Ike’s Famous Crabcakes

Delicious monster fried clams (yeah, they’re chewy — though honestly I’ve yet to have clams that weren’t) and fresh chips (the crisps kind, not fries). I tried the creamy red pepper sauce and the creamy horseradish sauce. While delicious, the saouces are a little runnier than I’m used to, so it’s probably a good idea to ask for small cups for easier dipping. They were pretty mild in terms of spiciness.
The server I had was very friendly and the bathroom was clean. I have no complaints about this place.

My husband and I came here last year for the first time and we each had the crab cake sandwich. I am not super adventurous with food, especially when it comes to trying new things on the boardwalk, but I was not disappointed! The crab cake sandwich was so tasty– the crab cake wasn’t filled with junk, it tasted just like fresh crab with only a few added spices/​seasoning. The bun was very tasty and fresh. The side chips were ok, nothing to write home about, but were made even better with the homemade sauces! We went again today and I had the crab cake sandwich again– it was so delicious and exactly how it was the first time I tried it! Again the sauces took the chips to a new level, but I felt the sandwich didn’t even need any additional sauce because it was tasty all on its own!
The atmosphere was fine too– not too crowded, busy, or loud, with plenty of sitting space. Since it was a cloudy day outside it was nice to sit inside with the doors open and fans going. We will definitely continue to come to Ike’s in the future when we feel like having some fresh seafood during our beach visits.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat and did not expect to be blown away by the food. The red crab chowder and crab balls were so good !

On the Boardwalk in Ocean City.
Ordered the Crab Cakes, Crab Quesidilla, Calamari and Fish and Chips.
Good homemade chips and overall good food.
Enjoyed the crab cakes which had good consistency and was very tasty.
The Calamari was crisp with good batter with a good mix of circles and tenticules.
Fish and chips were good and just the right amount of batter. Don’t like it when the batter dominates the item and there is little of the item you are ordering.
The wall murals are fun and reflective of the local boardwalk in Ocean City.

Definitely a place to stop for all crabcake fans. I eat there almost every time I am in Ocean City and that’s quite often since I live relatively close. Depending on when you go, it may be busy, but it’s 100% worth it. I either get the crabcake sandwich (its on a hamburger bun) or I get the crabcake on a bed of lettuce but either way, I would eat their crabcakes on cardboard if I had to. They have great homemade sauces too.

Ok, the red cup of iced tea is pretty good, especially if you’re planning on getting the $ 1 refill throughout the week/​season. But other than that, this place is a definite tourist trap. I got the fish and chips and the monster fried «clams.» I put them in quotation marks because I’m pretty sure they were fried pieces of tire. They were the absolute worst clams I’ve ever had, and I seriously believe they were not clams. My little daughter asked to try one and I had to tell her she couldn’t because she would definitely have choked. I couldn’t even chew them up, and I have a full set of genuine adult teeth. What kind of place makes a parent say no to his adorable baby daughter?! Is that what makes them *monster* fried clams?
Hyperbole aside, they were really, really bad. The fish sticks were marginally better in that they were not a personal affront to other fish. The chips were decent. But dear god, those clams!

Was down the shore and needed — yes, needed — some fresh seafood. I stopped in to Ike’s (actually, the smaller location around 8^th & Boardwalk) and got fish & chips. The fish was fantastic! It was 5 fish fingers (they looked like chicken fingers, actually) instead of 1 large filet. The fish was crispy, not greasy, and not overwhelmed by the breading. The chips are homemade potato chips, and they were also delicious. My only complaint is that their homemade iced tea is sweetened (they don’t have unsweetened).
One last thing — try the sundried tomato tartar sauce. It will change your life, I promise.

Best place on the boardwalk in ocean city. Food is tasty, high quality and reasonably priced. The kids chicken fingers are some of the best our daughter has had and they come in a great souvenir bucket too! Crab cakes are very good but the grouper sandwich is awesome! Love the clam strips too. Thanks for great dinners three times this week!

Vacationing in OC for the week. I was not really interested in eating fried dough, hot dogs & crab fries for 7 days. Thank goodness I found Ike’s.
This place was clean, the food was fresh and the crab cakes were incredible.

