Nice vegan duffins tastes sort of like a brownie. They do not have a fryer so don’t expect the fried varieties but their vegan duffins are good!

I love this place because I was able to get lunch for breakfast! I had a veggie burger with hummus, salad and fresh fruit; and a kale/carrot/celery juice. My husband had an omlette and I had some of his home fries — best home fries I ever had in my life. The potatoes were so fresh and so were the onions. We ate outside, but when I went inside to get a choice, it was super cool to hear great music like The Archies playing«Sugar Sugar.» They also sold kombucha. Next trip to Ocean City, I will be back!

Positives 1. Our kids are super picky and we have one who eats gluten-free. This place was a home run, grand slam! Our 7 year old got a turkey burger on the gluten-free hoagie bun. She said it was«amazing» and asked if we could come back the next time we are at the boardwalk. 2. The balsamic chicken sandwich was great! 3. Affordable prices for the Ocean City Boardwalk! 4. Our sever was polite and attentive. Drawbacks 1. Limited seating inside 2. It’s tucked back; still on the boardwalk, but easy to miss.

My family has been going here for years. We love the banana whips. I’m a big fan of their gluten free options. It’s a great place to stop at during your morning bike ride.

Walk the Ocean City boardwalk and like any NJ shore town boardwalk you can find pizza and deep fried everything. Where to find something delicious AND healthy? This place. A number of vegan and gluten-free items are on the menu, but everything is freshly made and includes fruit, veggies, and/or grains. Plus you can sit outside and enjoy the ambience.

I will preface this with the fact that I am celiac and lactose-intolerant. When my boyfriend and I went to the beach yesterday, I was a little fretful, because this was going to be my first time dining in Ocean City, NJ since my Celiac diagnosis… Thinking of memories of French fried foods, funnel cake, crab cakes, pizza and all sorts of delicious things I can no longer eat had me a little wary. After seeing the lines at Brown’s(I thought I could at least have some eggs or something before hitting the beach), my boyfriend suggested we get smoothies for breakfast if we could find a safe version, so we could fill up and hit the beach faster! A quick search on Unilocal revealed this place to me!! The Bashful Banana! Dairy-free smoothies, banana«whips»(think like custard but without all the bad calories and milk!), a HUGE selection of gluten-free baked goods, gluten-free alternatives to breads, rolls, and wraps for every item on their menu!!! Seriously a little spot of heaven. We had our smoothies for breakfast and went back for lunch!!! My boyfriend(who has no allergies), raved about his salmon burger and I had an amazing veggie burger with hummus and really delicious gf bread… SO pleased. My boyfriend has already said it’d be worth the trip back to OCNJ before the end of the season, just to have more of their food. Servers were friendly, knowledgable and efficient. If you’re down to the shore and have allergies or not, this was a stress-free, delicious and delightful dining experience. If I could give you one hundred stars, I would. Thank you, Bashful Banana!

If you have allergens or diet restrictions this is your spot! The turkey almond sandwich on ciabatta was so yummy and dairy free:) p. s they roast the turkey on site! I love that the vegan options are labeled, but there are plenty of diary free options beyond that. The«duffins» are delish baked donuts that my family loved(also dairy free) Not to mention the banana whips with dairy free chocolate chips and fudge sauce. Heaven. If you are on the OC Boardwalk and don’t want to eat crap that makes you feel bad but want treats and good eats, hit up the Bashful Banana! O… Lots of gluten free as well!

I tried the Heaven on Earth Brownie sundae Whip and the Banana Split Whip on my last trip to the Boardwalk. Brownie was airy and tasteless, Chocolate syrup is crappy Hersey’s or equivalent, kinda ruined the whip for me. The banana split whip was good with the exception again of the terrible chocolate syrup. The whip in it self is an interesting treat it is not as satisfying as a frozen custard or ice cream. It’s more nutritious sense there are fruits in it but it is still comparable in terms of calories to ice cream or frozen custard, don’t think you’re doing yourself a big favor by choosing this over the other frozen treats. The portions are huge so plan on splitting these. Bananna split can easily feed 3.

Wow wow wow! This dairy allergic gal was feeling so wistful watching all the frozen custard go by on the boardwalk — until I stopped here for banana whip with vegan hot fudge and almonds. AMAZING! Delicious and served by super helpful, friendly guys who made great suggestions for toppings. They know their stuff and were fun to talk with. Go get this vegan deliciousness now!

