I like to point out well-​run local businesses and this is one. Owner/​manager (probably Sparkle, looking at other reviews) was great — quick, professional, and nice. Was in and out in 15 minutes even though there was someone ahead of me. Much better than the last Live Scan place I went to — it’s obvious that they have done a lot of these, and she knows what she’s doing. The fact that she’s friendly, and the prices are low, are extra bonuses.

Very fast and easy place to get a Live Scan fingerprint done.
It’s a small little office sandwiched between some bail bond places so the outside has a lot of shady characters standing around, but you’ll be in and out of this place in no time. On weekdays you can just walk in and the entire process took maybe ten minutes. The lady who works here is pretty nice too.
It’s also one of the cheapest places to get a Live Scan done. Their rolling fee (the fee that all places charge on top of the DOJ and FBI fees) is lower than other places. Note that if you pay by credit card, it costs $ 2 more. The total (all fees inclusive) is $ 65 for cash and $ 67 for card.

Upon walking in the office which is located near Old Oakland, Sparkle was already attending to two other patrons. They both got their fingerprints done under 10 – 15 minutes while I waited for my turn. When it was my turn, Sparkle quickly took care of all my paperwork and scanned my fingerprints in a prompt manner. She was very pleasant during the whole process.

I was very pleased after getting my live finger print scan with Sparkle. Not only was she extremely professional and completed my scans quickly, but she was also very personable, which made a seemingly awkward process significantly more enjoyable. The service was extremely fast, and the customer service was on point. If I ever had to suggest a live scan service, I would highly recommend Sparkle at Allscan Finger Printing.

What a great business! Sparkle was very kind and sat me through the whole process of a tedious application. Also a notary so a one stop shop. The whole process was less than ten minutes. I will always come here for any notary or fingerprint needs.

I would give negative stars if possible. I’ve never experienced such poor customer service. We needed to get Live Scan fingerprinting done and the experience was so terrible we wrote a review/​complaint to the company. It must have gone right to the lady who took them, because she emailed back «Thanks for the humor.»
Every time we’ve called «Sparkle» at the number she gave us, to get the information we need to submit the prints to the DOJ, she lectures us like we don’t know what we’re talking about, and then says she won’t provide the info. I handle 300 Live Scans a month, and have never been met with such rudeness.
I believe the other reviews on this page are fake. The price is regulated by the DOJ & market (always between $ 65 – 75 total), and a couple of other statements by other reviewers are ringing flase.
Just go some place else, it’s not worth your time here.

I needed to get finger printed and researched prices and hours of operation in entire East Bay. This place was recommended by State of CA Office of the Attorney General website and one of the most affordable places for Live Scan services in Alameda County. I had the pleasure of meeting Sparkle Kelly who was friendly, professional and delivered services quickly. You may call for an appointment. Right off 880 freeway in downtown Oakland. Bring coins to pay for street metered parking.

The experience was as great as this type of experience could be. Please take heed when reading the negative reviews. I couldn’t of asked for more proactive help, getting the right forms for my specific needs, etc., 5 star customer service, and a pleasant office environment. Thank you for the help.

Getting a live scan’s gotta be up there with one of the most awkward social situations of all time. Imagine a stranger all up in your personal space, breathing down your neck, grabbing your hands, smooshing your fingers across a piece of glass. Imagine that they keep smooshing your fingers across the glass until they get it just right. When your prints aren’t dark enough, they make you rub a stinky oil on your fingers that you smell on your hands for days. Usually the whole process is done in complete awkward silence. And if the operator’s breath also smells bad, you’re SOL.
Not with Sparkle! That is the Live Scan operator’s name here, and she is super sweet (and has incredible hygiene). She is definitely on the chatty side, but it certainly makes the aforementioned awkward motions go by that much faster. Like a good hair stylist. Plus her prices are the lowest I’ve paid for digital fingerprinting… $ 16 if paying cash, $ 17 with card. She accepts walk-​ins. If you’re about to start a new job in the Downtown Oakland area which needs to make sure you’re not a convicted felon, look no further than All Scan Live Scan!

Excellent customer service. I always go to Sparkle for my LiveScan services: not only is she very personable and professional, but she has the best prices in town. She’s also a third generation East Bay resident and is a true ambassador in service to the community.

Horrible customer service. Lady on phone was so unprofessional. I called to ask for rates on live scan fingerprinting. She was so rude and kept cutting me off assuming I had no idea what I was asking for. She even hung up on me before I could complete a sentence of inquiry. Never will I walk into this place. Zero stars.

I’ve had to get my finger prints done twice this week. I googled Live Scan locations in Oakland and I picked this one because it was closest to my location. Sparkle is a very friendly, relaxed and knowledgable lady. She was able to give me an exact price over the phone first, one cash, one credit. The whole process lasted about 15 minutes. I needed a second scan a few days later and she was my first choice. I would highly recommend her to anyone

I just got fingerprinted for my job with Oakland Unified School District. Sparkle was very nice, knowledgeable, and made the whole session feel relaxed. When I had to get my fingerprinting done a second time, for the state, I could have gone anywhere, but I returned to Sparkle knowing it would be a smooth experience.
