There is so much potential here. I hope it thrives! We need a bulletin board to be able to post our events and gatherings. The plastic bin was filled with things that were expired and it’s hard to shuffle through all that stuff in the little plastic bin. Today I had time to go ahead and go through it all and see what my community has to offer but on most days in downtown Oakland wouldn’t have time for that. We need good almond milk that’s not curdled. This place is so classy and really nice inside it has so much potential. There’s been multiple occasions that I and other community members have attempted to book events because this is where we want to put their money and just haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone. I went through the experience today in person of not being able to talk to anyone about it. Also we need to know what time this business is open. It says in at least seven places on the website that qulture is open till 4 it says that they are open till 4 on Unilocal and it says that they’re open till 4 on Facebook. I called and said that I would be staying until 3:30 after they asked how late I would be staying. and I was not told they close at 3 o’clock. I was not told them until I arrive and at that point it was time for me to leave and I had barely sat down. This was after driving very far to come to this place and paying for parking. What little time I had left was spent answering the worker’s question about where I saw or heard they are open. This felt uncomfortable and it was odd because they kept saying on their computer most of these sites said 3:00 Again this place has a ton of potential I want to support this space. If you are an owner in charge of this collective for business please post on your Facebook page what you would like from us your community how can we best support you? What way is best for you so we can rent out your space and feel that it’s our space and know that we are able to give to you and us. Thank you for being here. Let us help you help us by keeping you around.

I went to a wedding reception here. It was excellent. I love that this place exists and I want it to keep being supported!

New queer space in town! Currently only event space but they should have their café and cowork space built out soon! Qulture Collective is a space for queers and allies built by Terry & Julia(from Garden House) and Alyah(from Show & Tell). According to their website, there’ll be vendor pop-ups, coworking, workshop space and more. I’m so excited they’re creating a space for folks to gather & collaborate that’s focused on growing the community here in Oakland! Can’t wait to see what this develops into! :)
