I’ll write a review even though I hear Nonna’s is now closed — sad day. We decided we had to check it out before it closed and got in right before New Year’s Eve for lunch. I had the chicken enchiladas and my boyfriend had Nonna’s favorite — spaghetti and a big meatball topped with marinara and Alfredo sauce. The enchiladas were so good. Good enchiladas that aren’t from a Mexican restaurant are always the greatest surprise to me. They were super cheesy and creamy and delicious. My boyfriend liked the spaghetti too. He said the meatball was a bit dry, but the pasta and sauce were good. Nonna’s is famous for its baked goodies and desserts, so even though we were full, I had to get something. I took a few bites of banana cream pie and took the rest home. It was great too. Flaky crust, creamy custard inside and the cutest presentation, pretty much a miniature whole pie. I’ve heard Nonna is just limiting what she does — hopefully Nonna’s will still cater, do events around town, or somehow keep the namesake in OKC. It’s been in Bricktown forever and I hate to see it go!

We were looking for a place to have our anniversary dinner and we are glad we chose to dine here. The service was great and the food was perfect! It’s now on our list to visit anytime we are in the area!

Nonna’s is a fine place to eat but doesn’t deserve the five star hype. The service was mediocre and the menu is really dated. This is an average fine dining place that will likely not disappoint but is just average at best.

Nonna’s really let me down. It wasn’t my first time to eat there, but it may be my last. I’m very hesitant to post a negative review, but I was really let down by a restaurant that is considered one of the best in OKC. I was traveling with a colleague and suggested this as a great restaurant. My previous visits to Nona’s didn’t disappoint. It’s a somewhat pricy dinner justified with high quality ingredients, prepared to perfection, surrounded by impeccable ambiance. It was later in the evening so I made sure to call ahead to see if they were open – Bricktown can be dead during the week, so I wanted to make sure they weren’t closing early. They said the kitchen closed in about an hour, so we had plenty of time. First of all, they didn’t have Miller Lite, my drink of choice. That really irks me that the trend of nicer restaurants is to abandon the domestics and carry only the craft beers. Not only did they not have the Miller family, but the Budweiser and Coors families were also not represented. No domestics were available, so I chose the closest alternative. And with that admission of my preference to domestic beer, you all are probably picturing someone by the name of «Scooter» wearing a confederate Tank top sporting a super cool mullet. While I assure you this is far from the truth, I hope you take my word for it and don’t discount the rest of this review. I started with a fantastic tomato bisque while I waited on my filet. My medium rare filet arrived looking like some sort of scorched meteorite. Way too overdone! I rarely ever send a steak back, but it was so well done, I had no choice. My friendly waitress was very understanding and apologetic and took my steak back for another one. Someone else(the manager, I presume), came out and offered his apology too and presented me with«a little something complimentary» while I waited. He set in front of me… another tomato bisque! I just had one; I don’t need another one! The gesture was appreciated, I guess. While I was waiting for my new steak, my waitress came back to ask if I needed another beer. She proceeded to say, «we’ve decided to close down the bar early, so if you think you might want more, you better order them now». It was an hour before they were to close! I want to enjoy adult beverages while I eat, and I hadn’t even received my entrée yet! If I wanted an overcooked steak with no alcohol, I could have gone to the local Golden Corral! I chose my only option and order 2 extra beers to sit on my table to get warm until I needed them. After my colleague had been finished her entrée for quite some time, my filet finally arrived. With somewhat lower expectations now, I cut in to my steak only to find it completely well done once again. I have to admit it wasn’t to the famed scorched meteorite status as before, but it wasn’t far off. Any resemblance of pink had been cooked out quite some time ago. My waitress again offered her apologies and suggested we send it back one more time. I told her that because it was getting late and my colleague had already finished her entrée; I would just eat it. I begrudgingly ate a few pieces of charred cow to quiet my stomach, but it was not up to the caliber that Nona’s is known for. Any one of these comedy of errors alone wouldn’t warrant a negative review, but all these together made for one disappointed evening. The only expectation that was met, was the rather pricy tab at the end of the meal.

Outside at Nonna’s was perfect! It was my husband’s birthday and he wanted to go to Nonna’s. No problem! We ate outside up on the deck. The night was warm and it was so much fun to see the horse carriages go by! Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable not only about the drinks and menu but about Nonna’s «story»! I appreciate that. We shared the mozzarella sticks which are by far the best I’ve ever had! I had the beet and strawberry salad with salmon. The greens were fresh, balsamic dressing delicious and the salmon was cooked to perfection! Moist and very flavorful. My husband had the cobb salad and was very happy! The portions were HUGE! We had dinner from Nonna’s the next night! Because it was his birthday, we brought home a complimentary little carrot cake. That was so thoughtful and really good too!

Had reservations for 7pm, arrived early but even though we ordered PRE made food, prime rib and chicken pot pie, it took longer than 90 minutes to receive our food and when the food was delivered, both plates were Luke warm at best. Our waiter was very pleasant and professional, I believe the kitchen was the reason for our slow service. A table that was seated 30 minutes after we were, were actually served before us! Sent chicken pot pie back and had it warmed up, food was good but at the two hour mark we are starving and fed up. Could not get any reservations at any other fine dining spots on Bricktown except at this restaurant and the terribly slow kitchen and cold food might be the cause. The waiter said other cold meals had occurred.

