Mark was the guy I talked to about my situation on repairs. He broke everything down to me very clearly, and also was straight up with everything. He explained that some repairs did needed to be done, but was not priority. (money was tight for me at that time) he basically repaired all the problems that definitely needed to be repaired. I had time to save money for the other problems the car had, which was important at the time, considering my financial welfare. Mark is a good guy, great shop, and did a wonderful job on my car. Thanks again mark!

I want to give this place negative stars. Don’t bring your car here.
I have a friend that was referred here. My friend’s insurance adjuster report estimated the repairs would take 7 days. It ended up taking almost three weeks. Lots of excuses about ordering parts, etc., The owner was awful about follow-​up — my friend had to constantly call to try and get an update. My friend would even visit the shop to try and get answers but the employees would always say they don’t know anything and the owner is not available.
In the end, it look almost a month from when the car was towed there to when repairs were complete. To make matters worse, they did not complete the repairs according to the insurance estimate. They were supposed to replace tires, and they did, but with old tires. My friend ended up having to take her car into another shop to have the repairs truly completed.
Awful, awful. It’s hard to understand how a business can operate this way, and also why this place can have positive reviews.

For anyone who has the misfortune of getting into an auto accident needing body work, I strongly recommend Excel Auto located at 2939 E. 7^th Street. Phone: 510−261−9508. I took a 2008 Honda Accord there in July 2010 and a 2013 Toyota Corolla there a few months ago. Both times I dealt with shop owner, Mark Sun. He is extremely courteous, knowledgeable, honest and efficient. He did a fantastic job on my cars both times. His work is top notch and his prices are reasonable. He also dealt with the insurance companies and helped with getting a rental car both times. After the accident, everything else was painless! I give Excel Auto and Mark Sun 5 Stars.

I lent my 2008 Honda to a friend and an unfortunate accident occurred requiring the bumper to be replaced. It was one of those frustrating situations where the cost of the repair was high, but not high enough beyond my insurance deductible to be paid by my insurance company. We were freaked out and I was afraid of cutting corners by going with anyone «cheap.»
Don’t be misled by the shop’s exterior: Mark’s work is top-​notch. I wouldn’t have found him myself, if it weren’t for my friend who did some sleuthing and got referred to Mark by another automotive expert. His location on a gritty East Oakland street isn’t someplace that I would ever have found otherwise.
We discovered that Mark is an auto repair professional who lives up to his word. He values integrity and quality of work more than anything else. We had gotten two other quotes from reputable shops which were a few hundred dollars more than what Mark quoted us. He was able to turn a stressful situation into a tidy resolution and my friend ended up saving hundreds of dollars on the repair. He color-​matched the paint perfectly, and the whole repair was done in less than an hour a few days after the part had been ordered and painted to match.
I highly recommend Mark Sun and Excel Auto for bodywork and peace of mind.

I used to go back to Mercedes for maintenace services, but now I will go to Excel Auto instead because of my uncle’s referral. I went for an A service and body work on rear bumper. The rear bumper was hit badly and I thought I need a new bumper. But Mark is very honest, he told me that he could fix it without replacing it and it could save me a lot of money! And the job was done perfectly! It just looks like a brand new car again!!! I am very happy with Excel Auto! Good pricing too!!!

I’ve been going to Excel Auto for oil changes, break change, tire replacement etc. The service is excellent– the owner Mark is very friendly and very honest. I’ve also had other services done on my car and I remember their prices are always competitive.
