Peter Pan is Fort Lauderdale’s Denny’s. It doesn’t have the BEST of any one thing, it’s consistently mediocre at all hours of the day. That’s why everyone comes back. Nothing is spectacular, but you know your food will be warm, well cooked, and consistent. Plus, you cannot come to this place and not find at least one favorite item on their massive menu. Also, all the desserts are pretty good when fresh. Peter Pans is such a great mix of people and a reflection of the fort lauderdale community. Come in at the busiest time and you’ll see all sorts of people. I can’t really imagine Fort Lauderdale without Peter Pan’s.They are priced like most diners and it’s pretty fair for the amount of food you get. Now, the vegetarian options are not that great, BUT most diners really lack veggie options. They do have a lot of greek choices which makes it much better than a normal american dinner. I always get breakfast, which is generally not that greasy and pretty good. Everything is always cooked very well and the portions are great.

Another Ft. La-de-da mainstay. I’ve been eating here since the 80’s. I’m here for breakfast whenever I’m over on this side of town. Pancakes are good and the prices are great. The burgers and onion rings are a go to on the menu for me, in the old days after the bar it was the pork chop… now I’m not there with the«after 2 am» crowd. The cookies, cakes are okay but the pies are usually the most tasty :-)

This my second review this week. First review gave accolades(lamb shanks, moussaka, soup), sadly last experience was not as pleasant. I normally don’t buy duck out. Peter Pan confirmed that rule. What I was given was half of a large meaty totally dried out entrée devoid of flavor other than salt. It was accompanied by a serving of a sweet orange sauce on the side. Server was a doll. Should have ordered the rib streak or pot roast(had to be better). Wife ordered the duck too and felt the same

Ate here on a Wednesday morning. As i arrived around 11ish, i was disappointed to find that there weren’t many options avaialble. I guess they were getting ready for the lunch crowd. The server was very nice and she did say they have many items that they could whip up that were not on menu. The item they didn’t have, which i came for, was biscuits and gravy. The server said that they don’t have anymore under heat, which i found a bit disconcerting as I at least want the appearance that my food items are going to be reasonably fresh. The pancakes were not fresh, as if they were waiting around for a bit before i got them. I suppose the food is good here if you come early on as it will be fresher; don’t come here during the transition times from breakfast to lunch. Service was great though.

Love Karen, such a gem of a waitress Candice as a manager/hostess/Broom expert(LOL) wow does not miss a beat. The food is pretty good the owners need to liven up on some things, really don’t nickel and dime us .61 cents LOL. Been coming here since 1989. Yikes. Iconic!!! NOTETOTHEOWNERS… Please fix the booths from swinging back and forth when attached to another table. Hence the back of connecting booths is a true pain in the back. LOL To some waitresses and a waiter or 2 please spread people out in your stations no need to put everyone on top of each other seriously. Do I need to name you? It’s a dinning fun Experience not a rollers coaster with seesaw seat and one cart after the other. Ok that’s my scoop for today. Enjoy the place did I mention the pies, cakes and all desserts are AWSOME!!! I buy full cakes all the time. And yes I am in shape. LOL Good luck readers and happy dinning. From a fair patron!!!

This is always my late night stop, because I work as a server down the street and don’t get out until late at night. Been coming here for years. It has that old fashioned diner feel. Staff is always friendly and checks up on you throughout the meal. Its a relaxed, cozy environment to enjoy a nice meal with friends after a long day. I always choose breakfast or the bacon cheeseburger deluxe. Can’t go wrong.

