«Awesomely Fresh Seafood and Friendly Staff.» My friend and I decided on this place for our last night in town and we are so glad we did. I love the look and décor of the place; not formal but casual and still classic beachy. The lattice light fixture covers are a nice touch. Very friendly staff seated us and were very attentive throughout the meal. My friend ordered Cioppini and she was wow’d! Such fresh seafood in a light tomato-based sauce. Fish, scallops, clams, all were very tender and delicious! My steak & prawns were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. Steak was tender and flavorful, I didn’t ask for steak sauce like I usually do. The house-made hot sauce complimented very well. The zuccini & red potatoes were equally tasty. The clam chowder had such tender clams and was really good! Our server suggested the Blue Lagoon alcoholic beverage, and it really hit the spot. This is my new favorite seafood place when I come into town! We’ll be back.

We came here for lunch because I was craving some good seafood. I ordered the crab and shrimp linguini and was disappointed. For $ 17, I expected to be wowed. Small portion, mostly pasta with a side of tiny shrimp and crab. Although the seafood was definitely fresh, I expected more of it or at least proportional to the amount of pasta. And there was about half a cup of shredded Parmesan on top — a little too much. I have definitely had better seafood linguini elsewhere. To top it off, my drink sat empty for a while and was never refilled, but the servers were very nice and polite when they did come by. My hubby got the cheeseburger. The flavor itself was good but the patty was small. The fries were delicious. Overall, my expectations were not met. Will not be coming back.

Slow slow service. The staff seemed frazzled and unsure of who’s job it was to seat the people waiting. There were plenty of open seats but know one was being seated. By the time we left we had spent 2 hours at this place, most of which was waiting to be waited on. The server tried to hussle but was also dealing with a huge party in our section. The food was good. We both had Halibut. But it was not worth the all night wait including the wait for the bill. The motel we stayed at recommened this place. I think it is over rated because the staff cannot handle the amount of people that are sent here from their motels. And… this was only a Tuesday. Can’t imagine how slow the service would be on a Friday or Saturday.

Been over a decade since I had freshly fried Razor Clams since moving from the peninsula. I was not disappointed in my meal. Only sad that I didn’t have more room in my tummy to order a second serving. The ambiance was unusual as it felt like a dated café but the food was priced and tasted a little more«classy». I just care about clean establishment, delicious food and friendly staff. Service was fast and with many caring workers checking in on you

Had lunch here today. Clams were pretty good. The crab had an off flavor and didn’t seem fresh. I would not recommend this place.

Looking for a place to try some local seafood and found this place. Everything was so delicious! Best halibut I’ve had in a long time!

I love this place. It’s got a great classic rock compilation on at all times, B sides you never get to hear. The waitstaff is friendly and ever so attentive. The food is good — I really enjoyed the fresh Oysters.

Yikes! Run! Do not eat here! The place is dirty, staff slow, food poorer than poor. My daughter ordered the clam chowder and when the wall paper paste arrived it was tasteless and very floury. It was by far the worst chowder I have ever tasted. I ordered the pan fried oysters with ‘pilaf’ and ‘sautéed vegetables’. The oysters were super soft battered, not crispy at all, and the oysters tasted dirty. The rice pilaf was white sticky rice with some odd blend of seasoning sprinkled over it. The best part was the sautéed veggies which were nothing more than zucchini. My husband and other daughter both ordered fried food baskets – one chicken strips and chips and the other the captains platter. Both were obviously pre made processed food items, except for the fish in the captains platter, which was probably hand breaded, but very greasy. We waited forever for our order to be taken, and even longer to get our bill. The place was well staffed with 4 – 5 waiters/waitresses and just as many bussers, but no one could make time to do anything for us except to whisk our plates away the moment we pushed them back. Skip this place, in fact, avoid it at all cost. I’m fearful I might have made a horrible choice eating shellfish from this establishment.

