Every time I’ve gone to Tapioca Express, their employees have been kind, accommodating, and helpful. Sometimes I venture from my favorite Original Milk Tea drink, but consequently discover that I actually crave a different flavor. In those instances, their workers always generously replace my drink without hesitation. I’m impressed by their fun atmosphere, hospitable nature, and appetizing food and drink. Their menu is so large and diverse to suit any taste. I often visit this location with friends whenever we need a pick-me-up or change of mood. All in all, I would recommend this eatery to any caffeine– and/or snack-lover in North County!

I been through a lot of boba place but this place sucks. we usually order chicken and squid balls is a big disappointment compare to other boba place cause they cut their squid balls in half making look like a whole squid ball and chicken is mostly breaded not enough chicken. avoid this boba place

They do not accept phone order. That’s very strange and inconvenience, I have inky 30 mins during lunch break, I can order meal or drinks over the phone. Which I even offer to provide my credit card, when I went in to the store, there is only 1 customer in the store. I ordered friend chicken, squid ball, and drink. Took about 20 mins to come with my order, first thing I noticed is squid ball seems mushy. So I tasted a small bite, it was badddd, I immediately handed the bag to the cashier, he apologized and brought the bag inside. Then 20 mins later, he brought me a new bag said this is from a different bin. And it was okay!!! Continue with my lunch. Chicken was good, until I grabbed one piece of chicken was trapped by a long hair. I lost all my appetite. I, again, handed the chicken to the cashier… Throw all my food away :( Will not recommend this place, I don’t think I’ll ever go back again !!

I don’t understand why this place has 3.5 stars??? this is literally the best boba place ever. I’ve been going here for over a year and they’re awesome and super nice and know my order which is pretty cool. I live for this place and I’m never really down to get boba anywhere else. You can never go wrong with a frosty milk(I think it’s the best item on the menu) and add lychee cause lychee jelly is Soooo good!

My boyfriend and I crave this place! The vanilla chai milk tea hot with boba(no syrup) is my favorite! The jasmine and jade tea are yummy as a hot milk tea too! The customer service here is always great!

Didn’t realize that they have food there, I thought it was only drinks. The food isn’t expensive and it’s very good. The staff is super friendly also. I will be back for more very soon

Mm mm mm, the boba is great. sure, but this review isn’t about the drinks. It’s about Jeffrey Cruz… boy is he great. He makes great drinks but have you seen his smile? To die for… thank you, Jeffrey for changing my religion to Church of Cruz!

Update 9÷16÷15: I keep coming back because it’s one of only a handful of boba spots in north county. No consistency here, drink wasn’t cold but warm and it was super thick. Not the consistency I’m use to with milk teas. Probably my last stop at this location I’d rather make the drive to the Clairemont location.

Haven’t gone to TapEx since college and had no idea it was in Oceanside. The prices for everything is still decent I would definitely order boba drinks and slushies and eat all their food. The only downside is that this location definitely doesn’t fill up the bag full of snacks or food like you would get at the TapEx at UCSD. I would still go here if ever in the area again only because I love their snack foods :)

2 stars because it seems clean. Waffles were disgusting. They must have been frozen and then defrosted, awful & the wait was forever…

One of my favorite places to get boba for sure! I have a lactose intolerance and each time they have accommodated my requests without trouble. My favorite drink is the coffee bubble with coffee jelly and boba. I am a coffee freak for sure and it’s so delicious!

This is your standard TapEx. There’s nothing too special about this place but the fact that it is probably one of a handful of places where you can get boba. I feel like the Asian scene isn’t as big as Convoy Street so there aren’t many choices for boba here in Oceanside. I always get the Thai tea with boba because you can’t go wrong with that. The thai tea here is the same as the other TapEx locations. The boba here is also pretty average. I highly recommend you stop by if you are looking for a boba place around here(because this is the only one in the area, I believe). I think Oceanside is becoming more and more diverse so maybe in the future, there will be more Asian eateries!

Boba milk tea. nuff sed Tapioca express has a wide variety of flavors. But my fav will always be the avocado bona and boba milk tea. Their staff are kool and always friendly. Good place to come and chill with my family. I prefer this place than starbucks…

My reasons for liking this place might differ from yours. 1. I love boba in general and TapEx is a franchise I’m familiar with. 2. I’m stationed at Pendleton and this is the closest TapEx 3. Its close to a lot of other good stores: Barnes & Nobles, Chipotle, Wal-Mart, BevMo, etc My only complaint would have to be the traffic in and around the area. I prefer milk teas + mini boba. That’s me though.

I’ve had my fair share of boba. Especially since I’m from Orange County and frequent Rowland Heights, Cerritos, and other Asian heavy areas. So being in North County has been a struggle finding good boba and authentic Asian eats. I’ve been to this Tapioca Express a few times. It satisfies the craving but that’s about it. Yesterday I ordered: — almond milk tea with boba — crispy chicken Not the worst, but not the best.

I have been to this location twice. I consider myself a tea aficionado, and as far as boba tea is concerned, I went to the trouble of learning to make boba pearls at home for more frequent and affordable consumption. When I do give in and get boba tea at a shop, I definitely want my money’s worth. The first time was alright(3 stars). I ordered a honeydew milk tea with tapioca pearls. It was pretty good, but nothing fantastic, and probably compared to all the other boba places I have tried, near the bottom. The second time, however, was terrible(1 star). I ordered the jasmine milk tea with tapioca pearls, and it was absolutely awful. The tea was incredibly bitter and not good at all. Not sure if they use a real tea concentrate or an artificial flavoring, but either way, there was so much of it that it ruined the drink. And not«so much» in the delicious flowery way jasmine teas are sometimes. It was bitter, like when you oversteep your tea and it’s so strong and nasty that you have to throw it down the drain and remake it. For $ 4.50, I definitely expect more. I see no reason to return, since there are plenty of other shops that can make my tea experience more delicious.

Praise to the Baby Jesus because it has been long overdue for a good boba place in North County! I’ve been to many Tap Ex’s in SD, OC, &LA, and all of them are pretty consistent with quality and taste! I’ve never had a bad experience with them! I love to get my Black Milk Tea with Boba, but I have also tried the Jasmine Milk Tea, Peach Green Tea, and Taro Snow Bubble! All of them are delicious and I honestly can’t tell you which one is my favorite because they’re all perfect! They’re even better with Boba in them too. I come here for the drinks, but on occasion I have been starving or craving a snack as well and decide to get the Crispy Chicken. OMG honestly perfect combo! Crispy Chicken, which is pretty spicy even for the mild setting, so bust out those napkins and prepare for some spice, with the sweet chili sauce to go with it to balance the two flavors out! Ultimately you get to experience the sweet, salty, spicy combo that’s perfect for a mid afternoon snack! I also have to point out the quality of customer service as well. Although the girl who took my order thought I wanted Iced Black Tea with Boba instead of Black Milk Tea with Boba, she quickly changed my order in a heartbeat and apologized, which wasn’t necessary but kind, and corrected the order. Wasn’t a big deal, but that kind of kindness didn’t go unnoticed! Thanks girl! I do apologize for not taking a photo of my yummy drink and food, but that would of required me giving up one of my hands to take the photo and well with the drink in one hand and the food in an another, I had to make a sacrifice! ;)