Peter Pan has stepped it up a ton in the past few months. Waitress was awesome. Food Quality is back!!! For awhile the roast was burnt to a crisp and then drowned in gravy. Now it’s back to it’s good amazing self! I noticed they raised the prices so maybe that explains it? But honestly I’d rather pay the $ 1.00 more and be 100% satisfied. I was expecting awful mashed potatoes. I usually get fries with gravy and mozzarella but I wanted to try something a tad new. Mashed potatoes are a red mashed. I actually enjoyed them. Only complaint? Food was on the cold side. I think this was our waitresses fault because it was very busy. I’m happy. Leaving full and smiling …

I’ve eaten here many times, because it is close to where I live and, most importantly, it is open all night. There are a wide variety of items on the menu. I’ve tried several. None of them are especially good but they will suffice if you get out of work at 1 a.m. and are too tired to cook for yourself. If you’re really tired, you can overlook the deteriorating furniture and the general appearance of dirtiness. Typically, the waitresses are friendly, though I had a bad experience last week with the one male waiter. He was nasty, unattentive, and he got my order wrong. I asked for the fish to be cooked with no butter. Never had a problem with this request in the past. This time it came in a pool of butter /oil which soaked the fries on the same plate. When I asked for extra lemon(to drown out the oily taste) he told me if I wanted more lemon he would have to charge me for it. As I was checking out, I asked the manager if it was the policy to charge for some extra lemon slices. He said that is the owner’s policy. I asked if I’d be charged for an extra napkin or a new fork if I dropped mine. He smirked. This is just petty and has made me disinclined to return.

We occasionally go to Peter Pan with friends who think the food is «off the chart» for diner cuisine. We just don’t get it. The breakfast is typical diner fare. Lunch specials are mediocre and the place needs a good cleaning on a daily basis. There are several fun servers who have quite a following and it does make for an enjoyable experience. Now… go down the street and check out Andrews Diner. Compare the two and you will see the significant difference — the quality of the food, cleanliness of the establishment, etc.

The disco fries are HEAVENLY! It’s steak fries with brown gravy and melted cheese. Perfect for a late night meal or and after-bar snack. It’s predominantly a greek place, although they have the traditional diner foods too, so check out their greek items. They’re all pretty great!

I consider myself an expert when it comes to dining out for breakfast. Peter Pan has just become one of my go to places. To begin the atmosphere is an open floor with very comfortable booths. TV’s are within view of most seats — very comfortable booths — now for service — Servers are great and very helpful and friendly… Breakfast choices are wide and varied — eggs are not greasy and served within minutes along with great grits and side meats are high quality and again no tums needed like a lot of places, Best of all the coffee is always hot and never bitter and may be the best coffee in town High marks and a must try for this Oakland Park Blvd landmark !!!

24 Hour Diner that has been around for ever, they have a large menu. Food is what you would expect form a diner, its ok, nothing to blow you away. The portions are large and the menu of the typical diner foods like sandwiches, burgers, salads, meats, seafood and even some Greek specialties. Service is friendly but usually busy and rushing to serve all tables. They serve breakfast all day and have a full liquor bar, a lounge area and cheap drinks. Happy Hour prices are Monday-Saturday 11am-11pm and Sunday 12pm-11pm, House Wine $ 2 with meal.

Late night snack, we arrived at midnight on Saturday and the place was medium filled. But that didn’t seem to matter because the service was slow. As well, we got to listen to the hostess drama, enjoy the checkout drama with the failed credit card machine and watch our waitress refilling salt shakers instead of bringing us our check. But hey, the pancakes and eggs were good.

