As an out-of-towner visiting family, I was thrilled to stumble upon this place. Excellent pie(cherry crumble was my fave), surprisingly good grilled cheese, and my kids LOVED the applesauce. Nice staff, good for small kids.

First of all, let me compliment the staff. They always make my day, even when I’m being ridiculously indecisive(their menu seems to have expanded lately, making this harder — maybe one of the few reasons it didn’t get 5 stars). I loved that they’re Michigan owned and that a lot of the food has a Michigan theme. It feels like home. Usually for lunch I’ll have the smoked ham and havarti because I love the apple butter mustard combo so much, but for breakfast I get the breakfast sandwich, and Lucy’s Cuban is great as well(but isn’t a traditional Cuban, for the purists). Overall, a little kitschy, but for a fast casual(that yes, is pretty fast), solid place to stop in.

I love pie! I came during lunch on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised at how much seating was available. I saw the 10 $ 3-course combo and decided to go for it. It was cold out and some chicken pot pie sounded amazing. The combo came with a pot pie, a slice of pie, and a house salad. It was a great deal and I was so stuffed so I had to take my slice of pie home. The sandwiches sounded amazing and the display case of sweets looked temptingly delicious. My coworker got a chicken salad and the broccoli cheddar soup. My slice of pie was even more delicious the next day — Michigan apple crumble all day every day!

Strawberry rhubarb crumble pie is awesome! I have only eaten this from this establishment and it’s the best tangy crunchy pie in the whole world.

Bad service, poorly organized. Can’t rate the food as I left before having any. Stopped in to get a couple of the advertised Pasties advertised in the local paper. Article said you can get them there or to go frozen. I asked for two of them and was told they cant sell frozen ones. I told the person that it was in the paper just this last week. She then hollered to one of the employees and he yelled back«It’s a typo». When asked again he turned away. I continued to try to get a couple to go but it was like wadding in mud. When I left I knew I would never come back. It wasn’t so much that perhaps they found out they couldn’t sell them frozen it was the attitude. Would not recommend this place to others. In the meantime a good friend that goes north regularly has put me on his list to bring back real northern pasties. Perhaps their food tastes good, but attitude is everything. As an successful business man told me forty years ago, «Son its not that were that good it’s just that our competition is so dam bad». That’s been true to this day.
