I took my husband here for his special birthday dinner. We enjoyed the splendid sunset scenes, accompanied musically by 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky! The bartenders were friendly and helpful, from the front door to the fine dining area, we were treated well. The food and drinks were DELISH — and major shout outs to our server(in the bar), Brittany, and Robin, in the fine dining room. We will be back! As we were leaving, they were just getting ready to do some major dancing in the club section… the DJ had it going on! We’ll return for the live band one day soon! Keep up the great service, food, and atmosphere!

Fager’s island has two very different vibes-for their fine dining space upstairs and the more clubby space downstairs. We wanted the best of both worlds and went to dinner first, and sat on the balcony where you can catch a beautiful sunset. Service was friendly and they were very understanding when half of our party who was supposed to be late wound up as no-shows. They have really affordable house wine if you look for the deal, and even let us take the bottle with us since we weren’t able to finish it! I think everyone was fairly happy with their order, as the seafood was very fresh. The downstairs was a full on club with people mostly in their 20s. If you want to smoke you had to take a decent walk down the dock to a gazebo area. There are a few different bars and both indoor and outdoor space. The music was blasting, as you would expect with a top 40 variety.

I have been to Fager’s Island many times over the years. In my early 20’s, it was one of our go-to spots, but that has changed it bit. The last few times I have been there I have had to wait in line for an exceptionally long time(this is typical for most of the big OCMD bars after about 10PM), but once inside, I had to wrestle my way to the bar for a drink. They serve up only the finest well drinks, shots and ML and BLs. The music is so loud, forget about having any sort of conversation, the only thing left to do is hit the packed dance floor to get pushed around until your drink spills and it is time to go buy another one… There is one room with a cover band, and another room with a DJ, they are connected by a small walkway that typically causes the crowd to bottleneck. The bachelorette presence at Fager’s Island is intense every weekend. They give out light-up devil horn headbands to the bachelorette’s, which brings them flocking. If you are a dude, this might be enticing but for us females, it just means longer lines at the already small bathrooms. Several years ago, I ate dinner on their deck, the food left much to be desired. Over salted fish, overly buttered mashed potatoes and«seasonal vegetables»(that were not actually in season). After writing this review, I am not sure why I initially planned on giving them 3 stars. They have been downgraded to 2 stars. There are so many bars in OCMD to pick from, there is really no need to go to Fager’s Island.

We went here for my wife’s surprise 30th birthday dinner. We have been here several times and the food is always delicious. On this night I had the flounder with crab imperial. Cooked to perfection! My wife had the 14oz steak topped with encrusted blue cheese. She said it absolutely delicious. My one complaint on this dinner was our waiter. We all had a few drinks prior to ordering. After dinner we had another round and waiting for the desert menu when he returned with the check. He never even offered desert to us. We jokingly said amongst ourselves that we were getting kicked out. He obviously heard us and it didn’t seem to care. As for our experience here you would never go wrong with Fager’s island and I have never had a bad experience here. But if I return and have this waiter I will ask for another one.

I got a salad with steak and avocado and vinaigrette. While admittedly this is a fairly odd meal choice for me, the dish was just not up to high quality standards. This salad was basically just greens, steak, and avocado. The vinaigrette served alongside was laughably acidic. There was very little balance or complexity of flavor, which indeed dealt a fatal blow to the meal. If you’re going to serve such a scant salad as an entrée, the dressing had better blow me out of the water. Unfortunately, it disappointed. I was left with a sad puddle of wilted greens crying out for mercy in an acid bath of vinegar that seared the palette just as harshly as the eye. The steak was unimpressive, and not cooked to temperature. The avocado was neither fresh nor adequately seasoned. Come to Fager’s and grab a Miller lite, watch the sunset, and hustle out to find some real food elsewhere. 2⁄5 will not return.

