dang! you guys are all full of HATE! i dunno why you guys are clownin’ this place! Its’ decently priced, for what they serve. They have ready-made bento boxes, if you wanna stop by and grab a bite on the way somewhere… and they have all the japanese drinks like Pocari Sweat and Green Tea. Service could be better, but does it matter when you’re stopping in for lunch? Stay away from the sushi, but their ramen is decent, and their shiyaki salmon and Aji area great! You pretty much get what you paid for

Hot Ramen on a cold day was good choice. Problem was, there wasn’t much in the bowl besides the ramen and broth. Let see, two tiny pieces of chashu, miniscule amounts of nori and green onion. All that for the«bargain» price of $ 5.99. Nope, never again that was a ripoff.

I keep trying to give this place a chance, it’s super close to our apartment, I love Japanese food, the one on Washington is great… so why is this one SOBAD? It’s like the forgotten bastard child of the original restaurant. When they were first opening up the guys from the Washington St. location would be in there cooking and helping the customers and everything was happy smiles, but I went in with some co-workers for lunch one day and there was one bewildered woman behind the counter and a young hispanic kid in the kitchen. Our lunches took almost an hour and one friend found a hair on his rice… I am pretty forgiving about that kind of thing, I find my hair and my cats’ hair in everything, so as long as it’s not mixed into the food and it’s just resting on top I can overlook it. I avoided the place for a while but my fiancé and I had a hankering so we walked over… there was a new totally bewildered woman working and not another soul in the joint. Fiancé(Will) and I grabbed some sushi and seaweed salad and two drinks from the cooler and ordered our dinners. Will paid and we sat down. The lady kept apologizing which I just find totally irritating– bringing our tea over, «Sorry sorry sorry» bringing the silverware«Sorry sorry sorry». The food was pretty«Eh», she made me terriyaki salmon and I asked for grilled, but again I am pretty forgiving. After the boringish meal we got up to leave and the woman starts screaming at us «NO!». What the fuck? Apparently in ESL class they taught her that the best way to get your point across is by hollering«JUICE, TWO, TWODOLLAR!» over and over. Turns out she didn’t charge us for everything when we paid at the counter so Will and I told her we wouldn’t get the sushi or the tea from the cooler and put it back. She took it out again and put it on the counter and started circling things on the menu and ringing them up in the register and on a calculator and screaming«NO!» over and over. We kept telling her to stop yelling and asked to speak to her manager and tried to get her name out of her but to no avail. Finally Will pulled out some Japanese from his memory banks and got her name(Akiyo I think). After much much screaming(from her not us) and us trying to tell her you can’t charge people over what you charged them when they brought up all their stuff and placed their order Will threw some more money at her and we left. Never to return. I wish I could give 0 stars. I had just been feeling bad for them because they were never very busy, but now I will have a party when they inevitably close. Fuck Suruki’s.
