The food was phenomenal! That said service was slow. 20 mins for the 1st round of drinks, 30 mind for apps. Then when we were ordering they had an oyster platter that said fries, coleslaw, and salad. When we asked for them the server(who was very nice) said it was really only two sides but he could get his manager. Manager came. ‘Is someone looking for me?” 30’ish yrs old, short blond.female. Purple shirt. I didn’t catch her name. I don’t think she gave it. She continually insisted it was only two even though the menu clearly says«and salad». She ended with«we will do it today but in the future if you ever come back here it will only be two«. She was Rude and very condensending. She was even snotty when asked where the bathroom was my one our guests who didn’t witness the original exchange but said whos the snotty blond? We meet family in Ocala frequently and we were excited to continue to meet and eat at Harry’s but I guess no more if that’s how their management behaves. Too bad.

I went to Harry’s for the second time in a few weeks and it just keeps getting better! The first time I went for dinner I had chicken and grits w/blackened chicken and greens. So yummy! We got the oreo beignets for a friends birthday, and those were just mediocre. Howwwwwever. I visited again for lunch last week and I was even more impressed! I mistakenly SHARED the bacon jam burger and mahi tacos with my better half. While the tacos were very very good, that burger was on another level. The bacon jam made it so perfectly sweet and savory and one half just wasn’t enough. It will be hard to order anything but that next time! I also finished the meal with a slice of key lime pie, which was as pretty as it was tasty! I can’t wait to go back!

We went to dinner at Harry’s and met up with friends. There was a wait for a table, but not too bad(30 minutes). The fact that there was a line when we arrive and when we left tells you that this is a favorite for the locals! The menu had a lot of seafood options, many with a Cajun/New Orleans twist. Everything we tried was very good, but it wasn’t anywhere near as spicy as you’d get in New Orleans. The portion sizes were good, the quality of ingredients was good, and the flavor was very good! They had a decent selection of tap beers, including one from the local microbrewery, which was very good! Wine selection was somewhat limited but we liked the one we tried. The service was friendly, and we got our meal pretty fast considering the place was packed and on a 30 minute wait. The only difficult part all night was finding parking, which is somewhat limited around the town square. With the brick walls and tiled ceiling the décor was nice, but it was a little loud. Not good for a quiet meal, but excellent for going out with a group. In all a nice place. We’ll be back.

Really good food worth the wait. We had fried pickles and bread with Boursin to start, gumbo which was my favorite, then shrimp with scallops. Great atmosphere and our waiter Dave was really attentive and knowledgable about the menu. If you’re visiting Ocala Harry’s is a must!

So tonight I have returned to give Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grill another chance. To be honest, their corporate office asked me to give them another try. So here I am. I was greeted promptly and seated within a couple of minutes. Not the busiest night, but very on the ball. My server was at my table within 5 minutes to take my drink order. When I asked her to describe the Crab Crusted Redfish Royale she described a piece of redfish with a Crab cake on top. Well I ordered it anyway. What arrived was an actual crab crusted piece of redfish. All was properly prepared atop the smashed potatoes, corn maque choux, and Orleans bur Blanc. The dish was attractive and had great texture and flavor. The Manager Josh came by to see if everything was alright. Aft r talking for a minute he recognized me. I’m sure he was glad that AJ had put out a quality entrée. On second trip, Harry’s has measured up. The test will be the next trip to Ocala. I gave the three stars since the food and service were good. The servers need to learn their food a little better and though the fish and potatoe portion were good, the corn was a bit heavy. But I will be back. For the money tonight was very good.

Super good food and great environment! We had the trio appetizer and shared the crab cakes. Both were generous portions and very delicious! The food is Louisiana style!

Looking to kick your lunch up a notch or two? Then consider Harry’s! Lunch started with a serving of warm fresh bread. The main course was Harry’s Style Chicken with a side of red beans and rice. A plumb juicy portion of chicken smothered in all sorts of goodness. The red beans and rice reminded me of New Orleans. The ambiance is a throw back to the classy joints of years gone by. Our waitress was spot-on, never were our glasses empty not the bread dish empty.

