Best drug store in Oakhurst. Never out of stock. Slow service but nice staff. Lots of old people don’t expect to be quick.

Prices are high, but this particular Rite Aid is the perfect one-stop shop. They have every little thing you could possibly need while in the middle of a Yosemite road trip. They also have a pharmacist available right up until the store closes, which was particularly helpful for my husband and I when we got ridiculously sick during our travels. All in all, this Rite Aid is clean, reliably stocked and well staffed with friendly employees.

We are all familiar with Rite-Aid. They are a giant, chain pharmacy. They also sell snacks and drinks and some household things. What sets this place apart from most other Rite-Aid’s is this one sells scooped ice cream… for CHEAP! We always bring the kids in here after pizza and everyone gets ice cream. Ice cream for a family of 5 for under 10 bucks… awesome. It’s good quality ice cream too. There are usually 15 or so flavors to choose from. My kids always end up getting cotton candy flavor. it’s this fluorescent blue and pink color. It doesn’t look natural in any way. but they’re kids. what do they know. I stick with the classics. almond praline, mint chip or cookies and cream. Ok. I just made myself hungry… great…now what.

Very small, but they serve ice cream like the old Thrifty Drugs that they used to be. The pharmacist there is helpful and will speak to you, personally, and you don’t have to stand in some long line to get to the pharmacy. The parking lot is something else, though. If you go out the north side, it tries to make you turn right only which takes you nowhere. Left takes you back to Hwy 41, so turn left, ignore the sign.