My family went here for an early dinner. Which was good, because it got crowded later.
My wife had scallops and salad. She indicated it was cooked perfectly and better than what she had the night before at another restaurant.
My son had a Crabby Patty, which was a kids meal. It came with thin home made potato chips. He was happy it came in a bucket he could bring back with him. He ate up the whole thing rather quickly. Not sure if it was because we did not have lunch or he just liked it.
I had chicken fingers, they came out hot. The chicken was not over cooked and was still juicy. It also came with a side of home made chips. They were good. The portion was ample.
We liked that there was a selection of six sauces for the meal. I liked the sun dried tomato the best. It worked well with the chips and chicken.
Service was prompt and friendly. The interior was clean.
My family wants to return the next time we are in Ocean City.

Great food and wonderful staff! Crab cakes were delicious and tasted homemade. The chips were to die for — along with Ll the dips/​dressings on the table. They were even nice enough to cook my son another hot dog when he lost his to the floor :)

Food was great. Service was great. Had to wait but not very long and even on a Friday night. Crab cake sandwich was excellent!

If you want crab cakes, this is the place! Nothing fancy, but the crab cakes are delicious, and they make their own house chips. Crab quesadillas were good too. Kids’ meals come in a bucket to take along for digging tomorrow.

My family and I got take out here from the boardwalk one night on our vacation. We Thought both soups were delicious. I got the grilled fish tacos which I thought were very good but my only critique would be that they were a lil heavy with the salsa on top. Thought it would have been better with a little less because the fish itself was fresh and delicious so would have wanted to taste that more. My husband liked his meal which was some sort of fish sampler. My daughter had the kids meal crab cake sandwich which she seemed to enjoy as well! The butterfly chips were pretty good too! They also gave us four sauces with the meal which all tasted yummy. The white sauce was my favorite. A good place to go if you are looking for seafood on the boardwalk.

Delicious food, friendly service, this place can’t be beat. I love the crab cakes, my parents always the the soft shell crabs, which they say is delicious, and they are soft shell crab snobs! The grilled shrimp are perfectly cooked, not dry or chewy, perfect. The non seafood is good too, my hubby got the fried chicken sandwich and he told us it was juicy and crispy and oh so good. The chips are good too. Try the homemade fruit sweet tea! It’s refreshing and gives you a kick of caffeine.

My wife had the grouper and she thought it was exceptional, so this gets 4 stars. Quite surprising for a place on the boardwalk. Plus the salad with shrimp was also very good. Worth a visit.

Thanks to the reviews of Unilocal.I desided to give this place a try for Dinner. I was seated as soon as I arrived. By a server that was really nice. And was giving a menu and ask for a soda
I went with the crabcake sandwich that comes with chips and Cole slaw,
When my food arrived it was in a basket with no more room to add anything esle filled.
I was ask what kind of sauce I would like. They gave me 4 to choose from. I ask if I could try them all and was told yes. So I Tryed them all and do t really know what one I would choose because all the sauces were good. It’s even good dipping the chips in the sauce,
But when it comes to the crab cake sandwich. I have not had a crab cake, any fresher then this place makes, and the crab cake is a pretty good size that they put on to the sandwich!
I was impressed and would recommend it to anyone, and I would definitely come back for dinner again. but the only one issue is small on the inside, so you want to try to arrive early. So you can get a seat.

The food was very good and they honored my Unilocal check-​in coupon even though the cell service was horrible and I kept losing my connection. The crabcakes are good, but there is a lot of filler. The butterfly fries were also very good. Nostalgic kind of place with old pictures around the place; it was fun and comfortable; will definitely go back!

crabcake balls are perfect~~crunch outside and juicy inside. butterfly fries come with meals. I got Yellowfin Tuna Steaks and crabcake sandwiches. they are 100% satisfied me. also server was nice and friendly. I’ll go all the time when I visit ocnj.

This is definitely a go-​to spot on the boardwalk if you have a desire for a crab cake sandwich. The crab cake is very good. There is some filler, but its not 90% breading like you might find at some places that claim to have good crab cakes. Each order comes with a side of actual potato chips. They slice the potatoes and fry them on the spot. The dining area is a little tight, so hopefully you don’t mind sitting a little close to people you don’t know. If you’re hanging out on the beach, you can always get your order to go.
The next time I’m in Ocean City, NJ, I will be eating here.
