They did not deliver the entire order. I called to notify them and I was yelled at by an angry older Asian woman. I was then rudely handed off to another man. He promised me to refund a portion of the order. Then I received 2 angry phone calls from the man. I could hardly hear him because I could still hear the angry Asian woman screaming in the background. I’ve made many orders in the past and I was happy with their food in the past. Their customer service is awful especially considering their prices. They were so hostile and angry over a $ 1.50 refund for their mistake. I will not give them any more of my business and I will tell everyone I know to avoid these people because they are unstable and belligerent. Update: I just noticed they shut down. Thank God they went out of business because they don’t know how to treat people.

My original plans after my first dinner in the city was to go home, but upon getting a call I thought why not do a double dinner. I’ll just get a small bite and drink. The original TWO restaurants we went to had about an hour wait. This was way to long for my hangry friends. We happened to walk by this place and it was almost completely empty besides one table. Growing up I was always told never go into an empty restaurant. What did we do? We went into an empty restaurant. We decided to order a small boat for the six of us. We were a little nervous because of the lack of foot traffic, but hey I have the next two days off so no big deal. It came with 6 side salads and 6 miso soups. When the boat came and I actually started to eat the sushi I was pleasantly surprised. The sashimi was surprisingly fresh and came with thick slices. The cooked rolls are pretty standard and had good variety. For $ 80 all 6 of us were well fed. Now that’s what I call getting good bang for your buck! Note this was my second dinner AND I still thought it was tasty.

Ordered delivery and I wasn’t too impressed. Delivery time was good. They should pack the sushi better because it was all falling apart. The sushi was definitely average not terrible but the ramen was the worst I have ever had in my life. Instant ramen tastes better. I felt ripped off after spending $ 40 on this meal. If you want good sushi delivered go to fortune restaurant fruitvale ave. You will thank me later.

Last time I had sushi delivered, they brought me a roll that looked like they killed some squid on top and drenched it in sriracha sauce. I was like… what the fuck is this? They said the new chef was making changes and I was like WHY this though? WHY? He had no answer. So they re-delivered the roll the way they used to do it, which is great. but all in all, with each delivery, the service, the orders getting fucked up… it just killed my love for this place.

Their«ramen» is comprised of those $ 0.20 freeze-dried instant packages with a bunch of chili oil, some soggy brown green onion slices, and a scrambled egg. It smelled like plastic and the noodles(delivered in the«broth») were congealed and chewy. The food was beyond foul(we threw it away) and I’m appalled to have paid money for it. I will never order anything from this trashy«restaurant» again. Furthermore, the delivery guy called three times just to say he would be delivering our food. Why? We know — we ordered delivery. We also have an ETA in-app. Just show up at our address and ring the bell like you’re supposed to — its even written in the instructions! Then when he finally arrived, he refused to come to the door so we had to walk around outside to find him.

Ordered via GrubHub on a rainy and cold night. 60 – 70 minutes was the quoted delivery time, but they came in less than a half hour! We ordered a sushi burrito, and it was MUCH better than Sushirrito in the city. We’ve ordered before — and the food has always been great. This now our go-to for GrubHub!

Delivery review: We like the dragon roll and the Washington roll! Plan on 1 hour delivery and you won’t starve. =) Always fresh. ++ special thanks to the delivery guy. He’s great.

Decent sushi for the price. Definitely will not go back unless I’m desperate(lol) but the service was good. Their sushi just didn’t have a lot of flavor and the rolls had too much rice. The best sushi in the Bay Area is Amakara in Dublin(in my humble opinion) so I am pretty much comparing every sushi restaurant to them :(

Tried this place for the first time last night. Great selection and service and the sushi was delicious. They even provided an amuse bouche!

WOW. Unfortunately I have to remove a bunch of stars. Ordered again from Eat 24 but this time the food took over an hour and a half. When the delivery guy did come he was calling us telling us to come down and get the food. The reason why people order food for delivery is so we can have food DELIVERED to our door. So we get our food, eager to eat because we waited over and hour and a half, and our food is stone cold. Not only that but there was a white hair in my tobiko nigiri! This is terrible service!!! Such a shame because I enjoyed the food the first time. Consistency is very important. Will never order from here again.

