5 stars for the girl who waited on me. Lovely lovely ass and very friendly. Liked the pizza too. Good taste.

Went here twice this week. On Tuesday night the service was really bad — no one acknowledged us for 20 minutes and we had to aggressively flag down a waitress to place an order. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and there were plenty of employees, so there wasn’t a good reason for the poor service.
Tonight we thought we’d try it again and was shocked to see that service was actually worse! Waited at least 20 minutes while the staff wandered around talking with friends and appearing to be doing absolutely nothing, except for the one girl who was sitting down eating a scoop of ice cream (can’t imagine that she was actually on break!?). After the girl finished her ice cream and began wandering around, my son went over to her and asked «Can we place an order?», and her response was «I don’t know, can you?». Shocking!!! A few minutes later she came over, took our order, brought me the wrong ice cream, and when I told her she said «oh, we’re out of that flavor»… Really???
Rudeness and poor service goes all the way up to the manager who couldn’t even open her mouth to say hi or ask how things were when I went up to pay the bill… she just put out her hand for the check, and then put it out again for the money. When she handed my my change, she was able to muster up a «thank you».
I don’t write a lot of reviews but when I experience really poor service (twice!!), I feel it’s important to let others know. Oh, and the reason for the 1 star is because the food is actually quite good, or I would have given it zero stars.

We appreciated the updated exterior façade and interior decoration. However, the food was mediocre at best (pizza and a very tiny meatball parm sandwich), and we were absolutely swarmed by flies for the entire meal. The flies were all over our food and were continually landing on our heads, shoulders, and arms. It was not a pleasant experience. Other restaurants we have eaten at along the same stretch of boardwalk did not have this problem whenever we have eaten at same. Would not recommend eating there unless you bring flypaper with you and enjoy eating tiny portions of food for full price.

My favorite pizza joint in the world. I have tried all variety but end up getting plain. The place has changed a lot in the 30 years ive been going but im happy to return to it every summer.

Hit this place 3 or 4 times during our vacation last week. Amazing pizza, strombolis and pepperoni bread. Salads are ok, but served in plastic trays, which was a bit low-​rent. Wait staff is incredibly friendly. Ice cream is also incredible. No real complaints, other than maybe they need to keep on top of the bathroom cleanliness during the day. The place gets busy fast, but it’s very popular. We’ll be sure to return next time we vacation down there.

The 1 star is for the pizza. By far the worst I have had on the boardwalk. The atmosphere is nice with the TVs, but I will never be back. The pizza is the worst. My son and I decided to try pizza at different places this year, and this was by far the worst. To add insult to injury, I waited 5 min before a server greeted us, and we were @ the counter stools… I also found out the «cook» didn’t hear the server that she needed four cheese slices, so the wait took to long… I won’t be back for the pizza… so so so bad… just unfavorable crust with little cheese. I wish I could give a negative star. yuck

Great experience last night. The pizza and dessert were great. Don’t miss the waffles and ice cream they are amazing. Our server Emilee was outstanding as well!

The heart burn I got from this place 7 days ago is still here. I must admit that at the time I enjoyed the pizza but from an hour or so after the fact I have been cursing the name Preps. The service was fast and many tv’s with the Homerun Derby made for nice atmosphere but damn Preps, what did I do to you to deserve such acid reflux.

Some pizza on the boardwalk is lousy but not preps. So delish! Try the half and half. Half white pie/​half neopolitan pie.

My Italian mother, who does not eat pizza our Italian food as a rule, absolutely loves the Sicilian pie at Preps. My husband and I had the Neapolitan pie, just pain cheese. The crust was crispy and his a nice chewiness to it, the tomato sauce was sweet, and compromised their cheese mixture perfectly. We also tasted the Sicilian, and it was really good too! It was fluffy, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of toppings. Bravo Preps! We will be back next year.

Worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. Super dry, tasteless, and burnt on the bottom. Stay away. And it’s $ 3.50/slice!

Great pizza on the OCNJ Boardwalk! Enjoyed the half plain/​half white pizza. Delicious! And they take credit cards which is rare in OC.

The best, period. Clean, friendly. Buffalo chicken pies! Delicious salads, meatball provolone subs. I still haven’t tried a waffle & ice cream, but they look delicious.

Deliciously hot pizza, but had to remind the server a few times for simple things. Understandably it was incredibly crowded due to the holiday weekend and she was running around like a chicken with her head cut off, but a more experienced server would know how to manage the crowds.

Best pizza on the boardwalk, hands down. I have very happy memories of this place growing up and have taken my kids back several times. Wish I lived closer.

They use Richmond’s ice cream company and Breyer’s ice cream and made waffle sandwich deliciousnesses! Lol We actually came back twice in less than a 24hr period because the bf couldn’t get enough of that waffle and the vanilla peanut butter twirl ice cream :)
This place also has pizza and similar eats and a nice bright spacious eating area. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to again!

The pizza is really really good and its 18 inches which is a little bit bigger than a normal large pizza, the service is good with friendly waitresses and they recently remodeled which makes the atmosphere nice and new, its really overpriced for people
Living in the real world but it fits right in for the ocean city boardwalk, if you like spending money with the family, this is the place to go, the ice cream looked good but its also breyers so you make the call, best pizza place on the boardwalk

Brought 11 of my closest pizza critic family members for dinner on a beautiful Friday night in July and no one left disappointed. The recent overhaul of the restaurant left us all impressed — very clean, well lit and open atmosphere didn’t make the already full room feel stuffy. We ordered 3 pies — cheese, pepperoni, and sausage… and we were worried that we ordered too much. To our surprise… there were no left-​overs for breakfast — darn! Every slice was flavorful an full of toppings, even the sausage had a good kick to it. The ONLY recommendation I would make would be to cook the crust a little longer to get a char on the dough. Preps is also great for families with young kids because Castaway Cove is right next door… just wait 30 minutes after you eat at Preps to go on the spinny rides. We love to come to OC for pizza… and are happy to add another great restaurant to the list!

I did not have the pizza. I had the ice cream. But I can observe the following:
The place is clean, spacious, and has a bathroom. Three things that Manco & Manco did not have.
Cinnamon bun ice cream on a waffle sandwich is heaven on a plate!
Someday I’ll come back and try the pizza. Or I just might make this the go to boardwalk ice cream joint. Either way, I like this place.
Comfortable boardwalk places are hard to find.

Preps is a boardwalk staple for both pizza and ice cream for as long as I can remember. They serve up my very favorite pizza on this boardwalk. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy… just how I like it! The inside is very big so there’s hardly ever a wait.
They also have a delicious ice cream situation here too. Any place that allows you to choose between green and white mint chocolate chip is ok in my book! (But seriously, who would choose white???) The waffles and ice cream is a great way to end a night walking the boards.