This place is a definitely a hidden gem nestled off of the boardwalk. It’s refreshing to be able to see a menu that doesn’t have oily, fried, junk on it like most of the places you see as you search for a place to eat. Being a health nut, I’m always searching for a restaurant that I can eat at without feeling guilty. The menu ranges from wraps, to salads, to burgers, to burritos. There’s something for everyone — even the kids! The rice and bean vegan burrito has to be my ultimate favorite. I order it every time I’m down the shore. It always comes out hot and fresh. You get a taste of chewy warm deliciousness mixed with the flavorful salsa that comes along with it. The salsa is refreshingly cool so it plays off the burrito well. Definitely give this a try even if you aren’t vegan or vegetarian! Regarding the banana ice cream, I’m not necessarily a fan. I’ve eaten my share of bananas and have made my own ice cream at home, so I had some high expectations. I just feel that the banana flavor is too overpowering and leaves a strong taste in my mouth. The last few times I’ve eaten at Bashful Banana I’ve had wonderful service, but the last time I didn’t have quite a wonderful experience. After a day on the beach, my friend and I were starving. We sat down and waited for about 15 minutes and still no one came out to wait on us, so we went inside to ask if someone would be out. Although the workers said someone would be out to help us, we waited another 15 minutes before we were helped. This didn’t quite help my hangry mood. But other than that experience, the service has been fairly pleasant the past times we’ve eaten there. The waitresses are always smiling and happy which is a plus. The pricing is cheap, so you get great food for a nice price.

the Banana Whip is just a mashed banana with your choice of blended in fruit or other toppings. I make smoothies with frozen bananas all the time at home so it was a treat to find something similar that is all fruit. Great alternative to ice cream. A little pricey at $ 6 a pop with 2 toppings.

While everyone else is eating custard and candy and ice cream, make the smart(and seriously delicious) choice and get one of their banana whips for your post-day-in-the-sun treat. I tried the raspberry flavored whip, with fresh raspberries on top and whipped cream. Couldn’t even deal with how amazing it was. Wanted more. Wanted to make it at home, but not sure how to achieve the creaminess and perfect flavors that these guys have down to a science. Boyfriend got the sundae, which came complete with a fruit based(vegan!) hot fudge sauce(PROTIP: It’s from Wax Orchard and you can buy it online!). Another dish to fall in love with on a balmy summer night. Plenty of outdoor seating when we were there — though it was early in the summer season. We will be back, every year we’re in Ocean City — and probably multiple times every trip!

I am an OC local and for years this was a favorite spot especially because of their healthier options and the banana whips. Yet, I am writing this seconds after dealing with an issue in Bashful Banana. I went to Huli Grill(which is the best on Colony walk) and my girlfriend went to bashful hoping we would be able to enjoy lunch together. By the time I had finished my lunch 25 mins later, she has yet to get the food. I come in and demand money back. The girls are frantic and laughing(thinking this is funny) and say the food is finally up. We reluctantly accept and receive no compensation. Furthermore they then have the audacity to charge my girlfriend an extra 50 cents for extra dressing after their mistakes!!! Won’t even be going back for banana whips anymore — I make better ones at home with the Yonanas machine off Amazon for $ 25.

I initially was interested in this little OC treasure because the name made me laugh. I was pleasantly surprised to find tons of vegetarian and vegan options and everything delicious. I had a very delicious scrammed egg breakfast, followed by a banana whip. Loved it all! Will be going back to try lunch tomorrow! Definitely recommend to vegetarian/vegan/lovers of delicious food on the boardwalk!

Love, love LOVE this place. Slightly hidden away on ocean city boardwalk it’s a fabulous find for all ages. I brought my girls here when they were younger and came last weekend with my best friend and her new granddaughter Babies and toddlers love it! The frozen banana ‘ice cream’ is just that. A frozen banana put through a contraption that looks like a sausage press. The end product is amazingly just like banana ice cream. LOVETHE Banana Split ! Must try! Smoothies are awesome also. Lunch is wonderful. 5. Stars!

One of the few places in OC with organic, vegan and lean meat options. I got the Mexican Taco Salad this time w/ground turkey, perfectly seasoned meat & delicious. Only improvement would be to sub the corn tortillas for organic blue corn tortillas. Otherwise, delicious… cleaned my plate! Coming back for banana whip!

This is the healthy place to eat on the boardwalk. I mean — ya just know that most of the food you’re eating and enjoying on the boardwalk is prob taking some days off your life … but not what you partake of at the Bashful Banana. They have some vegetarian and vegan options and everything they serve just looks healthier, But the real reason to hit this eatery up is for their Banana Whips. Made entirely from bananas this frozen concoction is a delicious alternative to ice cream. And they have a long list of toppings to tailor your order to your liking. So just remember these two words: Banana Whip

I love this place so much! The food is great, and the baked goods are awesome! So cheap too! I bough a million diff baked goods and it didn’t break the wallet! Their Duffins are the best though! It’s a donut and Muffin combo! So good! You can’t get a vegan treat like that for so cheap! And it’s low cal compared to some of those other offerings on the boardwalk. I also got the kiddie size banana whip(which I swear the kiddie size is practically bigger than the small size), with peanut and in house made chocolate. Sooo good!!! Mmm! So many different healthy options with all the vegan stuff! The veggie chili is also so good! This place is a must go!
