Curry Up Now

To pay sit down prices and be given our food without utensils or napkins was the first disappointment. Then when my husband got the naughty naan and only found it to be a whole lot of cheese on naan with some sauce, he was further annoyed. Not to mention when you pay at the start, the tip is portrayed as though it should be included when I feel the tip should be earned, not forced. Based on the whole experience post-​paying, I would not have tipped.
My deconstructed samosa was good but kind of sloppy. I won’t be going back to this hipster Indian restaurant. I prefer the authentic cuisine served in a traditional fashion and with genuine customer service.

The chicken platter was absolutely delicious! The chicken tikka was so tender and d delicious. I equally loved the chana masala. It’s all well put together and inexpensive for both the quality and quantity.

I used to go to the Curry Up Now truck and loved it. I was so excited when I took a job working practically upstairs from their brick and mortar site. I’ve been going there about once a week for two months now. I won’t be going back. Today was the last straw.
I’ve had terrible customer service there. Especially, as so many other people have pointed out, from one cashier in particular.
I was disappointed when I ordered the «gluten-​free» burrito, only to be served the insides of the burrito in a container, and the very tiny tortilla on the side. NOT a burrito guys. Not cool.
The next time I came in, I brought this up with said cashier and he not only argued with me about it (rather than just saying that he’d convey my thoughts to the owners, which would’ve been a more responsible way to respond) and then made snarky comments about me to the kitchen staff. I didn’t go back for a couple of weeks, but eventually gave in and went back.
Things were going well until today. I sat patiently while the kitchen staff put my burrito on the counter, he picked it up, looked at it, set it back down and walked over to the counter and sat there doing nothing. I waited about 2 – 3 minutes, just staring, thinking it had to be a pick up order or something and that’s why he didn’t give it to me. Finally, someone else walks out from the back, looks at the burrito, puts it in a bag and hands it to me. Seriously? I won’t be going back. I refuse to spend money at a place that can’t train it’s staff on how to treat patrons.
In summation: food is good, customer service is crap.

Purpose: Just got of work heading to OCMA OTGSF.

Staff: 3 – 4 worker inside truck one takes order other three puts it together.
Cleanliness: No complaints
Eats: Samosa 1pc-​$ 2, mango lasse $ 3. Samosa is very fresh and flaky comes in brown paper bag with two dipping sauces. Filling was not skimp here hot and delicious. Mango lasse was smooth and creamy just wish it was more in the cup oh well I will return for other items listed.
Products: Indian food, tikka, desserts, samosas, burrito wraps.
Expectations: Fast great service from workers. They speak perfect English so no need to worry about language barrier. Depending on how many people are line up sometime it can take as long as 10 minutes for your order. Cash only payment no iPads equip yet.
Final Thoughts: I came for samosa left with extra item (mango masse) both were good just wish I had place my whole order here instead of apps and dessert. Go ahead and give a go…

Line-​up was long which I guess can be kinda annoying, but I saw it as a sign that the food truck was good :) And indeed it was! I had the paneer tikka masala burrito to try and have a change from the usual meat dishes, and I wasn’t disappointed. The size of the burrito was quite large for the price. And the service was relatively fast, and definitely friendly. Can’t wait to go back soon to try some of their other dishes :)

Pretty good. Had the daily special which was the chicken marsala burrito with sweet potato fries inside (called the 49er special or something). Really tasty. I never even considered Indian food in burrito form but I loved it.
Their food truck was at First Friday in Oakland. It was killer! No seriously. A dude got shot to death a block away from us. You can even see Curry leaving from the crime scene in one of the youtube videos!
The burrito was worth it. Although the 49ers lost.

After waiting 20 minutes in the happy dumplings line, curry up now was looking pretty good. I hop in line and 15 minutes later I hold in my hand an Un-​Vegan M.E.A.T burrito in a bowl and a Mango Lassi (a really yummy mango yogurty drink)… and 5 minutes it was gone. haha. Yup I scarfed it and all its yummy halal meat, samosa, chutney and spices. Did I already know that my pores would smelly of curry at the bar when I was dancing? Yes and I did it anyway and it was totally worth it =)

I’ve had the sexy fries with paneer three times in a row. I guess I really like them but when I’m actually eating them, I always wish the sweet potato fries were cooked more. The first time I had the fries they were crispy but the last time I got them they were barely cooked. Also, I wish there were two options for spicy-​ness level of the sauce. And more cheese. Then it would be perfect. Fast service and friendly people.

I was strolling along campus when I heard about an amazing promotion Curry Up Now was having with Rocketfuel! Long story short: free burritos!
I got the Chicken Tikka Masala burrito and oh my goodness, was it dee-​licious! I’ll admit that when I first heard about it, I was intrigued, but slightly hesitant. I personally have a really hard time enjoying Indian food because I’m absolutely TERRIBLE with spicy foods. (No, really, I will actually end up crying).
But THIS was amazing! Even though I got it for free, I’d definitely be down for munching on a Chicken burrito from Curry Up Now anyday! The burrito wasn’t too spicy (so yay for me!), but it was super savory and the rice inside the burrito made it especially good! There was also a LOT of burrito; I couldn’t finish it all! Definitely gonna try checking out Curry Up Now from here on out. I hear they make a pretty regular appearance at Off the Grid Southside!

Was happy to see Curry Up in Oakland. I had the kathi roll with chicken which was on the the spicy spice (good) and the deconstructed samosa which I could not finished but had for dinner. There is no decent Indian food in Oakland so this is a nice treat.
Although the line was long, we got our orders in good time.
I will definitely return.
All I needed was a ‘thumbs up’ soda. :-)

I have found the ultimate in spicy food!
I’ve been hearing about Curry Up for a while, and I’m very pleased with the flavors and quality of their food. You get big chunks of chicken breast in a delicious curry base in their CTM burrito, I am really happy that I finally found one of their trucks!
What makes me happy is that they don’t screw around with the spicy. You can opt for none at all, all the way up to the extreme. Spicy food is not just about heat — it’s about flavor, the right kind of hot spices can change a dish for the better. With Curry Up’s ghost pepper sauce option, you get the ultimate tasty spicy curry experience. Hot sauces you buy, especially novelty ones frequently are just capsaicin powder in oil which tastes not unlike dirt to most people. Spicy, spicy dirt.
My ability to consume hotness knew no limits until today. Most of the time the «hot food» challenges and warnings are BS, and I really enjoyed the tikka masala burrito I had, but the ghost pepper sauce is so hot I had to take a break for a while. It’s on the order of numb lips, burning charcoal in your stomach and swollen tongue hot. I’m definitely a fan!
