It is what it is. Nothing fancy. Friendly staff cheap prices as gay bars go. Free pool on Sunday. No pretense like you find on the drive

Thought I’d pay this place another visit since I heard that they made some improvements, which they did by adding a little sort of alleyway food concession they affectionately refer to as the «Rehab» which basically has a bar food menu of burgers, hot dogs, onion rings, mushrooms and the like with an occasional special such as a Philly cheesesteak. It’s an improvement alright, but the inside is still a hole, more specifically a «Bear Den.»
For those unfamiliar with the gay term of Bear Den, it’s a place where big fat hairy slob gay body types hang out, generally referred to as «Bears,» a term popularized by Richard Bulger with his publication of Bear Magazine. Since I’m not into that type and in appearance and physic referred to by them as being an «Otter» (one with light or little body hair… less than medium hair, which would be a «Wolf»). Hence, I’m somewhat of a misfit in the crowd. But if you’re into Bear Dens and the Bear crowd, Stable is probably ok but even if it were, it’s a bit difficult to put up with the loud mouthed drunk of a bartender that seems to come with the place even if he does pour an exceptionally stiff drink.

It’s a hole, a dirty, smokey hole, a hole with $ 10 beerbust on select nights
