Way better than expected and better than the Chinese restaurant down the street. The dinner combination was delicious and the portion size was very large. I highly recommend it!

Came in for a take out order. The service was super quick and this place was busy — I always take that as a good sign! The crab cheese wontons were phenomenal. I will be dreaming of these until I can come back to Utah! The egg rolls were good. The shrimp fried rice was also good, but I’ve had better.

This is the best Chinese in Utah! I have yet to find a Chinese place here that even compares to Golden Jade.

There a few other Chinese restaurants I prefer over the Golden Jade. Their food pricing is reasonable for how much is received. One meal here normally means a full lunch for the next day with the immense amount of leftovers. The authenticity is backed by the friendly workers. The help has always been pleasant even though, occasionally, communicating can be a challenge. The food speaks for itself and there is little wait time to receive orders. I’ve yet to order something that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. The egg rolls are top notch I’ve witnessed their preparation which is awesome because homemade always beats boxed store bought. I recommend Golden Jade to any Chinese food lover with a promise that you will become a regular pit stop.

Ahh, The Golden Jade. Where all the fat people go for mounds of pretty good food on the cheap. Boy, did I feel comfortable here! Here, I finally embraced my inner poor white trash proclivity. No longer did I simply dip my toes into that pool, I fell in with the best of belly flops. The Good~Best Lo-Mein I’ve ever had, except for the shrimp. Sayonora to any hope of controlling my high blood pressure tonight, though… the soy sauce was pooled at the bottom of the noodles. Ham Fried Rice? Haven’t seen actual pieces of ham and egg in «ham fried rice» for years, until here at the Golden Jade. And, amazingly enough, the rice didn’t dry out into tiny pieces of pellets after two or three minutes of sitting. Nice and moist. The sweet and sour chicken was the most tender and well cooked that I’ve ever had, anywhere. Paired with the traditional and authentic S&S sauce I grew up on. Soo good! Loved the egg rolls. Great flavor, even with no meat. Not too greasy with too much skin, which is the usual for so many other places. Lastly, tons of food for few $. The Bad. Many of the shrimp in my shrimp lo-mein had quite a strong, «shrimpy,» flavor. My husband, who’s been in the food business for over two decades, reassured me that the shrimp were not turning, it was simply the flavor of the shrimp. I still think the shrimp were just on this side of turning. Regardless, bad taste. Had to devein one. Have heard that’s the poop tract. Grrooss! Went to the internet to find that this vein is not going to kill me. Still, it is the«intestinal tract.» Careless cleaning. Tough and overcooked as well. The S&S chicken; cold. Not fresh out of the fryer. The soup was soo hot(not necessarily a bad thing) that it still needed to cool a little more at the end of the meal. The bad? The soup was pretty strong, not in a good way, in it’s flavor as well. A problem with tweaking the recipe rather than the freshness, in this case. Maybe too much vinegar? Lastly, with how cheap it was, they were as bad as McDonald’s in not allowing any substitutions, even if it would have saved them money. I couldn’t substitute S&S Pork for the chicken. Precooked in their kitchen to save time during the dinner rush, maybe? Would I go back? I think so. I would like to try the S&S pork. Would it be tender and moist like the chicken? Or hard as a rock. like everywhere else I’ve gone? I would return it if it were cold this time. No way on the shrimp. Willing to see if the other dishes are done as well as most of my meal was. Can’t care about my health and fitness here at all. Leave that at the door as you go in! Embrace your inner poor white trash. «Attention K-Mart(oops, that’s Wal-mart now) shoppers.»

The Good. It’s not expensive. The waitress was kind and friendly. The Ok. Low Mein as ok. Nothing to brag about but we ate it. They have only 5 or 6 tables if you want to eat there and there are certainly no frills. Paper plates and plastic ware, which would all be fine — if the food was just better. The Bad. We ordered lemon chicken. The chicken was dry and hard and the lemon sauce was flavorless. We ate a few bites, left the rest on the plate and took none home. Based on other reviews maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.

Wait, am I missing something? This food is good and it’s a great value, but it’s definitely not the best Chinese I’ve had in Ogden. I’ve had many friends recommend this place so I was excited to finally give it a shot. When my husband ordered the food he was greeted by an incredibly friendly lady. The service was incredible. We got more than enough food for two people for less than $ 10. We ordered the Mongolian chicken dinner combination which also comes with ham fried rice, wonton, egg roll, sweet and sour chicken, and egg drop soup. Oh, and it was done in 5 minutes(maybe this is part of the problem?) Great service. Great value. Decent food. Here’s my problems with our food: 1) the ham fried rice was pretty much just rice. There was hardly any ham or egg in it and there wasn’t any veggies. 2) my Mongolian chicken had a lot of beef accidentally mixed in to it. 3) the Mongolian chicken was half carrots and onions — which weren’t cooked well so we ate the chicken and tossed the rest. 4) the sweet and sour chicken was soggy. Because of the incredible price, I’ll try it again. My typical Chinese take out place is about 30% more. However, this place wasn’t as good(this time anyway). It was good, but not as good.

Gross. I thought I would like it after reading the reviews, but food was really gross. The waitress was not nice either.

My wife and I went here for lunch a while back and I was extremely unimpressed. The rice seemed old/sitting out for hours. I ordered the General’s Chicken and it was overly fried and very hard to chew through. I won’t be coming back and encourage others not to try it, at least during lunch in the middle of the week.

