Omega Termite & Pest Control

Omega was the group hired by the listing real estate agent for a house we purchased in Oakland; the inspection suggested that there was termite activity and that «further inspection was needed.» We called to schedule service as soon as we purchased the house; they were booking 4 weeks out. We also had them come back to do the «further inspection» where they basically said that there’s a portion of the house that’s inaccessible and would need to have the structural reinforcement of the foundation removed in order to access it for treatment which would cost an additional $ 1500. Why they couldn’t have said that on the original report is beyond me.
Fast forward and the day of our appointment comes. I took off a half day from work and they no-​showed. I called to follow up and they said, «sorry, we had to fire a guy.» So apparently they fire people without rescheduling their appointments. To me, a lack of customer service is the biggest red flag when it comes to using a service company. They made no amends for wasting my time and so I’ll be paying an extra amount to have a different group come inspect. Stay tuned for the price competitiveness!

1. Omega did two different inspections of my house in preparation for sale. The inspections were very thorough. There were a couple small findings. The realtor for the buyer must highly respect Omega because the offer did not include any contingencies!
2. Because the acrylic layer and stucco underneath are in almost perfect condition, I contacted Omega to find out if the patches from the bore hole investigation (15 two-​inch diam holes) could be improved aesthetically. They were under no obligation to perform more services.
Their Job Superintendent, Guy Schultz, stepped right up to the plate and said he would come over to see what he could do. Result: Stupendous! He blended them in so well, no one will ever notice they are there! Obviously, Omega cares about their work and keeping their great reputation.

I’ve been a customer of Omega Termite and Pest control since 2008. They have never disappointed me. They are professional, reliable, and always go over me beyond the call of duty. In addition, I’ve been treated like family every time I call in to make an appointment. I recently had an appointment with Guy, in their construction division, to give me an estimate. The estimate was sent back to me in a timely manner was very reasonable. He stuck to the issue of what I wanted to address and didn’t veer to other issues. I really appreciated that. Thank you Guy! I really like the owners of this company too. They are outstanding business owners and they do so much for the community.

I have used Omega for termite inspections for many years. Recently, I used them with clients that needed to have 6 windows replaced. Guy was in charge of the project and did a great job with the install and was super easy to work with. We also had some window trim that needed installing and they did a fabulous job of replicating the old style where necessary. Best of all, the job was finished right on the deadline!

Update. Ended up being 10.5 k and a month for a 4 day quote. No communication regarding inspections or asking what i wanted to replace the shower or deck with. These folks are horrible! I feel like i got shafted in many ways.

I work as an Office Manager for a business and we had Terry come to spray for ants on Friday. I was told that he would only spray the baseboards of the offices. When my coworkers and I returned to work Monday we saw that the computers and desks of the office areas were sprayed with the pesticide as well. I called Omega and asked to speak to a manager, I was directed to Jeremy. When I asked Jeremy if the pesticide was toxic and if we need to clean it with a certain solution to get rid of the residue, he laughed and said it was toxic. He then asked if we had any pregnant women or elderly employees and continued to laugh while I responded that we did not. I told him that the way the spray was conducted was not professional and unacceptable and I would like it to be handled properly. He said he would talk to Terry, but was unable to do anything else because he was not his supervisor. After I asked for his supervisor’s contact information so that I could reach him directly to resolve this he said he didn’t have it and proceeded to give me an email address I am not even sure if it is valid. All I wanted was an explanation as to why the office was covered with the pesticide besides the baseboards and to be compensated accordingly because cleaning the residue in multiple offices was time consuming. We had great service with them before this incident.

Mixed bag. The guys who came out to inspect an infestation were great and came up with s quick fix.
The guy who came by to spray for bugs was a disaster. I asked him if I should move or he could avoid spraying chemicals on our infant swing and playhouse and he said they weren’t in the way. That’s because they weren’t in his way since he decided to use his garden house and soak everything including these toys. When I watched him do this he said he didn’t get them. So we went outside and I showed him they were dripping went he just shrugged his shoulders than said he would rinse them off with our garden hose. This was appreciated but not the point.

