The place had amazing vibes, they were friendly and very servicial. I got a great haircut by noemi! Now my hair is ready to go all the time, even when I wake up.
She gave me a product that works perfectly for the look I want. I got a balayage by noemi too, It wasn’t exactly as I wanted (it’s probably because I didn’t gave her a good explanation of what I wanted) but it look good anyway. I highly recommend this place.
Btw they have really cool products.

I had a great experience here. First, Karen helped me pick out a hair color plan that fit my budget and would be low maintenance. When she started to apply the coloring, my scalp seemed irritated and she immediately washed out the dye. We decided to wait another week or so to do any coloring, using an alternative method, as it seemed I had an allergy. I really appreciated her professionalism on the hair color issue – not only did she not charge me but she was genuinely concerned about my scalp health. Second, she gave me a haircut based on some pretty vague descriptions I gave her. It was fine, but several hours after the appointment I realized what would make it a really great haircut. I returned walk-​in to the salon later in the day, and she took another inch or two off the back, spending another 10 or 15 minutes with me until we were sure that I loved it. Now I have a great haircut and an appointment to go back for coloring. I was kind of a difficult client but Future was great!

Rosa Rosa Rosa… does what i like, and knows how to bring out the best in my natural hair. Her product recommendations are always a hit. Smart and talented!

This Rockridge salon is amazing! It’s bright and inviting, plus it smells heavenly in there!
I recently received a customized facial and massage from Leslee. She was wonderfully friendly and listened to all my concerns. If you’re looking for some serious deep tissue massage in Oakland, this is your gal. I hold a crazy amount of tension in my neck and shoulders and she took the time and energy to really work out my knots.
The facial was relaxing but thorough. I told her about how I suddenly had some dry patches on my face which I’ve never had before. She customized a moisturizing facial and my dry spots are practically gone!
I love this salon. It’s upscale but not pretentious and the quality is fantastic!

This is a really beautiful space and Casey is a scissors GENIUS! I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy with a cut.

Rosa still rocks my world! Even times I’ve strayed, I come back to her and she hooks it up with an amazing color and cut. Love the vibe in the salon. They manage to be energetic yet laid back. The best!

I’m in love. I’ll never go to another salon. Well, as long as this one remains open and I live in the area still. I’m very picky and love to be on point af. So, without further explaination. I love Future salon.

This is one of the first times I’ve actually thought Unilocal reviews were right on.
I finally could afford a «real» haircut and was desperate for someone to do something decent with my super thin, super fine, half grown out platinum hair.
I looked at Unilocal and decided to try Rosa based on all the rave reviews.
I don’t think I’ve ever spent this much $ on a haircut in my life, but I will say that it was worth it. Not only is my hair very difficult to do anything with, but I’m a pain in the ass to please.
So when she first cut it, I was not so excited and I know I seemed upset. But after I left I messed it up a little before heading to an event and then proceeded to receive numerous unsolicited compliments on my hair. No exaggeration. As superficial as it may be, it felt good.
I have since gone back to Rosa twice. Once for another cut, and then for a trim. Not only is she great with hair, she is also super patient, very nice, and from what I can tell, a very cool person. I would totally hang out with her, and I don’t like many people (just look at my reviews!).
Probably not in my best interest to add yet another rave review for Rosa, but wtf, she totally deserves it, unlike most of the overrated crap on Unilocal.

CASEY cut my hair this afternoon and it looks incredible. It’s truly the best, cleanest cut I’ve ever had. Definitely going to see her from now on. I’m totally thrilled.

My whole life, I have gone to barber shops to get my haircuts. I decided to try out this salon due to its excellent ratings. I was not disappointed. Noemi took the time to listen to what I wanted and did an excellent job! Not only is she great at cutting hair, her personality is pretty awesome and our conversation made time fly by. The work Noemi did on my hair gave me the confidence to excel in my interview. The facility itself is very clean and modern and everyone has a smile on their face. Professionals who are legitimately passionate about what they do. If there is anyone reading this who is not sure how salons compare to barber shops, I would say they pay more attention to detail and in addition, you get shampooed during the session so you can rock your haircut the same day. I will be going back to Noemi for my haircuts from now on! Highly recommended.

