My honest review is… this restaurant is very basic and bland. Baby back ribs barely had any flavor and side of runny sauce looked like Enchilada sauce. Not typical of a good rib sauce! Broccoli Salad below standard. No raisins or bacon in my tiny side, & a sliver of grape tomato??? Not in Broccoli Salad, and have been making this dish for years. So, I can’t give a high star rating as I think truly it’s under par in quality of food. Beans r none other than cheap Campbell’s straight from can. Yuk

A perfect way to start off our vacation. Open late, and the menu is huge; something for everyone. The ribs are outrageous! Tender and delicious, meat falls right off the bone. The crab cakes were the best anywhere, with plenty of lump crab meat. The portions were generous and the service attentive.

The service was fast and friendly. My wife had the ribs… her opinion was that they were average. I had the NY strip and crab cake… the steak was cooked to the correct temperature(medium rare), but lacked any kind of seasoning. The crab cake was amazing! I thought that it should come with a remoulade or something, but it didn’t need anything. It was full of lump crab, very little filler, and not over cooked… perfection!

The best ribs in OC, I have never missed an opportunity to eat at nicks when at the beach. The food always comes out hot and quickly. They also have great happy hour specials during the off season. Can’t wait to return!

Nicks is the best rib place on the island. Other restaurants should take note on the service and there training. The first thing I was impressed by was the silverware was polished, wrapped in a napkin but no spots and clean!!! Next, The server took my wife’s order first a long lost tradition. Finally when the food came out the severed her first. I judge service by the price of the menu. How many higher price restaurants need to take note from this medium priced restaurant training High lights onion load and ribs of course

Not the best ribs I ever had, but certainly worthly of a grub-down while at the beach, if you have a hankering for ribs. I ordere a full rack of their baby backs(they only serve the baby backs). The rack was large and smothered with a tangy hickory smokey sauce, but definitely not sweet. My sides were applesauce and baked beans. The ribs were flavorful and had a fall-off-the-bone consistency. I doubt these ribs were smoked due to the soft consistency of the meat. They were undoubtedly baked or boiled, then smothered w/sauce and grilled for show. The flavor was good for unsmoked or barbecued ribs. The baked beans were most like Bushes ‘Home Style’ baked beans – nothing special for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I like Bushes beans – no major knocks there; however, they probably could of amped it up and made them special. At home, I usually add brown mustard, brn surger, lots of bacon, and molasses to Bushes’ beans. Nick’s could do something. Apple sauce is apple sauce. Decent beach ribs to satisfy that need for ribs while in the OC and worthly of a chow-down, but certainly won’t win any awards – in my opinion.

First time visit to Nicks but not the last. Had Ribs and BBQ chicken which was prepared exceptionally well. Ribs were very tender and literally fell off the bone. Service from both the Hostess and Server was very efficient and courteous.

The prime rib that was right on par with Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. The ribs were delicious and the crab cake was second to none. The piña colada was in the smaller size but well made…

Great yummy ribs! Meat was tender and juicy and fell off the bone. Sides of slaw, beans, baked potato were good too. And they have a great garden salad. Going back again!

Everyone was building this place up so we thought the ribs were going to be out of this world but unfortunately they fell short for us. We live in southern Maryland where we have some really good barbecue and ribs so the ribs here were only fair to us. The service was good and the sides were mediocre :(. We spent $ 90 for two of us and it was definitely overpriced and under-impressed :(. I will be generous and give two stars.

This place was really pretty good, I would not say this place is a must try but you also won’t be unsatisfied with the meal. Go with the ribs and you won’t be sorry. Let’s be honest with so many seafood places in the area of your reading my review it is because your looking for something other than seafood. However this place has the best crab cakes I have had at any restaurant in the area. Best thing on the menu the Rib and Crab Cake combo.

Another lively OCMD place, this one near the Delaware border, proved a nice change from the seafood only joints this week. The 45 minute wait we were given was not nearly that long. Even better, Our server Marlene took care of us right away once we were seated. She was very attentive — key when you have 2 kids in tow. Best parts of the meal: onion loaf appetizer, ribs, broccoli slaw and broiled crab cake. Yes, still could resist the crab. Fun to pull apart the sweet, fried onions from the block of goodness. Not too much breading. Ribs had good flavor but no smoke ring. Slaw was a nice surprise. Crab didn’t need the tartar or cocktails sauces, just squeeze of lemon. Dated décor but reminiscent of my husband’s youth. Overall a good option for families.

Good ribs, not the best I’ve had. But very good. I will be coming here again next time I’m in the OC area.

Just visited Nicks Ribs n bbq for the first time and was met with most obvious case of racism I have ever experienced. If ur black and you’re a party of 4, you have a 30 min wait. If you’re white and a party of 5−6…and you show up 10 min after, you’re seated within 3 min. White people enjoy… black folk just pass on this garbage!

The ribs are outstanding. The menu has something for everyone. The crab cakes are top notch. You taste the jumbo lump crab meat with just a hint of red pepper. The cooked to order steaks are superb. Nice«steakhouse» style atmosphere. Service was great. I’d have given it a 5 star rating but the side dishes were not particularly the greatest for the cost of the meal. I’d describe the as adequate.

Delightful rib house in OCMD. The ribs were absolutely awesome. Perfectly seasoned and juicy. Just the right amount of lean and fat, cooked to perfection where the meat literally fall from the bone. The coke slaw was ok, but we chose it for the fiber. The onion loaf was good and truly enough for 3 – 5 people as advertised, great for a small group to share.

This is one of the few full service restaurants open in the off season and we were looking for a nice steak dinner. It’s nice. The ambiance is very pleasant and the service is very attentive without being overbearing. The food is OK. Not great. OK. I had the New York Strip and the Missus had the Filet Mignon. Both were a tad undercooked to our preference but not enough to send them back. The side dishes weren’t much to write home about. Still, it’s a decent restaurant with decent food. It is a bit n the pricey side, though.

This is a must if you want a nicer place to eat down the ocean, you have a choice of the bar area or the dining room. Get their early if you go during the busy season! I am a major fan of the cheese crab toast! I absolutely can not eat there without getting it! Once you have it you’re hooked. Their ribs are just yummy and a good price. Their crab cakes are just fantastic little balls of flavor! You can not leave this place hungry, I think I’ve been able to get to the desert one time after 10 years of coming here lol.

We use the carry out service all the time, cause we don’t like to wait, and most of their dinners are large enough to be shared by two! Last night, full rack of ribs dinner with baked potato and coleslaw(and they remembered the extra sauce too!) What a great meal, shared by two of us for under $ 25! The ribs are the reason to go there and you should not be disappointed. Coleslaw was not to my taste, but appeared well made. Had planned on ice cream for dessert but was too stuffed!