Very thorough and professional. I am very satisfied with their service and would highly recommend this company

I had a good experience with Omega today. They came out and treated (= killed) a yellow jacket nest in the palm tree right next to the gate in and out of my property where there is an office and two housing units. Every time we walked in or out of the gate, yellow jackets would get disturbed and buzz around, and two people got stung before I took it seriously. Thank god neither one was allergic to their toxin, but I have at least a dozen people coming in and out of the gate every day, and because of the bad location, this could easily have had a very grim result.
Matt got me on the schedule for the the next day and Jeremy was the technician and he was excellent – personable, informative, and a pleasure to work with.
All the yellow jackets seem dead (he treated them before most of them were awake and out of the nest so it was an efficient operation) and I feel a lot better having taken care of this before more than two people were stung. I have 30 days to call them back if I see yellow jackets again.

Save yourself some stress & go with another company. I encountered this company about a year ago when i found myself in an apartment with a serious pest issue. I had the unfortunate experience of using Omega & was sorely disappointed with their results. Whats even worse is that when I attempted to contact them regarding the failed treatment, they ignored every phone call & email. They only started responding to me once they realized that I was not going to pay for theyre failed work. Whats even worse is that they began threatening me with collections & flat out lying about some bullshit warranty they offered that they claim i refused (even though i have it in writing that they do not offer a warranty). In short, save yourself some stress & go with another company. These people have no integrity & will charge you a lot of money for shotty service. Do not use them!!!

We had windows replaced, wood rot and other issues resolved through Omega. They worked on a large area in the front of our house and removed a lot of rotted wood, replaced our stucco and repainted, and did a great job! Guy, Santiago and his crew were very nice to work with and the house is looking great once again! Thanks Omega :)

Termite Inspection and Treatment at commercial property. Hired Metrotuned commercial real estate to contract services from Omega. Coordinated with Guy to schedule the work from Omega. Donald from Omega completed the treatment. Service and communication was excellent. The work completed by Donald was done in a professional manner and was all-​class, from prep to execution to clean up. Would highly recommend.

Omega was recommended to us by a friend and we are so happy that we chose to contact them.
Matt was so incredibly helpful in finding out exactly what our problem was and let us know what product we needed to order. I really appreciate the time that he took to help us out and we will definitely be using them in the future.

On Thanksgiving Day, we noticed some tiny holes in the window sill of our dining room window. Having been treated in the past for carpenter bees who had bored holes in our outside decks, we were very concerned about this, although the holes were much smaller that the holes from the carpenter bees.
We kept an eye on these holes to monitor any activity, and were surprised to see the holes almost double in number. Not wanting the situation to develop any further, we contacted Omega.
We called on Thursday and received an appointment for the next morning. The technician who responded (Ronald Costello) arrived promptly, was very professional and personable.
After examining the holes, he declared that we didn’t have a pest infestation at all. In checking the holes, he determined that his probe was encountering metal in every case. These were holes caused by nails that had been countersunk when the windows were installed, and which had been filled with wood filler Simply put, weather conditions over the years had caused the wood filler to come loose, leaving tiny holes in their wake.
I was so elated that it wasn’t anything major, that I was more than wiling to pay the cost of the service call. However, Ron declined, saying that he couldn’t accept payment for something that quick and simple, where no treatment was needed.
While I cannot evaluate the effectiveness of any treatment, since there wasn’t any, I totally respect him for his honesty and integrity. This speaks well for him and for his company.
Omega may be the last letter of the Greek alphabet, but they are first on our list of companies to call the next time we need any help from an exterminator.

Best service team I’ve encountered in well over a year. Team omega came through in spades; won’t go into every detail but trust me when I say omega helped me navigate the refinance of my home. If not for the pro’s at Omega I would have been dead in the water. From my first call with Tina I knew it would be a joy to work with this company. I was not disappointed. Between Guy, John, Nathan and finally Kathie I was hand held through the entire process. If I could give these guys more stars I would. Top notch service thank you

If you’re reading this you’re likely to agree that having a «pest» issue at your home is a total pain in the neck. When we first started noticing signs of being bitten, we blamed our cute kitten for bringing home fleas. Soon after we realized, that the little bugs were in fact, not fleas. Oh, the headaches of trying to figure out what the heck was pestering us & our futile attempts at solving it ourselves (from deep cleaning, maniacal laundering, spraying random pesticides, to sprinkling Borax everywhere…).
Feeling very defeated, confused (and bitten up), we resigned to the fact that it was time to call in the professionals. Admittedly, we were nervous because we didn’t know what to expect and didn’t want to be taken advantage of. After speaking with Matthew, he offered that if I could bring in a specimen of the bugs, that he’d try to identify it under the microscope. I was able to do so and we quickly identified it as a bird mite. He showed me photos, answered all my questions and made sire I left feeling informed. The cost of this service? Absolutely gratis. Mind you, this experience came after we paid a couple of other companies to misdiagnose us with having bed bugs (including one that confirmed it via telephone). From this interaction, we decided we trusted Omega to correctly handle our mite issue.
Our service technician, Josh, was awesome! Professional, kind, personable, informative, timely. He helped us with several rounds of setting traps, then on week three, fogged our entire five bedroom house, which has proven to be successful (and affordable). He was also patient with answering all of my room mates questions + concerns and the co-owner’s inquiries. This is a far cry from these other companies who right away told us that 1. We have bed bugs and 2. in order to get rid of them, we’d have to tent our house and vacate the premises for 3 — 4 days (to the tune of $ 2,000+)!
The mite problem did take a serious toll on the morale of our home, not to mention, made it hard to invite anyone over! We’re so glad the problem is behind us! Thank You Omega Pest Control for your wonderful help!

