Brooklyn Boys is one of two places in SD that serve pizza every bit as good as back in NYC. The owners Kevin and Dennis are great guys from the east coast, always support local charities and consistently make dynamite pizza. I recommend the baked ziti slice, white slice, and a local beer. Can’t go wrong! I come here as often as I can and it never gets old.

Always a good pie… juicy and hot. If u ask for fresh garlic on top they load it up. Runs neck n neck with my favorite place in SF Totos pizza #2 with extra garlic. Only improvement they can make is when u order mushrooms, put more then 3 on it.

Just went to this place for the first time ever, I don’t know how ive never heard of this place. This was one of the best pizza places I’ve been to. The pizza was on point the dough was so good. Also tried their meeatball sandwich was delicious. This is a must try place if you’re in the area-! 5 statzzzz

Best pizza within many miles. A little greasy sometimes but the crust is what really works here, it’s perfect. Really lives up to it’s name; would be believable as typical NYC pizza.

Great pizza so authentic. Reminds me of home with the stringy cheese and perfect amount of grease and the crunchy thin crust. Yes yes yes!!!

Great pizza. Very thin and crispy. I see the same workers almost every time I’m in, and it shows how tight these people are. I feel very welcomed every time and it’s just a chill spot. One of the best pizza joints in north country and I absolutely love coming here.

If you like the aroma of pot drifting from the kitchen and burnt pizza, this is the place for you. I came via the United Mileage Plus Dining program but will not return. Disappointed to say the least.

Pizza wasn’t great, the food itself would merit 2 – 3 stars, but they have an unintuitive credit card system, aggressively try to finagle a tip out of you up front –before actually providing any service– and have a separate phone number for deliveries, which they don’t list. When you call the only number they do list, they flatly tell you it’s a different number for deliveries, which you need to ask for; and it’s coupled with and a large delivery minimum for a short delivery range. Food is ok, but their service and practices make it the least desirable of the NY pizza places in Oceanside.

My first visit was great. This was my second visit and it wasn’t so great. We go to the back of the restaurant to get a table and even though all the tables were empty, they were all dirty. They leave the«utility» closet open throughout our entire visit to improve the ambience with a view of the mop and bucket. The pizza was average. The sauce was bland and there could have been more cheese. The dipping sauce for the garlic knots tasted like it was canned. The salad was okay. The employee that was there, unlike my first, was not thrilled to be there. She was unhelpful, unfriendly, and very unpleasant. Incidentally, I really really wanted to go back here after my first visit. It was a completely opposite experience.

In typical Southern California style, Brooklyn Boyz pizza is located in a strip mall, with the entrancing facing the parking lot. You can see a faint unlit sign on the rear of the structure while driving into the Walmart parking lot. It’s easy to miss and if you arrive at Walmart, you’ve gone too far. The slice is right, excellent crust with a nod to the fancier neoploitan joints with brick ovens. this place is decisively unpretentious tho. the difference is the ability to get slices for a decent price. you can fold them and eat them with your hands. I asked for a pepperoni and grandmas slice. The pepperoni is greasy and lacks the abundance of cheese like I know. but it is delicious. The flashy finish is the grandmas slice. The marinara sauce is excellent. This isn’t a «Sicilian slice» with inflated bread and no flavor. it’s excellent. While corny, I applaud them for cashing in on the brand name«Brooklyn» which is so trendy today. But it’s not a pose, the pizza is legit and unlike some«authentic slice» joints north in SF, you pay less than $ 5 for a good piece of pizza.

Tonight was my first experience at this supposedly«Brooklyn» pizza parlor, and nothing can be said except utter disappointment. We ordered a couple pies to go and sure they have the appearance of delectable pizza but make not mistake. The crust might be the achilles heel of the entire entrée, flavorless cardboard that makes you wish you chose a salad. Other than that the pizza was overall sub par, but if you are not used to quality pizza then you might enjoy this place. Anyways, will not be coming back here again.

