Dropped by today after a friend had recommended their Vietnamese coffee. I was thinking of Lees Sandwiches ice coffee which is amazing and hoping this would live up to it but sadly it did not. It wasn’t sweet enough but still good! Service and atmosphere was awesome and definitely would come back! Want to try the sweet latte next

Some of the best smoothies I’ve ever had. I got the Dang Berry (strawberry, banana, vanilla, Apple juice) and my boyfriend got the Nutty Dang (PB, chocolate, banana, vanilla). I was worried the banana flavor was going to be overpowering and it wasn’t. Fun wooden games on the tables like checkers, chess, and connect four. I would very much recommend!

Stopped into this shop as it is close to my office. I adore coffee shops, but do not drink coffee… yeah, I know… so it’s awesome that they serve healthy smoothies. The décor is fun and unique, very clean and bright, nice board games and things for families and friends. The service was friendly. There is wifi. I am definitely going back to hang out and I’ll be bringing my friends. A nice little Oceanside gem!

Quaint little place. No free potty unless you are a customer! My latte was great… my only wish was that I had the option to have a large drink as their coffee comes in one size… small.

Excellent tasting coffee, you can really tell the quality, loved both my mocha as well as my husbands sweet latte with condensed milk.
Love the décor and vibe of the place, cute and fun, they sell shirts and have their logo everywhere around the store.
Love that they have games out, as the coffee took awhile to come out.
Did not love the service, nor the price or portion sizes.
They only have tiny size cups, I literally finished my $ 5 drink a block up the road as it was not as hot as I would have liked either.
Taste perfect, would really appreciate if they offered larger sizes and the service was less pretentious, but for sure worth a stop while in the area.

Oceanside’s DOPEST coffee&smoothie spot thus far. Been coming to this establishment since the beginning of summer, and I can honestly say nothing has changed except the art on the walls. Always smelling nice stays clean and they play good lounge music. Ashamed to say that I’ve only stuck with my usual «Nutty dang» with a shot of hemp protein because I literally can’t get over how good it is. I will eventually venture out to some of the snacks they provide, but for now I’ll stick to my 3 – 4 smoothies a week.
Staff is always nice and friendly, and they remember just about everyone’s name which is rare now days. Good environment, great ingredients, always a pleasure to visit.

Variety of teas, teas blended with fruit for smoothies, and coffees! I ordered a mocha which is very smooth and not too sweet as some places tend to make them. The tables for seating all have games, chess, checkers and tic-​tac-​toe. They even have toast with toppings like peanut butter and banana, chocolate sauce and so on. Tried their large cookie and they even heated it up to make it melty. Very nice establishment with good quality ingredients. Would definitely come back.

That was basically the chain of events after I tasted one of their smoothies. I’m a smoothie SNOB, to say the least. I consume 1 – 2 smoothies each day. EVERY day! I almost always make them at home as I’m constantly disappointed by the ones I get at smoothie/​juice shops. But not this time, no no, not this time… I feel pretty confident saying this may be the best smoothie I’ve ever had. *gasp!*
I stopped in on a whim because I was in the area and needed some quick food. My tastebuds have been thanking the ish out of me for it all day! I don’t live in o-​side, but you best believe I will be coming here as a ritual every dang time I’m in the area!

They have a variety of pastries and coffees, to include a full menu of smoothies, coffee bar, and teas. Enjoy while playing chess or other board games!

I went bananas!
Pros:
Their smoothies are phenomenal! I got the Dang Berry. What I liked about it was that it was light and smooth. Some smoothies are too thick. Consistency here was perfect!
Great alternative to the typical food choices offered at a coffee place. This places offer several different toasts. Choose your bread and the concoction that speaks to you. I tried the Hummer Toast and the Cinna Toast. Both were excellent. Hummus, Craisins, and Pecans; Cinnamon Sugar and butter. Can’t go wrong with any of them.
You do not HAVE to love bananas. That is important because I LOVE them but my friend who was with me does not. We were both happy.
Espresso very strong.
Cons:
Espresso very strong. (See above.) I found the espresso so strong, it went on bitter side. Some love that, so it would be a con for me, but a pro for many.
Parking is not great. Park on the side street and walk over.
Bottom Line: I would love to try ALL the Smoothies and ALL the toasts!

