I ate here the other day and OMG Terrible service. The waiter was also the sushi chef, he took my order, delivered it and then that’s it. This other lady sat that register the whole time and offered no service just looks like she’s there to collect money. The food I could have made everything at home but better. I told the waiter/chef what I wanted and It look like they used a packet of instant top ramen. The ramen was just noodles and soup. Nothing else. They don’t give you bean sprouts, cabbage, or onions which is usually included and is common in a bowl of ramen I thought I told the waiter/chef what I wanted but maybe he didn’t understand. When I told them this was not what expected, they said anything else other than that was extra? I ordered extra tofu and all I got was a bunch of tiny little pieces of tofu floating at the bottom of the bowl. There was barely any noodles in my little bowl. They have a sign that says, «we do it different» well it’s very different and not in a good way. I’ll never go back.

I had a phone order. The Sushi was ok. The hostess was very unfriendly. No please no thank you from her. I was also charged 25 cents for a side of Siracha??? Probably won’t be returning. I have to post the message I received from the business after writing the review. it really shows what kind of business they are running. «Your order is didn’t come with any sauce that’s why i have to charge you. Only 25cent if you can’t pay sorry then…»

I should have know right away, Friday night and there were only a handful of people there, and none of them were eating. We sat at the bar, and it took about twenty minutes for the lone sushi guy(Not a Chef) to take out order. When he did, he was taking my sons order and walked away as my son was talking. He didn’t even ask me what I wanted. I guess he had ordered enough. So we let it go and thought we would order more later. No chance. It took another thirty minutes before we started getting any of served. Then we got two of the small nigiri and one small roll. Waited another twenty minutes for the rest of the food. We could over hear people complaining about the wait, or that they were missing part of the order. The had one hip hop gangster behind the sushi bar, one girl running the front and waiting tables and one kid carrying plates back and forth from from to back. Hard to tell if anyone was in the back. There were dirty plates at the bar that sat there for most of our visit. In fact, they were not going to seat us at the bar because of the dirty areas that had not been bused. We got scowled at when I asked to sit at the counter. Unbelievably slow and totally unapologetic about the poor service. No wasabi or ginger was offered to us. We decided to eat what we managed to order, pay and leave. We went to Love Boat. Never going back.

So four months ago when I wrote a review for this place I guess I didn’t take into consideration that we were the ONLY customers in the entire restaurant. Tonight we went in for dinner. the restaurant was about 1⁄3 full. It took the waitress a long while to bring us water. We finally ordered 3 sushi rolls. The service was slow and terrible! It took forever to get the rolls. After our second roll she asked us if we needed anything else. We said no thinking she was just checking on us… NOPE. She was gone for an entire 15 minutes and then brings us our check. HELLLLOOOOO… Where is our other roll??? When I told her she forgot a roll she says«oh you want another roll?» NO! TERRIBLETERRIBLE Service! Everything took so long and she didn’t even bring us our full order… I will never come back here! This place needs better service!

Great little sushi place right next to home. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not very busy… a plus for us! Staff was very attentive and didn’t disappear on us(another plus for us). Nobi(I think that’s how he spells it) was our chef and the rolls were AMAZING! Very clean, relaxing and the bathrooms were nice too! Hidden gem!

I checked this place out twice last month and it was not bad. I am not a sushi expert, but I know when I get freshly made sushi. Plus, it was obviously fresh since I watched the sushi in the making. The ingredients seemed fresh as well. Both times that I’ve visited this place we practically had the place to ourselves. There is plenty of seating, booths, tables and sushi bar available. The place is very clean, nicely decorated, and I can speak for the women’s restroom, it’s clean. The servers are friendly and the sushi chef is able to work with you if you need to make a little change to your sushi order. My last visit here I ordered, Oh! Cheese sushi(fried, lightly crunchy roll), a bowl of Shrimp Fried Rice, and a glass of Plum Wine. Everything was very good. Something about Japanese fried rice, it’s always yummy. The parking can be packed at times since it is in a strip mall area. Some of the parking spots in front of the businesses are limited time parking.
I would definitely keep the sushi spot on the list to try again.