The pizza’s good, but the tipping system is more like extortion. Note the management — Standing there, with your hand out, asking for tips should embarrass you. Guilting anyone into anything will never win their favor. In fact, it’s a repellant. Change your payment process. Note to people considering eating here — there is a very uncomfortable moment where the manager asks for a tip BEFORE the pizza even goes in the oven. This comes down to a business preying on good people to leave tips they feel they have no choice to leave. It’s a form of forced-panhandling and it’s deplorable. I won’t be back.

This is pizza at its finest… New York style. Thin, crispy crust that holds up to the sauce and toppings, and finally — read what I’m about to write — finally, a sauce that has some SPICE!!! How awesome to bite into a slice and actually have something to taste for a change! And their pies are huge — 18″ … cut into 8 slices… big slices. And they don’t mind using plenty of toppings either. I didn’t get the garlic knots, but I hear they are a must have. I will get them next time. They have a number of their pies(and garlic knots) in a showcase up front for sale by the slice. It’s a good opportunity to see what awesome looking pies they turn out. I had a good experience from phone call to pick up to the last bite of pizza eaten. I would definitely recommend Brooklyn Boyz pizza!

We were in Lego land and we were looking for a place to eat dinner before we head home. I came across this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. It was Saturday night and it was busier than expected. We ordered a green salad, a whole pizza(pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and peppers) and spaghetti and two meatballs. However, they were too slow and it took forever to get our foods. I understand that it was a busy night and they say their order was backed up. I liked the fact that it seemed like they make things fresh once order is placed unless you are buying sliced pizza. We were waiting and waiting but after 15 minutes, we did not get anything. We had a couple of kids with us, and we didn’t want them to be too hungry. So, we asked them to give us whatever is ready first and after 5 – 10 more minutes of waiting, we finally got a salad. It also took another 15 minutes to get spaghetti and meat balls and we waited total of 50 minutes to an hour before we got our pizza. I don’t know if we were just too hungry or not, but the food was not bad and it was decent. We liked everything that we got. However, almost an hour or wait for a whole pizza seems to be a lot of wait even considering they are making it out of scratch. Maybe they need to figure out a way to fast things up on their busy nights but I am not sure if it was worth it to wait for almost an hour to get the pizza order. Atmosphere: 3 stars Food: 3 stars Service: 2 stars Overall Experience: 2 stars

Delicious NY Pizza in the SD area? Yes please! One of the better crusts I’ve tasted, unique and tasty pizza sauce, and generous toppings, I really liked their sausage & pepperoni. This was my first pizza here, but I will be back. I can definitely see my why a good friend of mine brags about this pizzeria.

I would’ve actually given Brooklyn Boys 4.5 stars if it was an option. Not out of this world amazing, BUT it is authentic Brooklyn style pizza and the price is right. I’m originally from NY and this style pizza is a fave… huge slices, thin, brick oven, and super greasy. If you don’t already fold your slices in half, you should consider it! We now live in AZ, and similar«NY style» pizza places charge significantly more for their pizzas. We carried out 3 pizzas for a large family group here on vacation: an everything pizza, a full pepperoni/half with added pineapple, and a half ham/half spinach. They were all really tasty! The majority of the group weren’t adventurous enough to try the specialty ziti pizza, and we thought we had plenty of food, so we(stupidly) skipped the garlic knots. On the list for the next trip though! These pizzas feed a lot of people for a reasonable price, and are delish.

Love, love, love Brooklyn Boyz Pizza. This is pizza the way God intended pizza to be: crispy, thin crust with a flavorful sauce that has bite. True New York style pizza. No explanation necessary. And it’s owned by New Yorkers. You can’t get more New York than that. 2 slices and a soda will set you back $ 7(used to be $ 6.50). And you can get this anytime, not just during lunch hours. And yeah, they’ve got beer. Service is quick and efficient. A couple of tables in the front but most are in the back along with some seats along the counter. They serve other things but I can’t comment on those because I only come here for the pizza. Parking can be tight and it can be a nightmare to get in here during rush hour. But the pizza is worth it. So if you’re looking for a great New York style pizza, Brooklyn Boyz Pizza is the only place to go in North Country.