Sushi was great. I showed up around 6:00 p.m. on a Monday. They were still setting up the restaurant, and that was a little awkward. The fish was fresh and precision cut. I love Ahi and the ngiri was the right texture, color, and proportion. Their rolls were generously proportioned and well crafted. It was decently priced. The ambience is quiet. The lighting is a little too bright for my taste, but I liked the decoration of large scale Japanese prints on the wall.

SUSHIYAAAS! I strongly recommend the Yellowtail Lovers Special Roll. I’m so full I can hardly breathe.

The sake deal is what caught my attention when I showed up. The night began with disappointment. I was at Geta off Piedmont Ave at 9:15 and somewhat frustrated to find a closed sign in the window. A quick Unilocal scan of my iPhone showed that I could find a place nearby that was still open — Sushi-Ya. Fast forward to that sake deal I found upon arrival. That’s $ 1 sake Saturday, Sunday & Monday! All the pricing works for me. $ 4 nigiri. Simple rolls $ 5 and $ 10.50 for the fancy ones. Negihama and rock n roll + maguro and sake nigiri were all pretty good my first time here. Nice décor. Fast service. Plus they keep the place really clean. It’s not as hip as Kansai. Not as cheap as Geta. But Sushi-Ya fits right between them, literally and figuratively.

Walked in and was standing there not greeted for a while. So long that I was debating on just leaving. We were then told by the bar sushi chefs to just seat ourselves. We pick a seat, but I regret my choice because on the table was a waiter’s tray with a bunch of small plates and soy sauce saucers which they picked up for other tables — I guess there wasn’t enough space in the back. We ordered and we quickly got our sushi roll since the sushi chefs didn’t seem that busy but we literally waited another 15 mins for our next dish and another 10 mins for the next one. Even just them bringing a spoon for us took a long time. They definitely need more wait staff. Our sushi was just okay. The udon was so bland and boring looking. The vegetables and shrimp in our tempura were not fresh. Everything was disappointing and we definitely paid too much for it.

A perfectly decent place for sushi, serving up large cuts of reasonably fresh fish, all at reasonable prices. For me, nothing at all stood out on the bad side as in some other reviews here, although I wouldn’t necessarily gush with extreme praise. Everything was simply tasty, well-portioned, and worth the price. Moreover, the family that runs this place is super sweet. A totally acceptable choice for sushi if you’re in the area.

Great portion and reasonable price! Open on Sunday’s as well. We were going to Geta but it was closed, but it gave us an opportunity to try this place out. Love their Chirashi bowl and sashimi.

I love that this place has delivery. But every time I go in to eat at the restaurant, they ignore us! They say hi when we walk in and put us at a table and hand us menus and go back to prepping delivery orders. Usually takes an extra 30 minutes on top of a normal restaurant to eat. Pulling teeth to get the check because their backs are turned to the diners. Maybe I should have sat at the bar… Last night we ordered delivery(usually eat from here once every two weeks). I asked for 3 rolls and a crunch dragon roll. They gave us a cheap California roll instead of the crunch dragon. I order that roll every time and damn well now what it looks like. I call and tell them I never got that roll and the lady says no problem well bring it to you shortly. Then I get a call 5 minutes later from the delivery guy telling me my order was right. He argued with me, insisted he had that roll in the box. He refused to bring me my roll. Continued to argue with me. I refuse to buy here anymore. That was the last straw. It’s sad, I’ve been ordering from here for over 4 years. Not to mention I had a huge stomachache after I ate the sushi last night.

We were supposed to go to MUA for lunch but they were closed so our party of 5 said Sushi so I Unilocaled. They were all so friendly and had a decent crowd of full tables. That usually tells the story for a work week when many people are eating there. We were not disappointed all the staff friendly and answered all our parties questions even had the Toro that day since someone wanted to try it. I would definitely go back when working out of the Emeryville office. This may be in my top 10 but I have to frequent it a few more time to ensure service is still up to par. I had the short ribs actually and a dragon roll but everyone kind of shared one another’s dishes as I hoarded my ribs. I did share my dragon roll though as rolls became community property. All the other rolls they ordered were fresh and delicious great quality. My dragon roll was right up there with the best of the. I look forward to trying other items on the menu and taking my better half there to try it out if we are in the area together. I shall return. DMF08/31/2015