I had heard a lot about this diner but what intrigued me was it’s supposed to have some really interesting post club eye candy to gawk at, and I do love a good show as well as a decent meal. With birthday weekend just here and friends in from out of town what better way to spend the time then after gorging at dinner by following up with imbibing late night in the pool… which means past the midnight hour — of course we’re all hungry again. Hate how that happens… I thought this would be a killer time to come see what all the buzz was about with Peter Pan — one of my friends opted to join me and we weren’t disappointed. This is a traditional Greek style diner that just doesn’t come in a refurbished train car and to my knowledge has not been seen on any TV show featuring(the odious) Guy Fieri… We were seated almost immediately but I can imagine they fill up fast; we arrived @ 1:30 but an hour later it was easily half full as the club kid set(along with the occasional trannie and prostitute) came in to take the load off… so as far as people-watching — it’s a winner. My companion opted for something more diner-Greek and chose a pasta oriented dish; I chose a traditional breakfast combo with blueberry pancakes and two easy over eggs. Again, as a traditional diner the food delivers; fluffy pancakes were smothered in quite yummy sugary blueberries, butter and maple syrup. I’m hazarding a guess the blueberries came frozen, but that didn’t mean they didn’t taste warm and fresh — I think it’s a bit of a skill to do that in a skillet and not just let them defrost. The eggs were prepared perfectly. We coulda stayed and people watched some more but fatigue set in so we bounded home courtesy of a cab they called for us but I’m waiting for some more nocturnal adventures to return to Peter Pan(and find my Captain Hook)!

The tagline for Saturday Night Fever asked«Where do you go when the record is over?». That was 1977, two years later the Peter Pan Diner opened and answered the question. The Peter Pan Diner is open 24÷7÷365. It is consistent in all ways. The staff, the food, the clientele, the décor seems to be unchanged for all eternity. I only visit this Neverland when there is nothing else open because, «it’s better than Denny’s». This is typical diner fare. The menu is huge, there is a page of Greek specialties, there are no surprises and there will never be any surprises. That’s part of the charm. The portions are large, the prices are fair. Their burgers are pretty good. Breakfast is served all day and reliable. I tend to go with whatever the daily special is because the food is pretty much interchangeable. There is generally a fun diner vibe and interesting people pouring in as the bars let out. They also serve alcohol and they sell lottery tickets which are probably two vices that should not be combined.

The Reuben sandwich Lox box Any of their desserts! Warning though: Portions are ginormous! Love this place!!!

Much deserved upgrade! I had not been to the Peter Pan Diner in years. They have entirely different servers now, and the food has been perfect the last 2 times I’ve been there within the last 2 weeks. So after 2 times the charm, I figured, it’s official. The lamb gyro was perfectly and tightly prepared, besides very tasty. The eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti is AMAZING, and came with the sauce on the side, just as I requested. No complaints whatsoever. The kind of crowd that goes there during the day is on the older side. But having a decent place to eat that opens 24 hours and has a very varied menu with great prices IS a great thing.

I have been coming to Peter Pan for a few years now, and they really don’t change it up too much. I can say that they are consistent, and consistently mediocre at that. The food there is just ok, and truth be told, you always can tell that if there was some passion in the cooking, as well as s aling back the enormous menu(in a binder, mind you) it would be so much better. That is for their regular fare. The area that Peter Pan shines in the most would hands down be the dessert catagory. The pies and cakes are some of the best in the area, and they stay stocked with everything from Boston Crème Pie to German Chocolate Cake. Looking at the pie and cake display case will no doubt make one feel like the proverbial kid in a candy store. I want to give them 4 stars for the great desserts and being open 24/7, but the regular menu just doesn’t warrant it. Any which way, Peter Pan a good option for late night food on the way back from the bar, or for a late night sweet tooth, or a nice spot for a middle of the night date. Don’t let the owner/manager freak you out, he’s always kinda weird like that lol.

Bring them your tired, your old, your drinkers… You see it all here. 24 – 7 diner that has been around since 1979. If you live in Fort Lauderdale, you know about Peter Pan Diner. Some of my family swears by their hamburger as the best around. But on the vegetarian side, it’s lacking. I end up with their pancakes or french toast day or night; which is ok, but nothing special. They have a huge menu and most of their portions are quite large. You definitely won’t leave hungry. Their dinners include awesome bread on the table, soup/salad, and dessert. I am a big fan of their rice pudding. It’s not usually a treat in the dessert world, but it should be. The service is usually friendly(lots of regulars) and the place is clean. The décor is a bit dated, but that’s part of the charm. They have a full bar lounge attached that is quintessential Florida. Worth checking out in the wee hours for some good people watching.
