Lol idk how this establishment passes itself off as a French bakery OR how it has 4.5 start. Although this place wasn’t bad, they had a small selection of «pastries» which didn’t look very appetizing.

ugh… not the best tasting baked goods I’ve ever had. the Crème Brulee was soggy and had fruit on the top of it but tasted more like egg than anything, besides being overpriced. The Mango Mousse gave me shivers because it seems they made the mousse from green mangoes so it was tart and a bit bitter. the cream puffs were like cardboard. Nothing is fresh after noon it is whats left from the morning and honestly some looks like its left over from the day before as dry as some of it is.

I love this place so much, Bla & her brother baked my stepdaughter’s wedding cake! We had very few pieces left over at the end of the night. We felt like eating them all right there, but we had to save them for the bride & groom’s tradition of having a piece of their wedding cake on their anniversary. When I go in there I usually have the Madame sandwich which is a croissant breakfast sandwich that is just yummy goodness. When I see them at the Carlsbad Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays, I usually pick up some croissants. Once at the farmer’s market, this woman started to ask if the croissants were gluten free… I had to speak up, I told her these were authentic Parisian croissants, unapologetically indulgent & delicious. I don’t have them all the time, But once in a while, You just have to!

The deserts looked dried and shriveled up they looked so old today. They were teaching a french class that took up the whole place so we left disappointed.

I was dropping something off at the UPS store in this shopping center when I saw this little gem. My curiosity was peaked and I had to go in. First Impressions: The look of this place inside, I won’t lie, is deeply under whelming. While it has a beautiful array of goodies in the display, I didn’t really feel draw in or deeply inclined to stay. But the store was clean and the girl behind the counter was very friendly so I proceeded. The Display: Gorgeous looking goodies. Once you get up there your little brain will cry out«ONEOFEVERYTHING!» They have these adorable, heart-shaped macaroons that tehy said were a popular item for weddings. I took a picture. They are really pretty. My Eats: I decided on a mini Mango Tart and a mini Crème puff. Both were cute and very delicious. The ingredients were high quality and textures were exactly as they should be. Smooth creams and crispy, flaky crusts. They also had a plate of heart shaped macaroons which would be perfect for a wedding! I am certain that I will be back for more tasty treats!

Spotted this place after eating at another restaurant in the same strip mall. Was very excited to find a French bakery in North County! Immediately went in for some macarons, which were mediocre at best– kind of dry and flavorless. The staff was friendly and the shop clean and quaint. Special ordered my favorite French treat, a Khouign-Amann, and picked it up a few days later. It was a large round one, rather than individual pastries, and was fairly good. Not the best Khouign Amann I’ve had, but still tasty. Service 4* Macarons 2* Khouign-Amann 4*

Came here for the cronuts and the fantastic pictures on Unilocal. They didn’t have much left when I came on a Saturday afternoon and the prices were super steep. I went with a few macarons and they were ok, not great. A bit stale and artificial in taste. Service was fine, the place small and a bit dated, but clean. Plenty of parking since it is located in a strip mall. I’ll have to come back for the cronuts when i am in the area again, macarons are not worth it.

Been wanting to try this place out for a few months. Glad I finally got the opportunity. I had a mini-fruit tart and pistachio crème burlee(that’s what it looked like anyway). Fruit tart was just ok. It had crème and fruit. In all fairness, it must be hard to make these special. Loved the pistachio. Rich, different flavors, creamy. I recommend it. Had breakfast quiche. My slice was loaded with mushrooms and spinach. Excellent quiche. The warm toasty bread with butter was yuuummmmyyy. The gentleman who brought it out to my table was very warm and friendly. The woman behind counter not so much. She was efficient and helped me.

Things done the right way, just like in France. I love their baguettes, their croissants and their «patisseries». Their coffee is pretty excellent too. They did the wedding cakes for my cousin’s weddings, and it was fabulous!

I came here for coffee and french macarons to go. I was disappointed to find that the macarons were not fresh, they tasted a few days old and they weren’t light and crispy, but dense and very chewy. I’m so disappointed I took time out of my lunch break to come here.

Went in for a morning espresso and a Croqueta-Monsieur. Very quaint little café, very French looking. Espresso was good, they were just putting baguettes out as well. The sandwich was very tasty with béchamel, which is my favorite and how it is traditionally made. I ended up taking a baguette since they smelled so good and I couldn’t resist taking the little jar of Fois Gras. The little jar was a little on the pricey side but it IS imported so it’s expected. Took them home and neither lasted long with my family. Atmosphere could be a little more lively and welcoming. But the cashier was pretty nice. Just felt a little eh… lacking in ambiance. Would go back… but more often if the café was a little more lively.

I have only tried their French macaroons– so my review is solely that product. They tasted old, stale, and too crunchy. It did not have the moist chewy center, it was all stale. Really disappointed. The store itself lacks French decoration, it desperately needs a facelift… maybe a new paint job, some French antiques, bouquets of flowers, French music, more iconic Eiffel towers, idk– Something! :) its too blah in there. Its a really small café, so it wouldn’t take much work, just a little TLC will go a looooong way.

I would rather eat freezer section baked goods for the rest of my life than have to eat the macarons, crème brûlée, tiramisu, or eclairs from this place. That is what I sampled and my friend sampled other items including the fruit tart and ended with the same conclusion. I enjoy trying new restaurants/bakeries and I know the virtues possessed by many«hole in the wall» places but trust me, this hole in the wall serves baked goods that taste like they came out of a hole in the wall. Don’t waste your time.

Came in for macarons. None out, but he brought me 5 from the back. Are these 3 days old, they taste like crap. Anybody know where I can get good ones In north county?

Average to below average just seems to be lacking something that wants to make you return. I just can’t put my finger on it? Perhaps it is the staff? Perhaps it is the décor? Perhaps it is the quality of the coffee? Not quite sure exactly what it is but I just wasn’t impressed on the three occasions I have visited this location. Lacking appeal.

Ive been eating here since the bakery opened and ive noticed a slight shift in quality. The macarons arent all that great(ive had better ones from Trader Joe’s) but the chocolate mousse is still good. Their cases are looking bare and tired(the food looks a tad stale) i still like the cakes, but thats their only redemption.

I went in last week desperately looking for something I could grab for guests coming over at last minute. I came in on a Wednesday at noon time, only to find a handful of choices. I bought a mini cream puff, in hoping it was tasty and that I would bring some home for the guest. I wasn’t pleased with the taste of the pastry. It tasted stale and felt stale. Customer service, eh. I hope to come back and find a better selection.

One word: Croxnut. Croxnut [ kroh-nuht, –nuht ] noun 1. a pastry made from croissant dough that has been deep-fried and shaped into a thick doughnut-like ring. Even those these bad boys are $ 5 a piece, every single bite was more orgasmic than the last & the person who invented them is an evil genius! Imagine eating a sweet bread cloud because that’s the journey you’ll go on & trust me this magic carpet ride is worth it!
