I love their sandwiches and soups. It’s an easy choice to get something fresh and healthy and tasty.

Great little find — thanks, Unilocal!Love the back patio and the sausage sammy and the staff. No pastries available the day I went, but I hung out for hours after my lunch, using the Wi-Fi and enjoying the sunny day. A winner.

The pastries are all $ 1.50 after 1pm or something during the week. The coffee options were bold or mild not sure what kind — 1 star. The iced green tea i ordered came from a container out near the condiments –1 star as that is weird to me too. Morning bun was good and the restrooms as others have mentioned were nice and clean. Will have to give their bagel sandwiches a try next time as they looked mighty tasty.

Excellent, freshly brewed and made to order, coffee concoctions. Great selection of pastries, and deli eats. If this place was closer I would be here way more often.

Cute little breakfast place in a bit of an awkward location. I had half a breakfast sandwich and the bread was nice and dense. The sausage was also tasty. The prices were reasonable, but I wouldn’t come every day.

I come here for lunch at least 2 times a week most weeks and only have good things to share about this café. There’s always metered parking right up front and within walking distance if parked on cross streets, away from the freeway traffic merging onto 5th where it’s located. The establishment itself looks like it used to be a house, which makes for a nice café. Plenty of seating inside and out(back porch). Their staff is friendly and helpful. I usually order take out before showing up, but will still get my food quickly on days I don’t. Great iced tea. Fresh bread, greens, and deli meat makes for such amazing sandwiches and salads! I’m a big fan of the Roasted Turkey Breast sandwich with chipotle mayo or basil oil, which you can get cold or hot. Another favorite is the Avocado Salad with bacon or chicken… large portion and not whelming when I want just a salad for lunch. The quality and consistency makes me a regular.

Great food, neat atmosphere, good flavor offerings– that’s all I need in a good coffee café. I tried one of everything– a pastry, a breakfast sandwich, and a coffee. I loved each one and was satisfied with my selection. The service is quick and prompt and the staff is friendly and helpful. I’ll be coming here on a regular basis to get my morning fix.

This café is kind of in a weird location. It’s in a Victorian house on 5th, and you have to go under the freeway to get to it from the Chinatown/Downtown area. It’s right outside the Jack London area, where there are hella cars trying to reach the freeway or the tunnel to Alameda. They offer sandwiches and salads, but a little more upscale than you would find in other cafes. Prices are pretty reasonable though. The homemade spicy sausage sandwich is a must try here! I don’t know what they do to make it but that sausage is really good and goes well with the jalapeño jack cheese. When I feel spendy I like to get an Italian soda from here too. There aren’t a whole lot of seats, but many people come here for just takeout so I’ve never had a problem getting a seat. A downside of the location is that there are craploads of flies outside that you have to swat through to get here. I find it amazing that they can prop their door open and none of those flies ever come in. They look like they get a steady flow of customers during lunch, despite their inconvenient location. They’d definitely be really popular and busy if they were in a more accessible location, but they seem to do well as is.

This is a sweet café, I stopped by on my way to the airport because they were open early. I had a veggie breakfast sandwich and a small cappuccino, both were just ok. The sandwich came on a roll that was a little chewy and the eggs were a sort of soft scramble – it worked but it wasn’t amazing. The cappuccino was milky, their smallest size is 12oz. The staff was polite and quick, I’d be willing to try it again and get a lunch sandwich sometime.

Been driving by this place and finally got to visit with my son. My baby and I had been checking out different cafes on my days off so I’m glad to have to check this place out. Cute little place in a victorian house sets the relax setting. The place wasn’t crowded so ordering was a breeze. Coffee is awesome. Their breakfast sandwiches were really good. Will have to come back for lunch and hopefully more time to hang out.

This little gem here is by far one of the best cafes around the jack London area. Nestled between vacant buildings, this historic Victorian style building is surely a place you cannot miss. Coffee, lattes and tea are some of the beverages they make. I only come here for their breakfast and lunch sandwiches. If come in for breakfast, their homemade spicy sausage sandwich is a must try! Oh… And their homemade bread pudding muffin is delicious which a cup of joe! Overall, I love this place and is my usual to-go place for breakfast and lunch. Great friendly staff and service. Avoid going around noon or 1 as the line to order goes all the out side.

I love this café! The iced coffee is delicious and their breakfast sandwiches are great when I’m in a hurry. Stopped by for lunch today and had a delicious turkey sandwich. Only $ 8 and it was huge! They also have a dog friendly patio in the back and always bring my pup a bowl of water.

Autobahn is a perfect example of what happens when the chef and owner that cooks with love and talent leaves. Walli was phenomenal. She selected quality, local ingredients to serve to her customers and infused her amazing self into all that she cooked. Now…the new owners cook with her recipes but the food is blah. I have tried and tried to keep going but after multiple egg sandwiches that taste bland, learning that they get their bagels at Costco and the overwhelming decline of Autobahn… my love affair is over. Walli, I truly wish you the best in all you’re doing now but you are missed…

Autobahn is another well hidden treasure in Jack London Square. They have great prices and anything you order is going to be amazing. I really love the maple oatmeal yogurt! It’s so unique and a great start to the morning. I’ve tried their sandwiches and salads, and have never been disappointed, every time I go it’s fresh, and you can tell they put a lot of effort in making fresh affordable foods. Go there, you won’t regret it!

I don’t know what kinda drugs they put in their sandwiches, cuz I’m sooo addicted! I haven’t tried anything on their menu that isn’t good! Really. The breakfast sandwiches are my favorite, I normally get the egg sandwich with mushrooms… I’m salivating just thinking about it. I’ve had their Turkey with pesto and also with chipotle aioli(really good smoky flavor in that sauce), both are fantastic and I usually can’t make up my mind so I ask them to add both sauces to my sandwich. The Portobello Mushroom sandwich is really good, so is the Caprice. To be honest, you really can’t go wrong with ordering anything. I like my sandwiches heated and the bread is always so perfect with a chewy core and crispy crust. I’ve also tried their quinoa salad which comes with bell peppers and cucumbers. I like adding lettuce and cheese to it. The ingredients are super fresh and tasty. For breakfast I’ve had their oatmeal yogurt(I’ve never had anything like it before) and it’s super good and filling. When I’m having a fatty day, I’ll opt for one of their baked goods. Customer service is amazing. Everyone I’ve encountered here is super polite and professional. I really love this place and am so glad I have somewhere great to stop for coffee or chai during the work week.

An adorable little café to add to my wifi rotation! It appears to be a converted Victorian house in an unexpected location just next to the 880 freeway, on the outskirts of Jack London Square. Parking is tricky since it’s all meters around here, but if you’re willing to walk a couple blocks from 2nd street you can score a few free hours. I had the egg & mushroom breakfast sammie on baguette for just 3.50(half size), and it was just the kind of breakfast you’d imagine your doctor approving of: a perfect balance of protein/veggies/carbs. I love that they offer both half and full sized sandos, as I try not to stuff myself first thing in the morning. As I settled in, I immediately loved the vibe — no hustle, French café music playing, a bowl of «free fruit» on the counter. I felt a world away from Oakland. Morning regulars came and went. I was one of the few people that lingered and used their free & fast wifi, but I never felt like I was taking up space. If anything this is one of those undiscovered havens of productivity where you can enjoy some peace & quiet along with some great food and friendly folks. Danke, Autobahn!
