The address is actually 406 mission ave now. The food is not fresh. Moldy english muffins, cucumbers are slimy and see through. They save the soup and meatballs from the night before and reheat it in the morning… yuck

The owner added sink water to his meatballs and stirred them…, maybe thats normal? Because He did it right in front of me… & then he moved on and touched the turkey breast with his bare hands.(I think he was organizing the meat, putting them in a neat pile.& eating a piece at the same time) Workers here are super friendly.

Stumbled onto this Subway after trying to find a different location by GPS that seemed to have been shut down. The restaurant was clean and tidy. It did not take too long to order and get our sandwiches. Can’t go wrong with such cheap and yummy food. The only downer was that I wanted to add avocado to my BLT and couldn’t bring myself to pay $ 1.50 just for that. Not sure if that is due to the location? In Orange County and Riverside I usually either get that for free or a minimal $ 0.50.

I use to work up the street from this Subway, and when I was trying to save some money, my co-worker and I would get our lunches from here. I have been in here a lot just because it was closer to the store I was working at. I get a pretty simple sub, footlong on flatbread, turkey, toasted and pepper jack cheese after its toasted just with lettuce, mayo, olives and black pepper. Now for some reason the people at this store seem to give me the dirtiest of looks when I ask for more olives. I have to ask about four times just to get more than 12 olives on my damn sandwich. No one here is really that friendly, besides one girl but even though she seems like she hates life. One time the lady making my sandwich told me I would have to PAY more for extra olives, I was like what the fuck. Seriously, get over yourself, they are just some damn olives.

OK, I don’t understand Cathy’s review of this place. Being only the second one, I’m going to give it a better review. Now I don’t really know what criteria to use for this place. I mean, it’s Subway. How different can a Subway be? Well, I can say that some are very subpar — soggy vegetables, dirty workers, messy dining room, etc. This place had none of those. When you walk in, you are pleasantly greeted by friendly staff and a well-lit, clean dining room. The service was as perfect as could be anticipated, and the food is the same. The only problem would be the outside — this Subway is on the main drag(Coast Hwy) and isn’t very inviting. Don’t be deceived; this place is a nice place to hang out for a 5 dollar foot long(I don’t get the cheap ones — I get my Italian BMT on their parmesan herb bread TOASTED with provolone, and with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, banana peppers, and black pepper). Good stuff.

I’ve lived in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area for over 10 years, and I’m surprised this place hasn’t gotten on Unilocal yet — yay for another«first to review»! The first time I ever came here with my family was back in high school, when I used to volunteer at the O’side Public Library across the street… we thought it was the BEST sandwiches we’ve ever had! Then over the years, Subway became less enticing… so I give this place a 3!
