The drinks are strong and the drag shows are AMAZING! Get here early as parking can be a problem. Smoking is allowed inside and on the outside patio bar. The bartenders are very nice. They remember all of their regulars.

Friendly funny staff. Reasonable prices. You can smoke. The drag shows are funny and entertaining. Good fun crowds. Recommended for a good time. The showgirls expect a tip but they are appreciative. Bring your friends bring your date. Car-pool cuz parking is limited.

Place is kind of cool if you are stopping in before a night out at a real bar but other than that I would skip it. As I am from NYC, this bar is not one I would normally go to. The owner is usually there and a busybody in the gossip and everyone’s business. On game nights, the owner also competes, usually cheats and wins. Like I said, it is an OK place during the day and at happy hour. After that they will charge you almost 5 bucks a beer and FORCE you to have a wet bucket in front of you to prove it. Not conducive to a $ 500 phone. I would hit here on my way back from the beach via cab and then leave. Other than than I would RUN!!! Karaōke is AWFUL on Friday & Saturday. Plus those night the bartenders tend to overcharge you if you use a credit card. My advice: if you ever go to this gayborhood watering hole, bring cash and pay drink to drink. They do have an outside tiki bar which is OK depending on who is working. There is a VJ on drag nights which I as a local avoid. The music is awful and the trannies are all coked up. If you visit during happy hour and pay cash it is the place to go. Otherwise, I would skip & go straight to Wilton Manors… No pun intended

Yes, it’s a neighborhood bar. Different from other gay bars in the sense that it is what it is and anyone gay or straight can feel comfortable there having an inexpensive drink. Im a non smoker and I wish it was smoke free(c’mon Florida get with the rest of the planet) but I usually go out to the back patio. I don’t go on drag nights but Wednesday/Thursday out back has a relaxed vibe. Close to my neighborhood and no attitude!

You must come for the drag show … not because its good, but because its so terrible its hilarious !!! I believe even the«entertainers» know that they are a laugh and so they dont mind … Patrons are quite interesting too. the lady sitting next to me had two teeth and when she inhaled on her cigarette, she could blow the smoke out through her gums. Between that and the drag show I had a GREAT time :).

It’s basically a low rent gay neighborhood bar in Wilton Manor. The drinks are easy on the wallet, they serve a free Sunday omelet breakfast and have a rather cheap, lack luster drag show on Saturday nights. Has the usual collection of young gay alcoholics, younger ones on the prowl for a Sugar Daddy and some Sugar Daddies looking for Sugar Boys. However those pickup actions are not too obvious or blatant. It can just be a nice stop for a cheap beer and some uncomplicated chat where smoking isn’t generally an issue. The parking however is cramped and some of the people leaving the place are clearly in no condition to be driving, but are probably driving only because they are too drunk to walk. So, as a hint, it is best to park your car as far as you can from where most of the other patrons park. On Friday and Saturday night they have drag show, female impersonating lip singers on their tacky adorned Illusion Stage. Some of them are rail thin others equal to the size of any line backer that the Green Bay Packers ever fronted. What they do have in common however, is a lack of talent, meaning that they certainly aren’t the equal to what you might find performing at the Manchester Room of the Alibi, at the back bar at Bill’s or at Lips. However, they appear dedicated, enjoy what they are doing, and the crowd enjoys them. Sunday mornings Monkey Business serves free omletes and also has various other special events.

Monkey Business Bar, located at 2740 N. Andrews Avenue, several blocks south of Oakland Park Blvd, has a small«neighborhood bar» feel. Their blog: Videos:
Monkey Business is an okay place to have a drink, or two, or three, or more… and watch a drag show on a Saturday night. Bar celebrities include Dina Kingsley, Miranda, Tonna McKenzie, Sharde’ Ross, Nancy Ross, to name a few. That said, they tend to hang out at Monkey Business less and less due to repeated and widely observed behavior issues by one of the owners. Some other interesting links related to Monkey Business bar: CONS: __Tends to be VERY smokey with minimal circulation. An additional air-conditioner was recently added, but doesn’t seem to be helping much. __The owners(and patrons) will often open the windows to relieve the smoke. Between the open windows and the often opened back entrance, the bar becomes too hot to bare. A common-sense solution would be to leave the windows and doors shut and install(or make use of existing) air circulators-filters. __On site parking is very limited. Back lot parking is available periodically. Arrive early to get the best parking. WARNING: DONOTPARKATTHEWALGREENSLOTACROSSTHESTREET — YOUMAYBETOWED !