Deep Dish= Amazing. NY Style– Amazing. Do NOT order the white pizza with ricotta, it was the only bad experience I ever had here. It tasted like cottage cheese and made the pizza soggy and lumpy. It was the consistency of wet toilet paper. YMMV, but I love white pizza and I love this place, so I thought I’d be safe. Boy was I wrong. My GF had the same issue, I was not just being picky or snooty, I promise. I have eaten here 10,000 times and I love this place, but for the love of humanity, do NOT order the white pizza here, please. Stick with the red sauce and you can’t go wrong. Also– i wish you guys had better ranch! This should be the buttermilk garlic ranch that you expect from a pizza place, not the salad style ranch dressing that’s milky and watery. Love this place! Excellent customer service, super friendly owners that ask you how your food is and how everything is going, they will remember your name if you come in here enough, small but legit selection of draft beers, and the deep dish pizza here is amazing especially for a thin crust place. Trust me, order the deep dish at least once and I bet you come back for it again. I will keep coming here, I love local family owned businesses and these guys are awesome.

Greeted right away once we walked in. My husband got the pepperoni pizza and the sausage pepperoni he loves it. Being a pizza enthusiast he’s very particular about his pizza’s but he really enjoys this place. He used to get this all the time during work when he had an hour for lunch. My husband wanted to try their tower 10 ipa unfortunately they didn’t have it. My husband tried a sample of the two hearted ale which he liked. The guy gave him a pint in a half of the two hearted ale for the inconvenience which was nice. As we were leaving we were asked how the pizza’s were and my husband said he enjoyed them, and was stuffed. Really great experience. All in all the pizza’s look fresh and are constantly hot and right out the oven.

Who doesn’t enjoy a slice of pizza every now and then? I wasn’t craving it BUT I was aware of this place — I just never visited it until today. I walk in and am given a friendly«Hey man, what can I do for ya?». Having never been here before, I was put on the spotlight… I kind of went blank for a moment. I took a few seconds to look at the hanging chalk-written menu, but after seeing the prices I realized that these were probably for whole pizzas — I just needed a slice. I look to my left and there are three rows of pizza on display. There are a few items that catch my eye because I’ve seen them on Unilocal — the ziti pizza, the spinach ricotta, and the garlic knots. I wasn’t feeling too hungry so I ordered a slice of the ziti and some garlic knots, which by the way, come in either an order of THREE or SIX. I opted out of the drink, and he says«That’ll be $ 5…»(it was like $ 5.50 or less)…for some reason I was expecting to pay a bit more SOOBVIOUSLY I said«Well snap, let me get that spinach pizza», but as he went to reach for it I saw something similar but it had pepperoni ANDMUSHROOMS. I LOVEMUSHROOMS, so I got that. Refer to my pics for reference. He put the pizzas in an oven directly behind him, wrapped the three garlic knots in some foil and put them in the same oven. Waited a bit, got my food, and then sat towards the back. I took a bite of each thing to decide what I wanted to save towards the end — save the best for last right? I soon came to realize though that I wasn’t enjoying my meal as much as I thought I would — I guess Brooklyn style pizza just isn’t for me. It was good, don’t get me wrong… just not enough to make me want to come back the next day, or run around and spread the word. Also, I was expecting the garlic knots to be a bit softer. They had a crispy crust and the inside cooked a bit longer than I prefer. Still a good meal. Here’s how I’ll break it down: 1. Ziti pizza 2. Spinach ricotta w/pepperoni & mushrooms 3. Garlic knots Oh, they also have beer on tap. I didn’t get anything because I ate here alone and drove.