Of all the restaurants that my family and I ate at during our vacation to Ocean Shores, this was by far and away the most disappointing. We stopped in after my wife was craving oysters and, seeing the seafood market out front, figured this was a good place. The kids ordered a chicken strip plate and a bowl of chowder(one is a chowder aficionado) and my wife ordered her pan fried oysters. I selected the Captain’s plate, a combination of fish, shrimp and clams, with chips. Where to start… The chowder was non-descript and overly floured, lacking flavor. It’s hard to compliment a dish when the best part of the meal is the saltines. The chicken strip was also nothing to write home about. The Captain’s plate featured two portions of hand battered cod, along with four ounces of shrimp and clams strips. The fish was greasy and lacked much flavor and the shrimp and clams could have been prepackaged for all I could tell. The fries were store bought Jo-jos and were well seasoned. My wife’s oysters were the most disappointing. The eight oysters were barely fried and tasted dirty. The«rice pilaf» was a pile of white rice with some seasoning blend and scallions on top. The veggies were sautéed zucchini were«the best part of the meal», said my wife. Overall, we were very disappointed by the meal, the cost, and the slow service. We will not be returning to Mikes on our future trips to Ocean Shores.

The food was good, but the service was merely adequate. After taking our order, our waitress spun around and left without a word. I also noticed others around me and my family(3 kids, so maybe that was it) getting much more attention. I usually chalk this up to the fact that we don’t typically order booze, but this time I did order a couple of beers, which usually signals a willingness to spend a little extra. The restaurant itself seemed teetering on the verge of becoming rundown(shabby repairs to the booths, peeling labels on the wine list, dust everywhere). Additionally, the bathroom was pretty dirty and there was no hand soap, which always leaves one questioning whether the employees are washing their hands. If the prices were lower, I’d overlook the trappings, but at $$ in a seaside destination, I guess I just expect more.

Great seafood– I had the crab stuffed prawns and my husband had the steak and prawns — both excellent! On a Saturday night in late June it was extremely busy but we had great service– very friendly and efficient. The only suggestion I have is for a larger waiting area– maybe add some chairs outside for the summer? We’ll be back!

I oreder the 4 piece fish n chips. Firm and meaty cod with a great tarter sauce. Looking around the restaurant I see a lot of great dishes. I would recomend doing a seafood pasta instead of fish n chips. Those dishes look way better

Exceedingly fresh seafood and a menu that really shows off the creativity and ambition of the chef. Not always perfect: croutons were stale in the salad, dining room could use an update/upgrade — but you get the feeling that the staff is really working hard and cares about quality of product on table. Service was attentive and professional: Cioppino was full of fresh fish, although presentation was different than I’ve ever had before. Other dishes were well done, although I didn’t have an excuse to try the chef’s own homemade hot sauce.

I read some of the reviews and decided to chance it. Was dissapointed for sure. The fish was overcooked, hard on the edges, not flavorful at all and EXTREMELY greasy. My husband got the captains platter, and the shrimp was delicious but the fish and chips was not good. Clam chowder was ok, but low on clam flavor. Will not return

Back again! Pan fried oysters… the best I’ve ever had. Plus, if you’re lucky you’ll hear the owner’s own music on the stereo.

Me and the wife had lunch there today, I had the oyster Po boy sandwich and my wife had the cod sandwich. The Po Boy wasn’t a traditional Po Boy sandwich. I was on a focaccia bread. The Oysters were cook perfectly, but the the horseradish aoli wasn’t that tastes. My wife’s Cod sandwich was also on a focaccia bread, she said the fish have very little batter and the cod was dry. We share a bowl of clam chowder. The chowder was good creamy the way we like it. I would have to say the our server was great. Very polite, also checking to see how we were doing. Really nice guy.

The food was pretty basic as is everything else – the menu, atmosphere and service were just ok. Not a meal I’d write home about. The chowder has bacon in it, which totally ruins it(at least for me). All in all it feels like you’re eating something a friend/neighbor cooked for you on their covered patio. It’s nothing to look at and none of our meals blew us away. The prices were high.
