and fish and chips. Service friendly and efficient. One of the better restaurants in St Charles County.

They pour a great Guinness and the burgers are pretty tasty. Totally dig the décor and atmosphere. Question: Will the menu ever be expanded? You’ve got a kitchen, gang. Use it!

Some of the entrees were good but the service was awful. I requested tomatoes be left off, the waitress repeated it back. Then brought it with tomatoes. No big deal. What was a big deal is that she said she hadn’t heard me, that she hadn’t written it down and that since there weren’t that many, I could just pick them off. In the grand scheme of things, bad service is not that big of a deal but you can get good food, lower prices and friendly service somewhere else. Which is what I will do next time.

A lovely Irish pub with delightful food. I ordered the fish and replaced the chips with a salad. The fish came out in 3 small batter dipped filets. They were crunchy and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, my salad was drowned in ranch dressing. The lettuces was soggy because of all of the dressing. I guess I should of asked for the dressing on the side. The carrot cake was delicious except I could of done without the raspberry sauce they had swiped across the plate for decoration. They had a lovely patio that offered beautiful seating.

This was a great treat after a long night of partying. We walked, since we were a bit too tipsy to drive, and were greeted by a friendly staff with traditional McGurk’s quality drinks and food. Will definitely go again.

I LOVE McGurks! Great pastor in the summer time. My boyfriend and I come frequently for the appetizers, the crab cakes are delicious along with the spinach artichoke ravioli! The sauce on the ravioli is amazing! They have great dinner specials as well.

WoW… some of the best pub food that I have ever had! Gruyère Au Gratin Potatoes and Lentils(although not a big fan of lentils) and Double Cut Pork Chop(although the bone was black, the meat was nicely cooked)…whatttt. Nice to know that this is in my neighborhood. Good food, good drinks and good service with a smile. Way to go. I will return. Oh, and they have a decent Happy Hour that runs till 6 pm most days.

While a little difficult to find for a non-local, and even more difficult to determine if they’re open, this place is a great little«hidden gem.» The servers were all very nice and helpful and the service was quick and efficient. The food portions are generous and while slightly under-seasoned for my taste, I understand you had to cook for«the masses.» I had a chicken dish that was very filling and also a little unique. The combination of fresh vegetables and fresh seasoning in the chicken made for a filling and tasty meal that was priced very reasonably. I definitely recommend.

I almost hate to give a review of McGurk’s Public House after a Sunday lunch. This is a pub and ideally should be visited at night. Unfortunately, though, it’s too close to Kansas for us to visit regularly, so it’ll have to do. The good news is we had a nice meal with good service. We brought my mom and aunt, who bother ordered and absolutely raved about the reuben. Best ever? Well maybe. I had a taste and it was excellent. The corned beef was obviously slow-roasted and I’m getting hungry again thinking about it. I got the Guinness stew. It was good, but I’ve had better(only once, though). My wife had a burger and fries, which came medium-well as ordered, but was still very juicy, so props for that accomplishment. Another shout out for the fries — we asked for them«crispy» and they were absolutely amazing. And now a dining tip: unless you eat a ton, you can split the reuben with a friend or loved one — it’s a huge plate of food. If we lived closer, we’d definitely be back. Probably at the proper time of day. Then again, I could envision a proper Irishman having a Guiness before lunch, so nevermind.

Came here when I was in town for the holidays… I was very impressed with the food — far more than I ever thought I would be. I couldn’t make up my mind between Salad, Scallops or Crab Cakes so I got all three. That was a big mistake, but a good one! Their scallop appetizer(pictured) is HUGE, filling and sooo delicious! We also ordered Wine… fairly decent list with VERY reasonable prices. I will return next time I’m home!
