Hello Gorgeous

I’ve been going to Celeste for…20 years?!? Yes, it’s been that long because she’s that good and I trust her with trying new things as well as sticking to the old when I find myself stuck in a groove. She can cut hair with one hand tied behind her back. Always up on the latest trends and very good at tailoring cuts to suit your body type and lifestyle (whether you do your do with product and blow dryers every day or just let it air dry with minimal brushing).
I love talking to her. She’s an amazing person and is as talented a salon adviser of life’s many issues (and supporter) as she is in her craft of hair-do’s.
She’s a riot! Hilarious and profound and has a beautiful heart and my only problem is that I don’t see her often enough!

Before Celeste at Hello Gorgeous, I could never get a good haircut. Since I started going to her, it’s been right every time. And she knows her stuff – from styling to the chemistry of hair products, Celeste understands what she’s doing and what’s going on in hair. Plus she always has intelligent, fruitful conversation – insights into what’s going on around Oakland, and recommendations of intelligent movies and books that I’ve enjoyed.

Nothing wrong with the haircut. But the proprietess is rude. She talked the entire time, didn’t listen to a word I said. The minute the haircut was over she got on her cell and made a call. Couldn’t wait until I’d written a check and said goodbye. Then she got off the phone and acted put out because I’d written the check to Hello, Gorgeous instead of to her name. Welllll… if she hadn’t been on her cell while I was writing the check I would’ve known that.
