Holy high hair, Batman! this place was iconic and tragic at the same time: tragiconic(I made a new word!) It was as if Barbie’s Friendship Cruiseship circa 1970 anchored itself in Ogden. A sea of black lacquer bistro chairs, checkerboard tile, artificial ferns and Peter Max graphic designs coupled with a menu heavy on casseroles and chicken… The place was wall to wall with ladies who were freshly blue rinsed, wet set, and teased high… it felt like Sunday morning on a Tuesday afternoon. Mormon muffins were good(hence one star) and the service was also efficient(hence the other) the food was NOT good. I had the Thomas Devan: turkey and broccoli in a curry cream sauce. It was sliced turkey cold cuts topped with brocolli butter and cheese with a cream sauce with no determinable flavor profile. Pepper and hot sauce were added, and I NEVER add hot sauce to anything. I only ate it out of guilt, because I did not want to offend. I could not stop looking around… it was surreal. Tragiconic. This restaurant is set inside an overwhelmingly large complex that contains a gift store that feels like a flea market: booth after booth of everything from fine jewelry to lint rollers. The hallway to the bathroom smells like a nursing home, and the bathroom smelled worse! I would come again to people watch and eat the Mormon muffins, but I would not drive out of my way to get here.

Time to upgrade inside. Seats all need to be replaced. If they’re dirty, what’s the kitchen like. Food salty, but the waitress was GREAT and took some off the bill. We love it here, but put some money BACKINTO the place.

I couldn’t take the smog in SLC any more so I drove to Ogden Canyon hoping to see Blue Skies. Luckily I did and since I was so happy I had lunch at one of my favorite places, The Greenery. I always have the Hedda Gobble Turkey Sandwich with Pasta Salad. I can’t leave without Mormon muffins either. Once you’re really full you can stroll around the gift shop and find things that are so quaint and you will not find them anywhere else. I had a great day got out of the Smog so if you need to do the same take a drive this weekend and have lunch at the Greenery. You’ll be happy you did.

Tried it twice and both times sent the food back. I’m not terribly picky but when I lose my appetite just looking at the eggs Benedict or supposed eggs Benedict — its not good. Go to Taggert grill of Jeremiah’s instead.

Great place for lunch. Mormon muffins are a must try, a little over priced but good. Calming atmosphere and nice location.

We live about a half an hour away from Rainbow Gardens, so it wasn’t convenience that brought us today, and it’s the service, or lack of, that will keep us from going out of the way again. We came mid afternoon, knowing the lunch rush would be over, and we were right. There were about 4 other tables occupied. We were sat, browsed the menu, and then we waited, and waited, and waited, no one ever paid any attention to us. Several servers walked right by without so much as a glance, and then a couple was sat and got immediate service so we got up and left. It was a really disappointing experience!

Beautiful location at the mouth of the canyon, just don’t eat there. I and visitors have tried different things and were NOT impressed. Just try the avocado shrimp salad and you will understand.

Ordered a Baked Potato entrée, topped /stuffed with Chile Verde. Decent presentation, tasty Chile Verde, but I soon discovered that the large potato they used was loaded with black spots in the potato. In fact where the potato was sliced open by the cook there was a very large black area about the size of my thumb. So I had to eat the potato very carefully, cutting out spots as I went along. The food server checked on us and I let her know that the cook might want to be more careful in preparing the food, cutting out any spoiled areas before serving. No big deal, I was eating most of the potato. But then the waitress returned to tell me that the manager said those were places stained by the meat in the Chile Verde, not black spots. He /She did not bother to come look at the woody black chunks that I had sitting beside my plate. Like I was not able to tell black spots from stains! Showed such a lack of interest in the guest experience that I did not bother to tell anyone about the black hair I later found in the Chile Verde. I was absolutely not looking for a free meal as I had already eaten ½ the dish and polished off another ¼ before giving up after seeing the hair. It seemed that I cared much more about assuring a quality experience than the manager, so my advice — skip this place. We’ve dined there before but now it’s off our list.

MUFFINSREVIEW: Saw the sign for Mormon muffins on our way to the dinosaur museum and we had to stop and try it. We are visitors and new to the area, so we did get a few stares in the parking lot and at the restaurant, but we didn’t let that bother us from trying the muffins! We got a 6 pack in a cute box with honey sauce. The muffins were very soft and warm, fell apart and was delicious! Definitely recommend a stop here just for the muffins. We got it to go so we didn’t eat at the restaurant, but it looked cute and the décor inside felt like it was an outdoor café with nice greenery.

My wife loves this place so we go here a few times a year. This is my review and I think it is pretty good. I don’t think it is as bad as a lot of people are making it out to be. My wife always gets the divan and loves it every time. I try something different each time. So far nothing has failed me. I have not tried all the dishes though. Their muffins are really good but are expensive. I think 6 of them are about 10 bucks. That is my only complaint is the high prices on some of the good items. I like the atmosphere and the service has always been good. Go here for a new experience.

Service was pretty good, the ambiance and scenery is awesome. Food…go somewhere else. All their food was disgusting. Soup was not good, my chile verde burrito was not good. Everything tasted bad, and I would never eat here again. It is pretty pricey as well. This place made my stomach upset and also my SOs as well. Avoid like the plague!

Wow I thought I was the only one that disliked this place until I saw all of these reviews. In my opinion this place is just really really bad. The clientele is a much older crowd. That is how they survive. By serving people who’s taste buds no longer work like they used too. Nothing on the menu is good. I really mean nothing! Everything is soooo bland! Spend a bit more money and go to the Timbermine that is close by.

There are a couple problems with this restaurant, the food and the prices. Food is bland and really flavorless. The mormon muffins are ok but seriously overpriced. The food is also pretty overpriced for what you get. I’ve had better food at dennys. The gift shop is great to walk around though, they have tons of neat stuff in there so that’s what I would suggest doing instead of eating there.

I have a very honest question– how are they still open?! Servers are very nice and prompt– the food is one of the worst in Utah. I’m baffled to how they have survived for decades…