It’s a franchise. Didn’t care for the appetizers. We ordered the fondue which ended up being glob of melted american cheese. Disgusting. The entrees were decent. The waitstaff was good but that’s to be expected in Ocala. Ordered a bullet on the rocks and got charged $ 1 for the rocks. The first time I’ve seen«rocks» on the receipt as a surcharge. I guess there is a first time for everything. ha!

Went there last night. Have been there many times over the years. Ordered Red Fish. Told my wife and Aunt Susan that the fish was dry. Overlooked. Aunt Susan told Eric our waiter that my fish was dry. Eric offered to bring another entrée. I really didn’t want to wait that long and not to bother. they refused to charge me for my meal. I didn’t expect that, nor did I ask for it. You can’t be perfect all the time. I understand that. This was a rare occasion. I’ve always been pleased in the past and will return

Excellent Chicken and Shrimp Pasta Shells for my husband, for me, really tasty Pork Loin with Peapods. Good hot bread with lots of garlic in the butter. They don’t stint on the seasoning. Service was sos-so, slowing as the restaurant filled, it’s very popular. Sadly, they did not have the peach cobbler. Restrooms were clean. Nice, lively jazz playing with nice artwork on the walls. Very reasonably priced. We found this was one of the five Harry ’ s in their chain, definitely as good as the Harry ’ s in St. Augustine, FL

Met my parents in Ocala on a road trip w/my girl. The food was very good. I tried the crab cakes, trout, red fish, blackened chicken and collared greens. Crab cakes and collareds were the standouts. The outdoor patio area was perfect. We watched the brigade of prom dress and tux wearing young lovers take fierce pics under the gazebo before everyone would get lucky. Before photos are always much more dignified… There were scantily clad humans wandering the sidewalks and my dad certainly enjoyed the view. Also, a crazy shirtless cowboy hat wearing homeless guy walked back and forth with his beautiful German Shepherd. The lunch was good but when our waiter’s break came, she had us pay the bill before we were finished and though we stayed for awhile, they didn’t have anyone water us. I know, I know, first world problems. I decided to go ask for more water for the table, which the wait staff seemed to think was a big imposition. I guess if the food is good at a restaurant, the wait staff doesn’t need to be on their game. Not a bad restaurant, but the New Orleans theme(think relaxed environment and comfort food) only applies to the cuisine and doesn’t extend to the attitude of the employees.

Went there the other afternoon with my family and the service was fast and we were seated with having to wait. Our waitress was very attentive and never had an issue. Half of us had the shrimp and scallops Orleans and the other half had the jambalaya. So yummy! And the butter they give with the bread is supper yummy too. Harry’s has always been a favorite of mine since I was little, I’ve been here with a big party for birthdays and the staff has always been welcoming and the food fast. If you want fast service come early to beat the dinner crowd.

Our table ran the gamut, and we like to share everything, so I tasted a lot of different items from the menu. Everything was top notch! I loved their version of fried green tomatoes with feta on them. The Jazzy Trio with shrimp, crawfish, and calamari in a spicy New Orleans style sauce with really good. My wife had shrimp and grits that were probably the best I have ever tasted. I had the Crab Crusted Redfish Royale, it was amazing. I tasted fried Catfish, fried calamari, Salmon, and like I said everything was superb. The bar had Blue Moon on tap which made me happy. They also had some other great draft beers. My wife loved their Bloody Mary. We are both going to try the Mojito Martinis on our next visit. Lastly, service was outstanding and the restaurant was very clean. We are true fans of Harry’s and are very much looking forward to out return visit.

Harry’s far exceeds it’s culinary expectations!!! She Crab Soup: Grated celery just as it should be, a decent amount of crab. Blackened Red Fish: Flavorful, Flaky w/a lemon cream sauce that is smooth and not acidic. Bananas Foster: Warm boat of liqueurs w/sliced bananas to pour over Cinnamoned vanilla ice cream. The only thing that could of been better was if the Foster was flambé’. Server Michelle knew the menu upside down and backwards and couldn’t of been more attentive. Clean restrooms but the booth seats could of been wiped down. Sit on the patio on a nice evening and people watch. Have fun! Let the good times roll!!!