I have so many issues with this place! 1. The food is crazy over priced. It’s a good ten dollars more for every entrée than any other place in ocean city. 2. The last time I went their was for a bachelorette party and our waiter was disgusting and degrading to us. He blatantly hit on the bride and asked for our phone numbers it was awful. He even bought us all shots and told us how he always hooks up with bachelorette party’s every weekend. Absolutely gross. 3. It took us over 2 hours to eat here from start to finish. 4. Those of us that ordered alcoholic mixed drinks noticed that they were insanely strong. They were essentially just liquor over ice in a huge glass. I would not recommend this place at all. The food wasn’t bad but at the same time it wasn’t great. I will never go back.

My wife and I ate in the fine dining. We had a great table right by the window to watch the amazing sunset!!! The food was very good. I had the crab bisque and prime rib. The prime rib was cooked perfect. My wife had the salmon. The salmon was very good but the basmati rice was overcooked The only other negative thing I would have to say is they need to train their busboys a little more. In a white tablecloth restaurant with expensive food prices you should not take the dirty silverware off the plate and say you’re going to need this for later

We were planning a trip to Ocean City and were initially attracted to the excellent happy hour specials Fagers Island offered from 2 – 7; lots of food and drink specials. Right when we got into town, we headed over to have lunch. We got a couple of orange crushes(no dice on the grapefruit crush, WAY too sweet) and I decided on the house salad add crabcake and my bf got the crabcake sandwich and said it was fine. None of the drinks on the menu seemed appealing, btw. On the menu it listed, by the crabcake $ 12(with the house salad being $ 8), which would seem to the common man that means the house salad with the crabcake is $ 12. INSTEAD, they charged us $ 8 for the salad AND $ 12 for one single, puny crabcake. So basically I had a $ 20 house salad. Blow me. We returned for their happy hour specials the next day at 2pm, ordered EVERYTHING on the HH menu(wings, buffalo tenders, fish tacos, fried oysters, fried zuchinni and powerhouse wrap) and with the exception of the wrap, everything was shit. All of it. As terrible and deep fried as you can imagine. We didn’t even eat that much of it and already felt our lives ending as we were consuming it. Just terrible, empty food. Additionally, the atmosphere was completely and totally dead each time we were there. Yeah, I understand its a random weekday afternoon, but with ocean views like that, you’d think there’d be a livelier scene! We soon found out that, a few streets down at Mackeys, THAT is where the party’s at! All times of day, morning, noon and night. In summary, Fager’s Island is lame, the food is shit, and you can actually sit down at tables in the sand at Mackey’s so I can’t see much of a reason to come here.

A co– worker recommended Fagers Island to me so we decided to try it on our trip to Ocean City Md. It was a great choice! Fagers Island has 2 dining areas– the casual patio and the fine dining. We choose the fine dining. The room has huge windows with an expansive view of the bay. Service Was excellent. Food was delicious. Particularly liked the caprese stack– heirloom tomatoes layered with mozzarella cheese and crabmeat and finished with a balsamic reduction. The most enjoyable part of the meal was the sunset. Just As the sun went down, the 1812 overture started playing and as the canons started shooting, the sun faded out of view and a huge amount of confetti streamers were released. What a wonderful way to end the day!

My girlfriend and I were in need of some dinner. We walked here from our hotel room, and a man in a golf cart picked us up and shuttled us the rest of the way. Thought that was very cool and convenient. We got there and we decided to buy into the«Fine Dining» which was great. Our server was always there checking on us and our balcony view of the bay was absolutely gorgeous. For the two of us we got an app, 2 drink drinks and a main dish for $ 100. And when we were done we went downstairs with our drinks and continued to dig deeper into an already amazing night. I would come here again. PS– Chilean Sea Bass is fuckin bangin!

As a family, we traditionally go to Fager’s every year on vacation. We have a large family that can eat and anytime anyone can accommodate us then it’s a plus. They always have enough menu choices that are there to choose from each year then a few new ones as well. It’s always great to go to a later dinner than an earlier one. Obviously it’s recommended to go at sunset so you can be apart of their own tradition of 1812 overture being played at sunset. The waiters and waitresses always impress me. According to other reviewers, it’s insane to me that they say service is bad. The staff is just right — perfect timing, not overbearing, and is personable that doesn’t seemed forced. It’s a great space that they’ve capitalized on over many years. They have fine dining, an outside area and inside bar area and more. Must be the reason it’s been featured in a movie and been around for so long when other restaurants come and go.

