How could anyone give this place a negative review? The food is always amazing. So affordable for large portions! Have loved coming here for years now.

Excellent food, great margaritas, I had the Carnitas burrito wet and it was to die for. 2^nd half had the chicken salad and was also great.

We were camping at Lake Casitas and decided to venture out to Ojai for dinner with 5 other families (party of 13). We picked Casa de Lago randomly never having been there before. We were a little apprehensive because it looked small from the outside but fortunately they had a patio area that was very comfortable. They got us situated quickly and the staff was very friendly and not intimated one bit by the size of our party.
Our server was calm, courteous and kept track of us separately as a family which made our experience so much easier, Again she was unfazed and got everyone’s order spot on right. Food came out hot and was really good. I judge Mexican restaurants by their re-​fried beans and Chile Verde and both were phenomenally good. Price was very reasonable. I can safely say that we have a «go to» Mexican restaurant whenever we are in Ojai,

Best mexican food in Ojai, not saying much. I haven’t been able to find much in mexican food in Ojai. Basic taco, enchilada, chile Relleno combo plate place. Good cheap magaritas.

Four star meals with 4star service. A quick late lunch is fine. The Flan was really good. I also had shrimp fajitas. It was good. I would go back and enjoy the view outside with the lovely Bluejay again.

Casa de Lago is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Ojai. Their prices are affordable, servings are good sized too. They will bring you chips and 2 different salsas and when the weather is nice they have a cute patio for dining al fresco. If you ask they’ll open the umbrellas so you can enjoy being outside in the shade.
We go here for breakfast every few weeks. I’m not a beans and rice eater so I appreciate being able to order almost everything on the menu a la carte.
Today for a change of pace I thought I’d check in with Unilocal and I noticed that they had a SPECIAL OFFER link on their Unilocal Page. — WARNING!!! don’t try to use this 15% discount on the weekend. They won’t accept it even if it does say «Dine In Lunch Special» Apparently they don’t mean it.
Too bad that for the $ 2.00 they could have taken off the price of my meal that I now have a little less love for this place.

Excellent! I had the a la carte chili relleno and a shredded beef taco. Passed on the rice & beans. Good delicious and service good. I highly recommend this place.

I love this place so much, I spend any special occasion here. Today is my Birthday and we are driving from the Valley just to go :) They have the best combination burrito and salsa :)

I haven’t reviewed this place in a while. It’s still one of my favorite places to eat in Ojai and I come here very frequently. The hot, made-​in-​house all you can eat chips aren’t the best I’ve had, but they’re good, and my husband still gets the carnitas or carne asada tacos. I’m now getting the shrimp tacos and BOY are they good! Not everyone knows how to cook shrimp but the chefs at Casa de Lago sure do. I’ve ordered dozens, maybe hundreds of tacos here and it’s always juicy and flavorful!
I came here last night with a friend who wasn’t sure if he wanted a carnitas taco or a carnitas plate. Our server (Casey! Woot!!) explained that the carnitas plate would give you more meat and it came with tortillas so you could sort of make your own tacos. He got that and it was WAY more food than getting one taco. It came with three tortillas and he easily made three tacos out of them and still had meat and lettuce and guacamole to eat after that! We both enjoyed our dinners mightily.
Last note, it sounds funky but if you’re really hungry, like sweets and/​or are in a group of people, try their fried ice cream dessert. It’s a big dessert (perfect to share with 2 – 4 people) and has a giant scoop of ice cream rolled in… (coconut?) and fried, then dropped into a tostada-​like shell but it’s got cinnamon and sugar all over it. SOOO good! People look at me funny when I order the fried ice cream. Friends/​family in my party say «Well… we’ll try one bite…» and then they end up helping me eat the whole thing easily!

Stumbled upon this place on Unilocal while we were visiting Ojai. We had lunch here and were able to use the 15% off check-​in offer on the Unilocal app. What a nice surprise!
We shared the chicken nachos and then got wet burritos. My favorite part about this place was the chicken — it was very well seasoned and moist and flavorful. The burrito was huge and all the vegetables tasted fresh. The service was also good, and the prices are very reasonable.
Would definitely return next time we are in town!

I love and value genuine Mexican food. If you do too, look further. Pretty much mediocre all around. Only veggie option is the «veggie burrito» with «lettuce and tomato» and cheese… or the bean and cheese burrito. Tough carne asada. Bland and over cooked rice. Canned beans. Good chips but sub par salsa ala old El Paso (red, runny, mild with onions… you know the type). Decent guacamole though. Shouldn’t it be «Casa DEL Lago» anyway… should have known…

Always wonderful service, friendly people, fast, accurate food, and all around a wonderful experience. I love the heaters on the patio, makes it cozy and you get fresh air at the same time! Or inside with the cute overhead lamps create a homey feel. Not one complaint here!

Went there for breakfast after a weekend of camping. It’s not authentic! It was very disappointing. Never again! Not to mention our waitress was very rude and seemed irritated with a large group :/

Great food great friendly wait staff. We had the cheese dip. Awesome flavor. Also wet burritos and shredded beef tacos. Very generous portions.

Our Sunday brunch place. We always get the shredded burrito «wet», a garden burrito with rice and beans and a grilled chicken and cheese burrito for our picky eater.
They bring you baskets of chips with freshly made salsa to die for.
Food is prepared fresh. Sparkling clean, cozy place with nice family vibe.

On an early Saturday evening, I stopped here after spotting the large outdoor patio and was hoping for a taste of Mexico before returning to camp but no dice. Ojai has a pet-​friendly reputation which is second to none, however Casa de Lame-​O apparently didn’t get the memo as they will not allow animals on their patio. Thank you Unilocal for updating the description so customers know they will not permit dogs…
When I asked why, they incorrectly cited a Ventura County ordinance referring to pets inside a restaurant. Aside from the fact that my dog is a service animal, the entrance to their patio skirts their dining area through an interior foyer, which is permitted.
Now I did notice a nice, shaded patio area just West of the building which would make an ideal location for hungry customers and their pets. All it requires are a few tables and chairs. Get with the program guys and stop hating pet owners and making lame excuses to not serve them…

Great burritos with really, really good sauces. We love calling in a couple to pickup for an easy dinner. Carne asada and chile Colorado area favorites, but we haven’t tried anything we haven’t liked. Just an all around solid Mexican food joint.

Love this place! The Carne Asada Burrito is so juicy and delicious. Love there Chips and Salsa. The Sauce in the Burrito they put taste so good. It taste like the Sauce they put on the Chile Rellenos. I highly recommend this place I would definitely come back.

Great food for a good price. Casa is one of my favorite places to eat. The servers are very friendly, food is very good and the prices are even better. The complimentary chips and the mild salsa I can make of meal out of that. Great job Casa Ojai. Keep up the good work!

Great location, I had a chile verde pork burrito, wife had the chili colorado. Both were the size of a football, smothered in delicious sauce and cheese and stuffed with meat (which was amazingly tender)
All this for $ 5.75 (lunch special) along with complimentary chips and salsa? You cannot go wrong. The also have a great outdoor seating area
