The 615 at Odenton Gateway

This apartment was on my list of places to visit during my apartment hunting in March 2014. My sister and I set up an appointment. When we arrived to our appointment (and keep in mind we arrived at least 10 mins early) we were told that we would have to wait at least 30 minutes before someone could help us. We asked one of staff was it not policy for them to take their appointments over walk-​ins. We were told it was first come, first serve. All the other apartment communities we visited took appointments over walk-​ins. We were the only people of color in there that day. So we walked out and took our business elsewhere. We ended up renting at Flats 170 at the Academy Yard, because they were very professional and a Bozzuto run community. I would never live at property that would racially profile their potential residents.

Well things started off well when I first happened upon this property. When I stopped in I was greeted with a smile and a warm reception. I was in the midst of apartment hunting so this was not going to be my only stop. I informed the sales rep of that and she was completely understanding. After viewing the property I thoroughly impressed with what they had to offer. I went and viewed other properties and ultimately settled on this property. I called Jackie and informed her that I was interested in renting an apartment with her property. Then she informed me that BY STATE LAW rent had to be collected on the 1^st of the month and things would be prorated out for the remainder of the month. Unfortunately for her I’m not an idiot and could see through that lie. I called the Maryland State Attorney General office and confirmed that there was no such law. I called her back to let her know and she sheepishly apologized and said there was nothing that she could do. I won’t be renting here that is for sure. If you want to live in a community where the front desk lies and then attempts deflect the issue this is a place for you.

I have been living here since November 2012 and for me it’s great. The price tag varies but its close to Fort Meade and adjacent to all of the major highways such as 32, 97, 175 and more. The best part of this for me is that the 615 sits exactly 15 minutes between both of my companies locations and my kids school is ranked very high in the school system. It’s fairly quiet here and the management does help you in any way they can. My review cannot speak for all but I have had no problems here and I have continued my lease with them until its time for me to move on to my next location.
