Visited this Odessa icon on a Sunday afternoon and I must admit after being at this restaurant since my last time when I was a child, it was rather a pleasant visit. We started off with an Artichoke Dip and House Salad both which were really good. I ordered the Baby Back Ribs and some bacon wrap shrimp which was very moist, succulent and well cooked, both the baby back ribs and bacon wrapped shrimp I highly recommend. Overall, the food was great, our waiter was perfect, and the atmosphere and service was very relaxing, will consider making another visit soon. Just a heads up, the food is rather pricey but it is very home style quality.

One would think it would be good but far from it. Building and furniture 35 years old. Restroom wall caving in, sticky tables and seats. Tried the meatloaf and chicken fried steak thinking a restraint could not mess this up; I was wrong. Try Red Lobster across the street while you wait for service.

Wow. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants years ago so I was excited to go back. The smothered meatloaf was inedible and even the salad was wilted and disgusting. I sent it all back and went somewhere else. Very disappointing. They also need to update everything– the inside looks the same as it did 15 years ago.

Couldn’t cut my steak with the knife. Knife was pretty sharp. Paid $ 135 and went to wataburger. Possible worst restraunt experience ever.

I’ve never had disappointments with this restaurant, but this last visit had me convinced that alterations must be made. 1. We witnessed a 3 inch-long mouse scurrying underneath the booths, so we moved tables before we ordered anything. Considering this, the manager didn’t offer a free dinner/dessert/anything. Maybe I’m being selfish, but it just feels like a principle of the thing. 2. Service was decent. Our server was very courteous, but my main concern was with the manager. After mentioning the mouse, he brushed it off his shoulder as if we were joking. 3. The food. I will forever appreciate the zucchini chips, but I ordered a chicken fried steak that came out cold along with mashed potatoes. I’m a fan of Harrigan’s, but my moderate expectations weren’t met at all.

After driving all dat arrived to have dinner. Our first mistake was going to the bar. Patrons are allowed to smoke and they sure were. Food was adequate. Bar was dirty and vents were not clean. Hanging glasses dusty and dirty. Oh well, our only visit. Disappointing as we have had good luck using Unilocal

I have eaten in Harrigan’s more than a dozen times. Let me say that I have never been disappointed, NEVER. Steaks are excellent always. Sides are always delicious. Never had dessert there so cannot speak to them. Can say service has been adequate to excellent, with very good most of the time. If you want a good centrally located steakhouse try Harrigan;s.

Always a good place for steaks or prime rib. May be a bit pricey, but nice ambience and decent service. Although there are many steakhouses in Odessa, most are chain(Logans, Texas Roadhouse, etc.) and not as nice an atmosphere.

Right off the bat, there was no host(ess). We stood at the entry nearly 10 minutes, and nobody came to seat us. We ended up sitting in the bar, and still had to flag someone down. A table adjacent to ours had not been bussed, and remained in that state for quite a while. We had to get our own place settings. We ordered the bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer, which was delicious, with a generous amount of pepper crusting. When the salads arrived, the server ignored the empty appetizer plate. I ordered the New York strip, with the New Orleans potatoes. The steak was closer to medium rare, than the medium I ordered, but was still delicious. There was more tough tissue than I would expect for a $ 26 strip. The potatoes were amazing, very creamy. My companion ordered the baby back ribs, with the fried asparagus. The ribs were delicious, smoky, good flavor, tender. The asparagus was actually grilled, but delicious. Food is there, but overall mediocre experience.

The food as well as the restraunt is outdated. It is dark, dirty, stinky and dreary on the inside. They have mold growth and stains on the ceiling coming through the vent. The food was mediocre and over priced for the quality. Soggy main course and dirty ceilings made for a bad experience. I did however have a good waiter.

Overall, a great meal. I had the grilled Chicken del Mar with mashed potatoes and the grilled vegetables, it was fantastic. Good prices on the wine list, and a good selection. The waiter(I am sorry — I forgot his name) was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. My only reason for not giving 5 stars — a little too dark in the upper deck area(booth). Other than that minor detail, a great meal.

Everybody in every restaurant gets a bad waiter or waitress now and then. Odessa is especially vulnerable for this since help is so hard to find because of the booming economy. Hence that should not be a good reason to bash a good restaurant and give it only one star. We got a good friendly waitress and good food. Try the meatloaf. The place has aged but it is clean. In some circles aging is considered graceful.

Go! Yes the look could use some updating and the staff is hit or miss on the restaurant side(bar side is usually stellar, however, if you don’t mind the smoke!) But the foooooood. Man I miss the food. I moved away from Odessa and Harrigans is one of the few things I miss! Prime rib soup-to die for! Blue cheese dressing is possibly the best I’ve ever had. Bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp, yes please! Spinach and artichoke dip with hot buttered garlic toast: yummy! Country fried steak is out of this world! Bacon is cooked into the gravy making it a taste sensation! Try the new Orleans potatoes instead of fries or hell get the fries too and dip them in the mashed potatoes! Grilled asparagus is great with the blackened ribeye! Go for lunch! they have a daily special that’s usually a cooks creation and if it says prime rib sandwich order it and savor every bite! Throw some white cheese on it and ask for extra au jous! Save room for dessert because the pecan cobbler will make you quiver with delight :) try it with ice cream on the side first If you’re like me and melted ice cream doesn’t do it for you. Just go! Ignore the bad reviews and eat!

