The Coffee is amazing and the Gluten free waffles are, hands down, the best I’ve ever had.

Kiwon Café is a really wonderful neighbourhood diner. Delicious gluten-free fare and well-pulled espresso shots make this location shine, but it’s best feature is the amazing service offered by the woman who runs the joint.

The food I received wasn’t what was on the menu. My mocha was terribly sweet but the service was good, except that both owners came to ask me what I thought of the meal– even when I was clearly busy with headphones on. They must know business is slow. Some people came in and left while I was sitting there catching free wi-if. I didn’t try the waffles, I had a turkey club. There was cheddar cheese instead of pepper jack. No mineral salt, grilled onions? As if it wasn’t bad enough they used square(not thick cut) thin packaged meat, the sandwich fell apart in my hands– I ate as much as I could because I felt bad. The husband asked me why I didn’t eat my sandwich– come on dude. Look, I read the review of the woman who didn’t get her espresso and the owner threw her out! I’m too lazy to cook, but $ 11 wasn’t worth what I ate. Rather get food at McQueens & a hot toddy.

Great little place. Made my coffee just how I like it. Plus the food is all cooked right there, nothing pre-made. The cheese and hand sandwich was covered in avocado, grilled onions, grilled peppers, & slices of whole cooked ham. Not processed meat. So good.

Best tummy safe comfort food! And the couple who own and run the place are so sweet and wonderful, it felt like visiting my grandparents and that delightful feeling of someone lovingly creating every bite taken. I can’t wait to go back and try the Cranberry Pear waffle and the Ham n Cheese waffle! I am so excited to try the sandwiches too!

Stumbled upon is place to get out of a surprise rain shower while walking the neighborhood. What a lovely find! Everything is gluten free(but my non-gf husband still loved his sandwich) and a lot is made in house(chocolate sauce, vegan cream cheese sauce, etc). They’re very accommodating to other sensitivities too with various options plus ingredient lists are on hand. My husband had the grilled turkey sandwich and it was amazing. I had the grilled cheese and added some grilled onions etc that fell out of his sandwich. ;) It was kinda greasy but it was olive oil so it’s all good! We got a hot chocolate to go and it was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu! Also, the couple was very sweet and welcoming.

Kiwan Café Rio is a very cute Gluten-free café hidden away in downtown Oak Grove. I stumbled on this place a few weeks ago. I don’t normally eat gluten-free, but when I saw the delicious-looking waffles they were serving, I had to try it. The waffles rancheros and the waffles with eggs and veggies are really delicious. You wouldn’t guess they were GF. Breakfast is served all day until close at 6PM. Besides waffles they have homemade soup, grilled sandwiches, and a chalkboard full of specialty drinks. The owners do all the cooking and are friendly and welcoming. The whole experience is a joy. They make their own ice cream — wonderful! They have a full coffee menu, smoothies, and a chalkboard full of specialty drinks. Since I discovered this café, I’ve returned several times for the waffles. I’ve brought several of my friends here — they all love it. Check it out sometime — and definitely try the homemade ice cream.

Words can’t describe how impressed I was with this place. It get so old having to ask questions when I go somewhere with my wheat allergy. Here I don’t I have to ask any questions! Everything is safe! My bf was even impressed and he isn’t gluten free. I highly recommend eating here!

The ham and cheese grilled sandwich is freaking awesome! Very filling and tasty. Nice mom and pop place. Extremely surprised this place isn’t packed. A great find! Gluten free to boot. Home made ice cream is delicious.

The idea is great… but the food is not. My husband and I were excited about going to a new place & decided to try this tiny café. First off, it was soooo hot in this little space. I could’ve looked past that if the food was good though. I ordered a grilled cheese & got an oil-soaked, cheese-topped, couple slices of bread. I got the lentil soup & could not even eat it, as there was no taste & a funky smell that reminded me of gym socks. I have no idea how these things could’ve gone this wrong. My husband ordered an apple cinnamon waffle & fared slightly better. It was not served as in the various pictures lining the walls. I should have known when I saw the pics that it was a bad idea. The couple is very nice & I hate to leave a bad review, but the food is terrible. I hope that maybe some changes can be made so that this small business can survive.