Just so good. There is a reason these guys have so many reviews! It was kind of a dump before. The menu is fresh and new and they always have new items on their menu. I seriously love the no rice rolls. They are delicious.

Can’t say I was impressed… I went in on a whim, which I am sorry for now because I normally go to Love Boat sushi, to order 2, to-go veggie rolls and it seemed to take quite a while even tho the place wasn’t even packed! I hadn’t been to this restaurant and most likely won’t go back– it felt dark & small. The man taking my order wasn’t welcoming in the least– I didn’t receive a greeting upon entering or even a thank you for your order– he didn’t tell me how long it would be or where to sit & wait. He brought me the order in the bag without a word and then just walked away– he didn’t mention anything about chopsticks or condiments inside so I had to ask, and as I was leaving he missed yet another opportunity to thank me or say goodbye– poor customer service! When I opened the box at home I wasn’t impressed– 12 small pieces of veggie sushi and a half full container of spicy mayo. It tasted average and maybe a little mushy — all that for 11 bucks w tax– maybe I’m wrong but I seem to remember bigger portions at other places, so for all that I mentioned above and my perceived value for the price– I think I may do a better job making them myself at home!

The service was fast and friendly; however I was there early well before the evening rush and there were only a few folks in the place besides me. Never having been there, I decided on the beef Yakisoba and a spice tuna roll. The beef Yakisoba was very good — the noodles and spices all complimented each other and left me wanting more. The spice tuna roll was okay — not bad but not exceptional either. This was a little disappointing, as spice tuna is a fairly standard roll and is a good gauge to get a feel for how other rolls might turn out. The roll I received was okay, but a little flat. The rice was good, which is always key, and the tuna was fresh. But overall it just didn’t have that punch that a spice tuna roll usually has. The layout of the restaurant and bar is very nice and modern — clean sharp lines with lots of room to get around in when it’s busy. This is especially true at the sushi bar. There were several large flat screen TVs set up to accommodate the after hours crowd. I will be coming back as their menu has lots of yummy items on it and I definitely want to try the beef Yakisoba again. I loved the atmosphere here and I’m interested in finding out how it changes with increased customer craziness especially on a Friday or Saturday nights with those TVs blasting sports games.

Ever since Nobi took over, we love this place. We go here at least once a week, and never had a bad roll or bad sashimi. Nobi is really nice and friendly, and makes great sushi. Our favorite is the Dark Night, but you can’t go wrong, as they have many creative rolls, delicious and nicely presented.

We had salmon skin roll, oh cheese!, and BSC roll. All of them were great. The oh cheese was really tasty. The salmon cheek was a great portion and was well cook. Above all, the salmon nigiri was the best we had since moving in here last year. It melts in your mouth. Staff was friendly. The owner actually took time to talk to all the customer which was great. He recommended baby yellowtail, and my husband loved it. We’ll definitely coming back!

I’ve been here a few times just because it’s pretty close to home. I don’t eat sushi a lot but when I do I just get the California rolls and shrimp tempura. Sushi Island is ok but comparing it to Teri café there’s no comparison. The employees are pretty nice and there is one employee who plays the guitar very well. I got the bonito plate and it was okay it was pretty small compared to teri café and it didn’t taste the same. Also Teri Café give you a whole bunch of food which is always nice. I got their hot sake but it wasn’t that hot it was more like lukewarm. This place could be a lot better but for the location it’s alright. Even the chicken teriyaki bowl was just alright I was expecting a lot more but I should have known better. I’ll probably come again because the prices aren’t too bad and like I said its close to my house.

I decided to give Sushi Island another try after I heard they were under new ownership. All I can say is WOW! The restaurant had done a complete 360. The staff was very friendly, the place looks much better than before and the food was delicious! I’m just bummed that I waited so long to give it another try! Don’t let the older bad reviews keep you from coming here, it’s like a brand new restaurant and I am happy glad I tried them again. I ordered the Dancing Queen, pacific roll, Cali roll and philly roll. The fish was very fresh and the prices were reasonable. I really enjoyed the dancing queen and will definitely order again. The others were really good also. I’m glad that Sushi Island has come around, I live close, so I will be back!!!