This pour over coffee joint is the only place in town that appreciates a good cup of joe! Feel sorry that ppl lack the knowledge of what good coffee is but man oh man, whats best is the snacks and toast they have to munch along with your drink!
If this spot ever closes down I would be very sad! I came from SF hoping to find a good spot in the area and I did! When you’re so used to drip/​pour over coffee you cant go back to starbucks… I am sorry.
This spot is legit for coffee snobs and geeks!
The music and ambience is super relaxing. They have board games. Organic honey and agave sweetner! Come on! I would totally work here if I were in College!

Yes, Banana Dang! It’s a funny name. But you know what, it’s memorable!
Vegan options galore. Not only do they offer soymilk as an alternative to their organic milk, but they also have almond milk. I love having non-​dairy and non-​soy options and they have them here!
I’d suggest coming here for the drinks, but they do have snacks and treats too.
Dang options include:
Vanilla Dang – vanilla, banana, flax, cinnamon
Dang Berry – strawberry, banana, apple juice
Orang-​a-​Dang – orange juice, banana, vanilla
Green Tea Dang – matcha, banana, cinnamon
Nutty Dang – peanut butter, banana, choco
Purple Dang – acai, banana, strawberry, juice
My favorite is the Nutty Dang because it has peanut butter and chocolate, two flavors that go great with bananas!

I am obsessed with Vietnamese coffee and have been trying to stop in since they opened. I ordered an iced vietnamese and the bf ordered the banana nutty toast. And in our normal fashion– we shared. The coffee was out of the world. I will be going back on the regular to get my coffee fix. Perfect flavor and not overly sweet. Also, the toast was a very nice, unexpected treat. We ordered it on farmer’s sweet bread and it was perfect! The toast was topped with nutty peanut butter, bananas, and honey. Perfect combo and reminded me of my grandma (which is always a nice reminder to have). :)
The shop is very laid back and has a very welcoming vibe. The bf and I played checkers while we waited and while we were finishing up the toast. It was a great way to start off our Sunday. Thanks Banana Dang!

Banana Dang! is keeping it real. Real Dang! coffee served by real Dang! people.
Husband and wife owners Mario and Thanh Dang opened this shop after relocating to Oceanside from Puerto Rico.
Why Puerto Rico? This is where they went on their honeymoon, and they stayed. In Puerto Rico they grow great coffee and bananas (hence the shop name).
Why Oceanside? 40 years ago, Thanh’s family arrived at Camp Pendleton with hundreds of other South Vietnamese refugees, and to her Oceanside represents freedom and opportunity.
They originally worked and met in the music business, which everybody knows had an industry-​wide melt down due to digitization.
Come to the shop and you will feel the «Rolling Stone» /​record industry vibe. They use real coffee, not grown in Oceanside, but acquired from San Diego’s best coffee distributor and roaster: Café Virtuoso.

Their Sweet Latte is good! Not to sweet and u can taste the coffee. Zucchini bread is ok… The purple Dang is refreshing. Has a real downtown feel to it. Nice place just to sit and relax a bit. Definitely coming back… And been coming back at least twice a week.
Wish parking was easier though.
Was expecting more of a pizazz from the toasts though.
The couple that work here are the owners and they are so sweet and polite ppl. You can really tell they are hard working and down to earth.

When looking for a place to be productive in downtown Oceanside, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Banana Dang and was instantly satisfied with everything they had to offer: passionate and enthusiastic baristas, quality coffee, and a great atmosphere with fun décor. We ordered the sweet latte (with condensed milk) and iced Vietnamese coffee. Both drinks were delicious and I highly recommend the latter if you’re looking for a caffeine boost to get the creative juices going!
If coffee isn’t your thing, have no fear! They have quite a few smoothies available and they looked very refreshing!