A bit of a language barrier. I had an iced tea and I was in the neighborhood on some super secret business so I went by here a few times hunting for treasure(geocaching). I preferred the prior business. Was it Oak Grove Coffee House? This was okay, just nothing special. Also I gave the gluten free muffins a squeeze test… they were a little rocky. It’s cute and cozy just kinda a menu that I don’t love and prices that were a little high for my taste.

I’m happy they moved in near my office. I love that I can sneak over there between patients and grab a delicious cappuccino! The owners are friendly and seem happy to see me. I always leave with a smile.

This place has such a cozy, welcoming vibe and beyond amazing food! It really feels like you’re having brunch at a family member’s house. The owners take such pride in their business, and everything is A+. All the ingredients are fresh, healthy, and gluten free. The Orange juice is by far my favorite drink here. It tastes like what Orange juice is supposed to taste like! The portions are big, so there is no way you’ll leave hungry! Overall, this café is amazing, and I cannot wait to tell everyone I know about it. My husband and I will definitely be regulars here!

I am so happy and stumbled across this place a few weeks ago when I was doing a long run. I was low on water, saw there was a coffee shop in this tiny town, walked in and asked if they would refill my water bottle. The lady behind the counter seemed genuinely pleased to do this for me. I saw 4 customers at one small table(there are only three small tables in the establishment) and they encouraged me to return. Now, a few weeks later, I have tasted the Waffle Ranchero.(And glad I ran 10 miles this morning, because that dish is huge!). I like it quite well, and give it eight out of 10 stars. The true delight for me is the excellent black tea: loose leaf, organic, strong, flavorful. And the lady at the counter even put up with my attempt at speaking Spanish. I would be spending a lot of time here if I lived closer. Do you know how hard it is to find a place with the music or conversations aren’t too loud??? No one ordered espresso while I was sitting inside, so I can’t vouch for how loud it is when that machine runs. Oh… And it is all gluten free! I don’t need to worry about that, and all I care about is that it tastes good. But it is worth noting that they do care deeply about this.

So unfortunate that I can’t even go to my neighborhood coffee shop. On my visit today I ordered two iced triple espressos. I was charged 8.00– which I thought was high(considering I usually pay 2.25−3.00) so I asked for clarification I what I ordered. After a weird explanation that didn’t line up with what the menu says, I just nodded and paid the 8 bucks so I could just get my coffee. I specially asked for no water…“just three shots over ice”. When I was handed my triple shots they clearly had tons of water. When I asked about the water again– she kicked me out! She said«you and me are done» and returned money. But she shorted me two bucks so I had to argue with her about that. I have never been treated so poorly, especially by an OWNER!

I have been wanting to try this place forever. Today was the day. I went for lunch and ordered a grilled ham and cheese sandwich and fresh apple juice. The place is small and the owners seem very nice and attentive. I didn’t have to wait long and the sandwich was wonderful. This is much more than just a grilled ham sandwich its a meal unto itself. I’m looking forward to trying other things on the menu. I don’t know why I waited so long to go here. Stop by and give them a try you’ll be glad you did.

Really goooood even if you’re not gluten free. Waffle Ranchero. The Banana Honey Nut Waffle is awesome too. Plus fresh squeeze home made apple juice.

Very very good sandwiches and smoothies! Great coffee too! Owned by a really nice couple. If you’re in the area definitely worth a stop! They have dairy free mayo standard and gluten free bread and waffles all standard with no extra charge. Everything I have had is delicious and very fast service — I can easily go for a 30 min lunch and wolf it down there. Yummy.

The first time, it was the grilled vegetarian sandwich and coffee. Wow! Then, the next week, the grilled pepper turkey sandwich and a latte. Wow, again. Then(and I never did this before) I put it on our local Facebook site, inviting my neighbors to try it out. Eight showed up for a gathering on Monday. They also said wow! It’s a tiny place in an out of the way location in old Oak Grove. I want it to succeed! I want this great restaurant in my neighborhood. I like the fact that the food is healthy. There is a focus on quality. I like, too, that the prices are honest. None of this deceptive«$.99» business. And everything on the menu is reasonably priced. I give it 5 stars with no hesitation.