Ok, when I left my review I was a bit upset, and rambled on. So now I will keep it simple.
If you want pestcides mixed in your kitchen sink. Specifically, concentrated pesticide potentially splashing up onto/​into your faucet spout when the «technician» fills his sprayer in the same place you wash your food, and fill your drinking glass.
Then call Omega. There are at least 2 reasons this practice is illegal.

I do not work for another pest company. I did howevrr work in the industry for 12 years, so I know what I’m talking about.
There is supposed to be a 3 inch gap between the tank the tech was filling, and my spigot. He stuck my faucet inside his tank. Why would you risk contaminating my kitchen areas with your equiptment when there is a spigot you can use outside in the front and back?
Also, are you really saying the tank was clean? Really?
Even if there was no concentrate in that tank (which sounds like BS to me). The tank still had some mixed product in it. It is not as if your tech triple rinsed it after his last treatment. I certainly did not see him do that when he was here.
Furthermore, Omega made no attempt to contact me.
As to why I don’t treat myself. You cannot treat an ant infestation that has spread through a building from inside my unit, and along the front and back.

My realtor recommended Omega before putting my house on the market. John is a very, very thorough inspector and covered every inch of the house, including basement crawl spaces I didn’t think were big enough for a human. They were back to perform subterranean termite treatment, and for a fairly big project to repair dry rot and install a curb wall along a faulty grade.
Santiago and his construction crew were great and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. They were friendly toward my family and the neighbors and cleaned up after themselves very nicely each day. They went beyond the original scope of the project in a couple of areas without asking for more payment, and I felt very confident that they never cut any corners and did a high quality job. I was very happy with the result.

We just bought a house that needs a bit of work so we’ve have several contractors come give bids and do various work. I’ve had absolutely no problems with any of the companies EXCEPT Omega.
Everybody on the phone is very nice, but I haven’t been able to meet any of them in person. I’ve had three missed appointments in the span of five days. I have to take time off from work for these appointments so three unsuccessful appointments is a huge inconvenience.
1. I scheduled an appointment for the upcoming Monday, but after waiting over an hour I call Omega to find out that the appointment was actually scheduled for the following Monday. Thinking there could have been a chance it was my fault too, I rescheduled for Thursday.
2. On Thursday two hours before our appointment I get a call from Omega saying they cannot make my appointment and need to reschedule. I’ve already taken the time off on that day, but I agree to reschedule for the next day between 9 and 930 because he says he is free the entire day.
3. On Friday I again wait for over an hour for someone to show up but nobody does. At this point I’ve given up. I’m going with another company.

We had mice. Harry was not holding up his end of the family bargain and I know he knows how to hunt because I taught him myself right after we adopted him 12 years ago. I opened the dishwasher and a beady eyed little critter was peeking out, twitching its nose at me. I lifted up the then 3 or 4 month old Harry and put him in the dishwasher, where he dispatched the mouse. That was the last time we had mice and since the previous infestation led to the demise of our stove from chewed wires, we needed to take action. I did my Unilocal research and ended up calling Omega.
Josh came out w/​an assistant. Our options were to set out traps w/​three return visits to check the traps ($ 300) or to put out bait for $ 175. We don’t use poisons in our house or yard because I don’t want anything getting into the food chain and harming the red tail hawks and owls that feed on the local vermin, so the choice for us was simple and clear once I made sure they used snap traps rather than the sticky, inhumane ones, Josh checked under the house and discovered a space under the door to that space that would be large enough to admit mice. He set out traps and closed the space under the door. He returned to check the traps over successive weeks. We have had no further signs of mice and I’m satisfied.
