I have been coming here for years, since I was a college student at Mills. The food is consistent… good diner breakfast food. The prices are pretty good no matter your budget. I usually get an omelette. The service is on par with what is to be expected of a «diner». They are nice and attentive. I recommend this place for breakfast. You can lounge around or be in and out in under 1 hour.

Man. What’s up with all the bad reviews? It’s always about service. Any person could walk in and survey the situation and figure it out. Yes. They can be a little slow, but they’re a little short staffed, from what a saw three people working the floor, but really only two people taking orders and serving. I’m okay with that. To others who complain about the rudeness of the staff? I saw that too, but keep in mind language and cultural differences when a person comes from a different background. What might sound rude is sometimes lost in translation. I also dislike how most Unilocal reviews of the negative nature ALWAYS bash the service. That being said, I went in one day after driving by Sequoia and seeing a football team of people waiting outside. I ordered the«Kitchen Sink» it was 3 eggs, bacon, ham, onions, green peppers, cheddar cheese, all mixed up with RICE! Yes! RICE. I love the rice option for breakfast. Yes. It was cooked with crispy rice edges, and anyone who loves rice knows what’s up. Good portions, not greasy at all. I have a sensitive stomach and anything heavy in grease throws me in a loop. Prices are decent, so I won’t be spending $ 25 on myself for breakfast. Always a good thing. Money for Lucky Donuts after. ;) The best advice from me would be, know what you’re ordering. They have a pretty extensive menu which can tease your senses, but be smart about what you’re ordering. If you want something your way, you better speak up to your server and ask questions, not just on Unilocal.I ordered from the«daily specials» and was thoroughly satisfied. Be patient because kindness is the universal language.

Terrible service, rude over the phone and greasy food. I spend a lot of money with this place and I’m givin the lady my order and she says very rudely, you know, can you call back in 5 mins, I’m really busy.” Seriously??? I’ll never go back, or call again.

Terrible food and terrible service. Omelet was greasy. Chicken served with chicken and waffles were frozen strips. When apprised of how poor the quality of good was the waitress replied we were the first to complain. She insisted we pay full price after taking only one bite. Never going back.

Not really sure where all the negative reviews came from. My friend and I stumbled upon the place. An outdated diner serving standard American breakfast and lunch. Service was attentive given how busy they were. Our orders were taken quickly and our coffees were refilled frequently. My friend and I shared the nature’s omelette and fresh strawberry french toast. They were both good. The omelette had a variety of veggies. The hash browns were nice and crispy. The french toast was fluffy with generous amounts of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Good solid diner breakfast. We will be back.

Most tasteless/flavorless syrup and food I’ve had in a while. I ordered the French Toast plate. So upset. I tried some omelette, not the best. Never coming back.

The service here is horrible. I left feeling like my skin was too dark to receive adequate service. Food was bland and cold.

Completely average. Everything was a little too greasy, a little too overcooked, a little too undercooked. If it were cheaper, that’s fine, but it’s not.

Food was really good but the service wasn’t as great. Had to keep getting the waitress attention for more coffee and to bring my bread that was in my order because they forgot it.

This is a place to go if you want to good solid breakfast. They do great food, great service, and don’t take forever. I go here every once in a while when I just don’t feel like making breakfast and I know they’ll make it the way that I like.

I ordered the Teriyaki Beef plate and the house Lemonade, both were delicious. They’ve got great music playing low enough to hear if you like it or ignore if you don’t. The atmosphere is causal and quaint like a homey diner. Reasonable prices for the portions and the staff is decently attentive

My husband had a turkey sandwich for lunch &2 hours later, sicker than a dog. No question it was the turkey. Tried to call rest. & let them know but they were closed.

My 4-year-old daughter pronounced this«the best restaurant ever». I wouldn’t go that far, but the service and food were both very good, there was a large selection, the food arrived quickly, and prices were very reasonable. We had the garden omelette, which included ripe avocado and non-greasy hash browns, French toast with whipped cream and strawberries, and a kid’s meal(one large pancake, one egg, two pieces of bacon, and milk) for $ 21 after tax but before tip. The place is not fancy but was clean. I appreciated that there was no wait on a Sunday morning.

My wife ordered a cheese burger, and I ordered a california burger. Neither my wife nor I ate our burgers. My wife ordered hers without mayonnaise — she has an egg allergy. Her cheese burger comes out covered in mayonnaise. We point out this fact, and the burger goes«into the back». 1 min later it comes back out. New bun, same lettuce, tomato, and patty — all still covered in mayo… wtf? I order mine with everything on it. It comes out with green tomatoes and rotten lettuce — not wilted lettuce — rotten lettuce. So… 1. They will try and kill you. Allergic to peanuts… check your omelette. 2. Service is non existent. 3. At least they make life threatening experiences cheap.

You know, it’s all about expectations. my expectations: good basic breakfast offering, attentive service, good food, local diner atmosphere. Expectations met. Note: Omelets are HUGE and easily shared by two hungry people. The place is usually pocketed with groups(all ages) who obviously meet here for coffee/breakfast every morning. Great Laurel-local breakfast spot.

Fast, cheap and easy for a no-nonsense, nothing fancy breakfast. If you are checking your phone — you just might walk by and miss this place … it’s unassuming all around. But your toast will be generously buttered and the eggs will be fresh and hot. Roll in in your pj’s … no one would care.