Took almost two hours to arrive after ordering through eat24. Did your kitchen catch on fire? Did one of your chefs die? Oh, and perhaps you could have call waiting instead of just a busy tone for a solid hour. Delivery guy said the kitchen was busy. Yes, that’s the ideal state of affairs for a restaurant. Learn how to expedite, hire a prep hand, but DONOT make your customers wait 110 minutes for food. Food finally arrived. The Ikura tastes suspicious, and the Goma-Ae(cooked spinach) is drenched in some sort of awful creamy, bland sauce. Your rice is overly vinegary, and all the rolls taste as though the chef’s hands were coated in wasabi. I fucking detest wasabi. For $ 36, I expected at least properly prepared food. This was a dismal disappointment that did not meet even the most basic requirements of Japanese cuisine. This is the Bay Area, peeps. You gotta step up your game. I have no clue how they have 4 stars. This place is now on my shit list.

Small little sushi place on Broadway. The food was decent. It was not crowded at all when we got there at 9 for dinner . All the sushi chefs were really welcoming coming in and all said goodbye as we left . If I wanted sushi where there’s no line for decent price, this is the spot :)

Finally came here with my mom for lunch. It’s great to know the owner/Master sushi chef(30+ years of experience)! The staff is friendly! We came here for the fresh raw sea cucumbers and sea squirts! We ordered a Dream roll(small portion) and a Hamachi roll! As a bonus, the chef gave us a specialty roll, l don’t know what’s inside but it was delicious!!! Koreans love their banchans, so he gave us a plate filled with seaweed salad, calamari salad, pickled scallions, pickled Japanese daikon, l think. It’s a bit pricey but worth it! Their delivery is up to 3 miles!!!

I liked this place. Although i wouldn’t call myself a Sushi connoisseur, i thought the sushi was tasty and reasonably priced. We were greeted immediately upon entering and seated shortly after. Not too busy on a Friday night. The place is open layout, bright, and clean. There was only one woman working the floor, so she was spreading herself thin. She did come to our table after about 10 mins to tell us she’d be a few more mins(she was also bagging the delivery orders) but shortly after that she came to take our order. Now she wasn’t the most attentive but she was really sweet and I could see that she had a lot of ground to cover so we cut her some slack. Food didn’t take long to arrive and we were happy with what we chose that night. We will return.

I wish I’d written a review about Sushi-ya when the previous ownership ran it. Great food, quick service, and nice ambiance if you choose to eat in. That was then. Aesthetically, the joint hasn’t changed much, but the food they’re kicking out is hot garbage. I wonder if Ohgane bought Will & Co out; the«beef teriyaki» is pretty much the same cut of meat and prep style as bulgogi(it used to be a much leaner cut of meat, chargrilled to a satisfying bite), the steamed vegetables taste like they re-steamed a bag of Birds Eye in the same water they use for their(awful) miso soup, and the gyoza taste like a knockoff of Ohgane’s mandu. They get +1 star for now because my pickup was friendly(not especially prompt though, I could’ve ordered, picked up, and started eating Geta within the span, and yet I didn’t) and reminded me of the old Sushi-ya. Of all my 3-item combination dinner w/miso and salad, the only things I finished were the potstickers and the salad, the latter of which I am starting to regret in retrospect. tl;dr — Until the new ownership figures out how to cook Japanese food, don’t bother.

Service: From the moment I walked in, I was greeted happily and ushered to a seat of my choice. I told the server I was waiting on a friend and he offered me complimentary tea shortly afterwards and even made conversation with me as he saw that I had been waiting for a while. Afterwards, he left me alone and didn’t pester me to place an order. Food: Absolutely delicious! The amount was generous and the sushi was fresh. Our hamachi and salmon nigiri were extremely delicious and the amount was well worth the $ 5. The rolls we got were: The Pink Dragon, XXX roll, and the Orange Blossom. The Pink Dragon definitely was our favorite as the lemon added a flavorful kick. Price: The rolls we got averaged to about $ 10.50 each. Nigiri was 2/$ 5. Well worth it as the portions were plentiful!
