Horrible service Left me waiting in the lobby for over five minutes and there was no one else waiting. Sat me in the bar area. Waited for almost 10 minutes before we were offered a drink. My Pat’s ribeye came out cold and tasted like it had been cooked and re warmed. The manager Jordan took the steak off but I only took one small bite. I would strongly recommend that you should avoid eating at this place. The is JMO but the experience was horrible. I would give this place 1 out of 10 flapjacks. #Saltgrassserviceandfoodishorrible

Awesome food! Mady is the best server ever. She didn’t hover, but made sure that we were taken care of. My meal wasn’t what I expected, the staff compensated in a surprising way. Will always choose this place first!

This place has potential to be a solid 3 star, but there are a lot of kinks to work out. Since they recently opened, go with lots of patience. The short version: the service is disorganized; the servers are not knowledgable of their offerings; the food is not timed appropraitely, so you will be in charge of handling your dining experience. The details?: We sat in the bar and waited and waited. We watched lots of servers milling about, but no one stopped. Frustrated, I went to the bar and ordered 2 house Chardonnays. I got my ticket and they were $ 12 each! Going back to the table, my dining companion had finally gotten menus, and the wine we were served was the most expensive glass they serve. How is that house wine? Our waitress asked us if the manager had come to talk to us because he was going to move us. What? This is open seating. At this point we asked to speak to the manager. We explained our frustration with the wait and the wine. He offered to give us the difference on the house wine and returned some of our money. The table next to us got their appetizer and had barely had a bite when their soup and salads arrived. They sent them back to enjoy the appetizers then had a heck of a time finding someone to get them served again. When they were served, garnishes like avocado were missing, so they had to send them back again. We ordered and told the waitress, please do not let our entrée collide with the salad. While we were still working our salads, she came out to tell us our food was ready. Our options were to take the order or know it was sitting under a heater in the kitchen. This place has potential, but personally I would wait a while before returning.

Always crowded and really loud. Service was great considering the region. If the weather is agreeable, sit on the patio. I order the rib eye every visit and sometimes it doesn’t seem like a rib eye. maybe some other cut, or mabey even a Franken-rib eye… Google Meat Glue. Just speculating…

Great place for an end of workday robust thick steak with all the trimmings and a cold micro brew. Highly recommend, a top location in Odessa, west Tx.

I absolutely love their pats ribye. I have never had an issue with the waiters. The only thing is that drinks take forever at rush hour. They even suggest you get your order in before you are even close to being done with your drink.

The range rattlers were cold as if being pre poked and NOT held in a hot area. The shrimp inside the range rattlers were tough & chewy. The fried shrimp came out cold and the baked potato was hard as a rock. Good service. Poor quality food. Amarillo Saltgrass puts this one to shame. I do not recommend the odessa Saltgrass. Too many issues.

Its hit and miss with this Saltgrass. While the crab cakes are good. We also have have had some friendly servers. However, I have often found my order has been made wrong or food comes out bad. Last time they vastly over cooked my steak. I mean burned so much, that not even well done steak people would have eaten it. While I waited for almost 30 min for a replacement medium rare, I eventually told them to just forget my order. My husband already had eaten his food, and it was 10:30, we were ready to go home.(Keep in mind we had actually arrived at the restaurant at 7:45. They forgot to page us while we were sitting outside and our wait was very long) So I left without eating. In the end you think they would comp the food. NOPE. They just told me I did not have to pay for my steak. Of course I am not going to pay for something I never got. This is only one of the few bad experiences I have had. I always try to give a second(or third) tries to chains, as I know staff can change and improve. But so far, I think I may not go back.

Hello Saltgrass, made my second visit on a Friday evening once again and I must say the wait was long just about 45 minutes, we were finally seated and our server attended us. From here it went downhill, the food was ok, the sirloin wasn’t well done again, we asked for well done and we got medium well again just like on my previous visit, and that’s where a star falls off. I would give this place a star only but the manager went out of his way and attended us promptly for our refills of strawberry lemonade and correcting the steak order even though when it came back there was still pink in the middle. Overall: I wouldn’t give this place the time of day to order a steak, the wait is long, the service sucks despite the downturn in the oilfield and the cooks can’t seem to grill a steak.

First time at a Saltgrass. Outback and Logans won’t be seeing me again. My steak, potato, and bread were fabulous. The cheesy fries(potatoes) were delicious but had way too many chives on them. The service was outstanding. I was impressed that random waiters are bussed our table. You rarely see that anymore. I will be going back!

First time to this saltgrass most are great as I travel quite a bit this one is new and still working out the kinks but the service was very slow and the manager was extremely rude the gentleman next to me ordered a prime rib and it wasn’t to his liking after they had a bit of an altercation(verbally) about the quality of his meal he tried another steak and was still not satisfied with it and the manager although accommodated his initial complaint was not willing to listen to his other issues one bright spot was the bar back Celeste she tried to do what ever she could to accommodate everybody she is the only reason I gave 2 stars it took almost 1.5 hr to get a salad on my part

Drove 8 hours from Houston to Midland, this place was right by my hotel. Was feeling to lazy to drive somewhere to eat. This place is nothing to write home about. Ordered club soda that took 15 minutes to get to my table, ordered some soup, bowl came half empty and soup was luke warm if anything. It has been over 30 minutes waiting for my food, this place is over half empty. Finally order came and parts of it were wrong. Just finishing up and leaving.

Steak was over cooked, fish was undercooked. I usually enjoy salt grass. At this point I would not go back to the one on Odessa.

Never disappointed with the food or the service. You can tell that this company takes pride in its service. This is something very hard to find in Odessa.

We had a very good experience at the new Odessa Saltgrass Steakhouse. This is the first time we have ever been to one. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was about a 20 minute wait. The weather was good the day we went and it wasn’t unpleasant to wait outside on the benches and have a look at the menu. The food was very good; we had an appetizer of crab meat, avocado & chopped tomato in a cylindrical shape served with chips. We also had some very good homemade salsa with the extra chips. I got a N.Y. strip steak & baked potato and my friend got a chicken filet topped with feta cheese and diced tomato etc. We both really enjoyed them. Salads were good too and salad dressing was of a good quality and not an excessive amount. The waitress was polite and did a great job. The atmosphere here is kind of rustic inside but also maybe more upscale than say Texas Roadhouse. It is in the newest developed area in town near all the newest restaurants.

First night opening in my opinion seemed to go well from my dining experience. Lots of support staff(mangers, supervisors) and it was good to see them get their hands dirty as well. They served, they ran food, filled water what a surprise. The staff handled the pressure well they were busy and running but no one appeared frustrated. Wait time was good, food was hot and the service was great. My server was attentive made menu recommendations and did it all with a smile. Restaurant looks great and what a good start to open with. Consistency is the key and since I’m in Midland often a follow up will be coming. Nice job Salt Grass. You set the bar high, keep it up.