Worst seating experience! We literally had to go track down a hostess to seat us down after waiting for awhileee. Our waitress was trying too hard by repeatedly interrupting with questions such as «How is the food? How is everything? How is the food? Are you guys doing fine? How is the food?» Instead of being obnoxious, she could’ve just done her job and be helpful instead of PRETENDING to do her job. And WORST food experience ever. Food took forever to arrive and when it did arrive, it was cold. My salmon dish was *extremely* overcooked that it tasted like an overcooked chicken where you could not cut into the fish at all with a fork unless you use a knife(actual knife, not butter knife or you’ll still struggle). Additionally, the fried appetizers arrived at the same time as the entrees… cold and soggy! You can tell that the appetizers were frozen goods and not homemade… even Sam’s frozen goods are way better quality than this. Were any of these food here edible? No, barely. Even McDonald’s is better… no, joke. One of the few times that I actually use Unilocal to write reviews, here it is…

I’d love to be able to write a review about their food, but I can’t. I was on a business trip and after a long day really wanted a decent meal. I checked my trusty Unilocal for Odessa and Harrigan’s got generally good remarks. I phoned and checked and they said they seated in the dining room until 10:00. I got there at 9:15. I have a self imposed rule: I won’t ask to be seated within 30 minutes of closing, because I think it’s rude to the kitchen staff. Arriving at 9:15, I figured I was safe and I’d get a quick bite to eat and get out of their hair. So, I walk in at 9:15. No one is at the hostess stand. I look over in the bar, it’s got folks in there, but I don’t want to eat in the bar because they allow smoking in there… that’s ok, but I just don’t want to come out smelling like cigarettes. So, I wait, figuring somebody wil be back to seat me in a few minutes. Turns out I was SOL. 9:20…still nobody there. 9:25…nada. Servers are walking past the entry to the dining room on my right, and are looking at me, so they know I’m there. Nevertheless, nobody shows up. 9:30…You guessed it: zip on anybody showing up. Normally, I would have walked at 9:30, but this has become a quest, a test of wills, a crusade for food. I walk into the bar and ask the bartender if they were still seating folks in the dining room, and he said they were and that somebody would be along shortly. I go back and wait at the stand. 9:35…I am a man without a table. An outcast. Persona non grata. I haven’t seen anybody even approach the hostess stand. 9:40… Ok, f*** it, I give up. Hauled ass. Will never go back.

Food was really good, the fact they smoke in the bar area is kind of unpleasant if you are there alone and do not want to get a table. I had the prime rib with French onion soup. All the food was prepared very good!

Came here on a Monday night and it was excellent. Service was super fast, the food came out quickly and was delicious. I ordered a spinach salad and the bacon was in chunks. My coworker ordered soup and a side veggie and the French onion looked delicious. A dark pumpernickel bread was served with the meal too. Prices were reasonable, considering the location in Odessa. And on your way out, they have delicious mints. We were on and out in under 30 minutes… it was fantastic.

Food was great; cooked well, and very flavorful. Decent variety on the menu; a bit pricey, but everything we had was good. The kids food was really great as well. The restaurant looks a bit old. Nothing seriously bad, nasty, or anything like that, but its age does show. Pretty comfortable place overall. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. It was midday and slow, so I don’t know how good the staff is during really busy hours, but they were great when we were there. My family will definitely be coming back here. We really enjoyed it! Also, I love clam chowder, and their’s was fantastic!

I’m a fan… in town for an extended period of time(24 days in Jan 2013) I really enjoy this place. Friendly helpful staff, awesome service and well above decent food… What I’ve had off the menue — Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp — everything is better with bacon! French Onion Soup — great drippy cheese, awesome croûton, broth — not to salty which at most places it usually is and great tasty perfectly cooked onions. Ribeye — Med Rare, PERFECTLY cooked! I usually use A1, not on this«big olé» slab of meat, I was in heaven. Grilled veggies — great seasoning and still a bit of crunch, just the way I like em’. My buddy has had — Cajun Chicken Penne and the Chicken Provolone, if he had to choose one over the other he would say the Penne but loved both dishes. Nice wine list, and on the back page of the wine list they have close outs(low stock items) which are a great value. All in all, I’m not sure if the other reviewers are going to the same place as I am given past reviews are all over the place or if the GM(who I’ve spoken and chatted with many a times) has turned things around. Yeah, it could use a remodeling however that is easily overlooked given the staff and food are well worth the visit… time and time again.
