These guys rock !- coffee and espresso’s always good !- Hector and Sadri(owner) always greet with a smile — sometimes line is a little too long, but hey, if you cant take 5 minutes out of your day to say hello to people… well rethink your life man!

Had the Ruben. It was okay. Not much meat and too much mustard. Not a great value for 7.50.

Great for strong fresh coffee and tasty treats(breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, etc.). Down to earth. Nice crowd. Very friendly place… sorta like a «cheers» coffee shop. Love it that they open at 6!

Unfortunately this is the only place open at 7 am, has a wide selection of espresso drinks and is close to my work otherwise I wouldn’t be going here. I have been here the last 3 days for coffee and all 3 experiences were shit. The same cashier has helped me and has been rude every single time. The first day I went there, I ordered a white mocha(and have gotten all 3 times) and it tasted like a latte, not sweet at ALL. 2nd day, cashier again was rude but white mocha tasted MUCH better and I ordered bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant. Ordered both of those today and this is why I’m writing the review. As the usual mentioned above with cashier, in addition to that, I guess there was another Rebecca behind me who ordered my sandwhich as well and I noticed that because she was behind me and got her food before me. So I went up to them and asked them where my food was. apparently they only had her order… no becca(mine). So I stand there waiting to make my point to hurry up and make it so I can go to work. They make it quickly and when it comes out, no apology or anything. You know, it would’ve been nice to hear something like«I’m so sorry about the confusion, the next one’s on us» or something that wouldn’t make me walk away pissed. No apology or anything. Just hands me my food. Fucking ridiculous service

Great spot, but I’m docking a star for the 80s MUSIC. Why do so many cafes just type«80’s Radio» into Pandora? How many times can I hear Cyndi Lauper and Tears for Fears? Please consider playing jazz, classical, old time, country… anything but 80s pop music! Thanks.

Love it here! Let’s list the features: 1) Cheap prices 2) The prices are all rounded so no dealing with pennies(yes, that deserves an extra point) 3) Excellent teas(with a good variety of choices) 4) Lively ambiance. 5) Outdoor seeting 5) Wi-fi, pastries, food, tables, and everything else you’d expect from a café.

Sucks to drive all the way to someplace and see that they have the wrong hours posted here.

I discovered this café while staying at an airbnb nearby and fell in love with it right away! Free wifi(as every café should have!), plenty of seating for a small café, and not only do they have drinks, but also a food menu! Their caesar salad is to die for with massive, crunchy croutons, and I love their jasmine mint iced tea. This place is so great that I would cross the Bay Bridge just for lunch here!

Nice café on college, I had a soy latte and a grilled cheese. Both were great, kept me warm in this cold.

This is a regular hangout and workspace in the area. Always good coffee, drinks and snacks. Easy to park… which can be an issue in this neighborhood.

Love it! Love it! Love it!!! Nice little café. I wish they had more seatings. They have wifi. I don’t mind paying for it; as long as they are fast, I’m good! They make good drinks. It’s opposite the public library. JFYI. Not an Ideal place to study if you want more space. But if you can adjust and squeeze, go for it!

Very tasty Thai iced coffee! Gulp gulp gulp(drink version of nom nom nom?)! Also very much appreciate the compostable plastic cups! Yay environment!

Not the best café especially in Oakland. Average with no special atmosphere or uniqueness. Spacing is crowded and it’s hard to get around. Coffee taste mediocre. They do have WiFi which is a plus.

This part of Oakland seems to be teeming with wealthy professionals and young families. The houses in the neighborhood are single story and quaint but all probably very nice. I wouldn’t be shocked if the entire area saw a boom in housing prices in the next couple of years, as SF becomes too expensive to raise children. The café itself is situated on a pleasant multiway intersection, and offers great fare and exotic beans($ 29.50 for a half pound of Jamaican isn’t too bad, right?). As my mission *is* to find the best croissant coffee combo, I’d have to give it three stars.

This is a very relaxed little coffee shop with lots of tables and outlets. It’s bright, and has really friendly people working here! It has a kind of casual diner feel that I really like. The coffee is totally ok, but sadly, nothing to write home about. With so many options in the area, this place is beloved for it’s service and mom-and-popness, maybe not the coffee. Which I get! I love that too! The toasted jalapeño bagels though? TOTALLY worth writing home about! MmmMMM…

I just moved down the block from Hudson Bay café and have been wanting to try it. I wasn’t disappointed! Its a refreshing change of scenery from the mostly hipster coffee shops in the neighborhood. Hudson had a mix of folks of various ages, families playing games, students with their computers, old friends meeting to chat. It had giant windows which make for a spacious feel inside even though it’s small. I had the house made chai. The spices were good but it wasn’t sweet and frothy as I like my chais to be. Maybe a coffee next time!

I’ve been going here almost every other day for over a year now & I can’t even explain how much I LOVE this place! 1st(*star) — It’s a «small business», independent, & local. Applaud for that! Also, that means good prices! 2nd *- Owners & employees, all very personable. They def take their time w/taking your order & making your drink right. I don’t know how they keep a smile on their face while dealing with caffeine heads all day! Great customer service! 3rd *- Their café is on the larger side. Cute, «homey» astmosphere. Lots of seating, inside & outside– usually busy & occupied in the morning. Big open windows /natural lighting. Music + free wifi. 4th *- Menu is sweet & simple, no extra BLAHBLAH that people don’t have time to read. They serve hot/cold drinks, food/pastries, soups/salads, candy/snacks. I’ve tried a few things from here; pastries, breakfast sandwiches, & lunch sandwiches… ALL great! 5th *- Their WHITEMOCHA! & if you’re not a big fan of hot drinks… WHITEMOCHAFRAPPE! OH. MY. GOD.

Decent café occupying a nice Rockridge corner location, with windowed walls that welcome in a lot of sun and offer a nice view of everything passing by, as well as a handful of outdoor tables that are perfect for lounging around with a newspaper or book over your latte. The coffee drinks are fairly average and the service perfunctory, and there are some better options for coffee nearby, but if you need to chill out quietly for an extended period, this isn’t a bad choice.