Great place to dine in or take out… Terrific thick noodles for your chow mein or thin crispy noodles for lo mein. I suggest the seasonal items they have. Like last night, I had beef with fresh green beans that was great. Also have had the garlic and shrimp when they have fresh giant prawns. Can’t go wrong at this joint. I even put in a to go order while at the restaurant and it was ready within 10 minutes.

The Golden Jade is honestly really great. My food was out to me really fast and I was impressed with how much food I got for how much I paid. If I am in Ogden and I want Chinese food this is where I am going. The meal deals they have are pretty impressive as well. Overall a great establishment.

I absolutely love Golden Jade. It is by far my fiancé and I’s favorite restaurant to eat at in town. The pricing is very reasonable especially for their lunch specials and their servings are very generous. Food has never been anything below fantastic. Their crab wontons are to die for. The only reason I gave them a 4 is because they serve on paper plates… a little tacky and because the customer service is very do it yourselfy they leave a pitcher of water at your table and serve you and pretty much leave you be. Can not express enough how much I love them. HIGHLY recommend

Can’t say much about the service as we ordered take out. The food was pretty damn tasty in my book. Best I’ve had in Ogden so far. Fried rice rocks!

I’m concerned that so many people think this place is 5 star worthy… it is so disgusting. First, we walked in and got in line. One of the employees yelled if we were staying or going. We said staying so she walked us to the back corner and didn’t say a word. Sat us down, no menus. My wife got up to get a menu and the lady abruptly told her she was going to get them. So she brings the menus and literally TOSSED them to us and walked off. She came back like a minute later for the order. I told her we were still deciding and she was gone in a flash. We get the food in under 5 min including the appetizer and main food, which shows they do not make fresh to order like some of our favorites places. We never did receive the egg drop soup(which is probably a blessing). The egg rolls were so nasty(I’m not picky with Chinese either) and the food left little to desire. We asked for water and got these tiny ass foam cups you would take camping and then she never refilled it. Instead, she got her own food and ate her little heart out in a nearby table. So professional… I would absolutely never come here again. The service is worse than the food.

SO good. My go-to for Chinese food in Ogden. The prices are good, the owners are great – I came in the other day a few bucks short on my take out without realizing it, and they opened a tab for me. Couldn’t recommend more highly. :) the ham fried rice is the best I’ve had in Ogden! All the food is good. :)

OK, I’m not at all familiar with Ogden or the eating establishments in the area so when we found ourselves in the area around dinner time and hungry we turned to Unilocal! It happened that we were just down the street from a good recommendation called Golden Jade. We quickly turned into the parking lot and saw the small restaurant and decided to give it a try! Immediately we were warmly greeted and seated at the table of our choice. This is a very small place with an open concept but it was very nice and clean. The server was very helpful and helped us with some choices. We did a family style meal for my husband and myself and we chose to get the schezuan beef and also the general tso chicken. Very quickly our eggdrop soup was brought to our table. It was very flavorful and loved the added chicken and corn that they put in there! The food arrived piping hot and it was really fast. The ham fried rice is delicious! We also got fried shrimp and egg rolls with our meals and both were really fantastic! Both entrees were spot on with their flavors and the portions are huge! I haven’t had really great Chinese food in awhile and I’m thrilled with our choice last night! The owner spoke to us and she has been there for 10 years and also has a place in Logan! We don’t get up to Ogden very often but I tried to convince her to open up a place near us in West Jordan! ha ha Seriously some great food, quick and kind service and loved how it was family owned and operated! If we are ever in the area we will certainly go there! Golden Jade was delicious!

Really nice employees and fast service. I had the Mongolian beef which was actually quite spicy. Along with beef the dish also had lots yellow and green onions along with carrots. The ham fried rice and spring roll were not bad either.

This is a teeny, tiny restaurant in Ogden. And when I say small, I mean small! You can see the entire kitchen and what is going on in it. It’s about the size of a large master bedroom closet. The dining area is also pretty small. I always order To-Go because I never know if there will be a place to sit as the restaurant is pretty popular. When you order your food is ready in less than ten minutes. I don’t know how they do it! It’s hot and fresh and never tastes like it’s been sitting under a heat lamp. They must have some lightning fast cooks or something. If you like large portions of pretty good Chinese food… this place is for you! Everything I got was good every time I’ve been here. Crab and cheese wontons are really yummy but I don’t really have to tell you that since every other reviewer has pretty much said it already. I liked the egg flower soup. It has a lot of corn but I think it makes it yummy and more hearty and filling. I was disappointed in the spring roll that came with the combo. I thought it would be an egg roll instead. The house special chicken is good if you like some spice! Fried rice is pretty typical. They threw in a scoop of Sweet and Sour chicken just for kicks I guess and it was delicious! BBQ pork lo mein is typical. Wish it had a little more flavor. Just remember… when you order a lunch order, it is the size of a lunch order for Godzilla. You can easily split it. They really pack that food into those styrofoam containers! I highly recommend Golden Jade due to the cost of a lot of pretty good Chinese food. And if you’re in a hurry… don’t worry… they will have it ready fast!

This place is eerily fast. Like, call in your order and it is ready to go in less than 10 minutes fast. I thought that would take away from the quality but found that the Hot n Spicy truly was hot n spicy. The Tso’s chicken was fantastic and the wife loved the Kung Pao chicken. The crab wontons were a win but the egg rolls were a bit bland. The dining room is small and eating in might be a challenge on a busy night. IT appeared most of the food was coming from steam tables but the pace of the business kept everything we ordered pretty fresh. Pricing is extremely reasonable and the staff friendly. Parking is a little rough on a Saturday night but worth the hassle. An online menu was a little difficult to find as well.