Let me start off by saying that she’s friendly. But other than that she is very good at her trade! i went in to go from red to platinum– and lord was i impressed! the coloring was even and my hair didn’t break off– she was very thorough to tell me what she was doing and kept me comfortable. I am a returning client of hers and I am happy to say it.

Do you know how great Rosa is? I went to someone else for a haircut (they were close to my office and I was short on time), maybe 5 months after Rosa gave me a cut/​color, and the stylist legitimately said, «Your hair looks great. I don’t think I’m going to be able to make it look better than it already does. Why don’t you go back to her?»
So anyway, that’s how great she is.

I’ve seen Ashley a couple times now, and she’s been awesome! My cut and color (balayage) both look great, and she goes the extra mile to make sure the final product is something you love. She’s also super easy to talk to and gives the best head massages, which is always great in a stylist. I’d definitely recommend Ashley and the salon in general!

This place was recommended to me by one of my coworkers & I have to say I was impressed!
First of all– I got a NEXT DAY appt on the weekend. How many times does a salon do that for you? Never.
I had a 5pm appt w/​Noemi and although the surrounding area was busy full of other little shops and cafes I lucked out at finding parking very easily out front.
I was greeted by the stylist herself and she had me put a robe on outside my clothes, and asked if I wanted water or champagne. Love that touch!
The place is really contemporary and simplistic but with a slight «Berkley» vibe.
All the ladies were characters– clients and stylists.
Noemi is super sweet: she knew I was (annoyingly) indecisive that day so every little touch or change or idea she had she ran by me. She went slow and would only do a little and then ask if I wanted to cut more or dye more. I loved that approach because I was part of the decisions and there were no crazy surprises. I had just gone through a week from hell– I had 2 extremely huge, heartbreaking losses within days. And you know how girls are when we are dealing with trauma– we need to take control and make a change so sometimes you want ot get your hair done but you also don’t want to live to regret it… With saying that– I’m so glad I came to this place and especially glad I had Noemi because while she was talkative (not too much) mostly she is able to read your personality and kind of get a feel for your needs and attitude. She did not push conversation on me when I wasn’t feeling it, she doesn’t pry into your life– it’s just an easy, casual convo. She also didn’t push product on me. She asked if I had a shampoo I liked, I said I did. One thing she did mention was adding in this product that makes my color stick and last ($ 15) and I did feel like that was appropriate for me and I needed it because my hair was a f*cking mess so I’m glad we went with that.
Lastly, one of the best things about this place is the cost. I had received $ 10 off from checking in on Unilocal (yay!), and besides that the prices are so reasonable! My charges: the additive to make dye last, root coverage (which was lighter and yet perfectly matched my coloring), a cut w/​bangs, and a mini-​balayage (which was plenty for me) — the total was just over $ 200. Ah-​may-​zing!
With their accommodating booking schedule, kind & fun staff, magic w/​hair color, and the best prices EVER– I can’t see myself going anywhere else!

Ashley knows hair! What a difference a superb cut makes when you’ve got short, unruly hair like me. Thank you, Ashley Smith, I’ll be back!

Future Vanity/​Novelty is my go-​to salon. The staff is friendly and the vibe is very chill. Shawna gave me the best facial of my life. In addition, Noemi is incredible with hair. I couldn’t be any happier with the results I got when I visited the salon!

I am so happy with my cut and color. I chopped off about 12+ inches (drastic change) and couldn’t have pictured the end result to be as good as it is. Rosa was the stylist. She listened, made suggestions, and delivered. I found my new stylist — thank you, Rosa!

Hard to get me to sit still but in Noemi’s (& the awesome crew) capable hands, I am time tripping and it feels like a few minutes with a good friend.