Horrible management. I went with my girlfriend’s family and we were held up and carded on the way in. The bouncer claimed her Washington State ID was a fake and called his manager. After holding up the family for 10 minutes the manager looked at it for 30 seconds, accused her of using a fake and refused to serve any of us. Seriously? We were with her parents and older sister, not a group of 20-somethings trying to get into the bar. None of us have any intention of returning.

Happy hour 2−6pm Tuesday thru Sunday. 3 Fried oysters & fries and house Chardonnay for $ 10 who can beat that. The waitress was friendly and attentive. From the regular menu the Oyster sampler and Lobster tempura were delicious too

This place is beautiful and really fun! The same notorious dude on a golf cart will pick you up and drive you to the restaurant. Make sure you tip him! The inside has many different rooms: one for dancing, different bar areas, and a performance area. The patio is extensive and has an amazing view overlooking the bay and at the gondola. There’s a classy upstairs dining area, too. My family and I sat outside on the patio. Many of us had the crab cakes which were SO good. Also, the chunky crab dip is also to die for. The oysters were super fresh. My martini was out of this world! I had The Caribbean. Two, actually! For dessert, we had some type of chocolate mousse cake that was amazing. Our server was super friendly. Before eating dessert, my dad and I hit up the dance floor which was super fun! After dinner we all took pictures in the gondola and then bought shirts in the gift store. We road back to our car with the cool dude in the golf cart. It was a really great time!

The fine dining, not so fine. Figures Island is all about the view and location. Their creations on the fine dining side are just a bit off. I really like lunch here on the casual side but cannot recommend spending your hard-earned money on the fine dining part. My mom and I went in one evening and moved into the fine dining side because it was so loud on the casual side. The view and the ambience were nice and it was quiet. The service was good too! We had a starter course of tomato mozzarella and balsamic vinegar which was very good and simply prepared. The steak was also good and cooked as requested. I ordered a piece of sockeye salmon from Alaska. It was previously frozen but that was OK with me. The sauce and sides were uninspired. It’s just a bit overpriced for what you get. The wine list is good and has some different options. I had a great glass of white burgundy from France.

Pretty good beach bar food and tasty drinks but the view I mean cmon. It’s perfect. Crab dip was acceptable but the oysters were class. Big fresh guys from the eastern shore. Enjoy the steak I had with a crab cake but the cake was on the small side. That’s not what up.

This review is for the drinks and experience(not food). We had a lot of fun here. There were so many bars and spaces to hang out. The live bands were a lot of fun. The dance floors were hopping and there were lots of people dancing. Didn’t try the food there, so can’t review it. One annoying thing is that they don’t have the bars linked up, so if you open a tab at one, then you have to go back to that one, or open multiple tabs.

Awful service. Awful food. Fager’s looked promising. It was very crowded for a Tuesday night. They had a live band tonight which was nice. We walked in and told them we would like to do casual dining. The hostess told us it was seat yourself. We sat close to the bar. You couldn’t miss us. We saw all the servers hanging out and chatting around the bar. We finally flagged down a busser and he got us a server. She was awful. She gave us menus and told us she would be back. She didn’t take our beverage order or offer us water. She headed to the bar area to chat with another server. By the time she came back to our table we placed our entire order. I ordered the Cuban fish tacos and my husband had the chicken BLT. The tacos sucked. The fish tasted like it was out of the freezer. It was small and lacked flavor. My husband said his meal was ok. I think this is a good happy hour place for drinks and the atmosphere. If you’re hungry, go somewhere else.

After driving up and down Coastal Hwy and not finding many restaurants open(seriously nothing!), we went back to our spot where we were staying and decided to give Fager’s a try. Walking across the walkway bridge to reach this bay side restaurant was nice, especially with the sunset. Unless you’re eating in fine dining you can seat yourself. We decided to sit close to the bay which pretty much meant burgers were on the menu. We had a great view of the bay! Honestly, the food was meh… We placed our order for a veggie burger and a chicken quesadilla. Although the service was good, the food fell seriously flat.