Great ambiance and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Nonna’s Favorite. It is a delicious spaghetti and meatball dish that is somehow the best I have ever had.

Our meal and service was really good, until the end… . Even being taken to our table we were pleased with the hosts professional and friendly way. Our server Sarah was funny and made our initial experience enjoyable. We ordered mushroom appetiser which was better than imagined(marinara, goats cheese and spinach filled!). We all ordered spaghetti & meatballs which was big, tasty and had a delicious cheese on top. Service continued to be upbeat, until after paying and saying goodbye to our server we waited in the upstairs lobby for a friend. A man in a grey suit/glasses(presumably the owner) was«huffing» around us, muttering and grumpy with bad vibes that instantly changed our feeling. He was frantically polishing a table next to us — but all the while sighing etc. We heard him loudly reprimanding our server for not cleaning up quick enough(but she’d been seeing us out which was great). His vibe was less than hospitable and was a bad taste to end an otherwise amazing evening. I hope he reads these and sees this feedback — to be more customer focused, allow his staff to execute their hospitality skills in the way they are good at, and provide his staff feedback in a more constructive manner(rather than yell at them in front of customers). Thank you Sarah and the host staff(and the chefs!) for your part in making our night great

This place is terrible. We had a reservation for 10 people for a birthday party at 8pm. We did not order our food until 8:50, and this was only because I flagged our waiter down. Someone in my party ordered the butternut squash ravioli to be told it wasn’t available anymore. I ordered the pot roast and was told they were sold out about 10 mins later. I ended just getting a bowl of tomato bisque and a side of lobster mac and cheese. The tomato bisque was okay, but was so sweet it tasted like they poured sugar in it. My husband’s chicken salad was the same. The lobster mac was the opposite. It literally tasted like boiled noodles. Quite literally the worst macaroni and cheese I’ve ever had. A place that charges so much and prides itself on fine dining should do much, much better. I’ve paid less than half for a meal and gotten food that was ten times the quality.

Been here twice before, and the food and desserts are beyond disappointing and underwhelming. Nonna’s, I bake a lot and will gladly assume the job of pastry chef if you offer. Enjoyed a drink outside under the lights with a friend tonight. The live acoustic guitarist was amazing, and the wait staff was impeccable with great service and manners. Those are probably the only redeeming qualities, aside from the nice towels in the bathroom. The drinks were not good. I ordered a Beefeater and soda, and my Amiga got a sangria. Now, I used to bartend, so I know every trick of the trade. Drinks for bar guests are often poured stronger than tables, and i can’t even taste the gin in mine. Sangria had one grape and an orange slice in it. Normally these things have an orchard in them. Refreshing but mediocre at finest. Not what we expected for the price tag. Off to Mickey Mantle’s to get a real drink.

I think nonna’s has the potential to be a really awesome place, but it tries to too much of everything to be really good at anything. their menu boasts euro-American fare, but has everything from classic American to tacos. there is an apparent lack of consistency, as the vibe and décor downstairs is much classier, darker, and formal, while their upstairs bar is completely casual(there is a couch and large tv screen…). the food overall is decent, but trends towards the salty side. the specialty cocktails are a bit too sweet but they do have a pretty good wine selection. the service overall was good, but our particular waitress was terrible. they have live music at night which is fun, but there are limited seats, so get there early. glad I went and tried it out, but not sure i’ll be back — it’s pretty pricey and i would rather spend my money elsewhere.

We had reservations for 5 pm Saturday night before the Oklahoma City marathon. We were seated bout 5:05 and were the first in the dining area. The service was very friendly and attentive. Calamari was our appetizer and although it was not how it is usually prepared it was very good. Our party of three ordered steak and two pasta dishes. All were very pleased with the food. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Make reservations if going for dinner. The balcony fills up fast. Staying at hotel a block away and walked here for dinner. Got there about 7:30. Not full, but plenty of people on the 1st floor — balcony was packed. Seated quickly, waitress took drink orders within 2 – 3 minutes of being seated and got them out in about5 minutes. They were generous with the amuse bouche. Has fried green tomatoes with kimche, fried mozzarella with marinara, and basil polenta. Main dishes came out in a reasonable time — well plated and large portions. Good flavors and paired well. Prices are a little high for the type of food and atmosphere, but I’d definitely go back.

Over all it was a very nice place, the service was good, and the food not spectacular but good. They served the ketchup and Tabasco in their own little personal bottles, loved that. The inside was very much like a parlor from some froufrou issue of Southern Living or Guns and Garden magazines(not my taste). I felt however the overall effect did not warrant the expense. I had a burger which was good but not great, the onion rings were fresh but the fries I was told were frozen. So if your feeling quite tony with yourself pony on over, but I personally am not that, and you won’t see me here again. Not that it was bad just not something I personally like.

GREATODIN’S RAVEN! This place is phenomenal. Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic selection of wines. It’s one of the première places to wine and dine in Oklahoma City, in my opinion. The Missus and I had reservations at 7:30 on Valentine’s night and were promptly seated at our table at 7:30 on the dot. Our waitress was an absolute peach. She was polite and very attentive to our needs. The atmosphere is very cozy and the décor is top notch… just a really pretty place to sit in. I decided to order the Roman chicken and was thoroughly impressed with it. It was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. I can honestly say that it was the best chicken I’ve ever had. I decided to pair my chicken with some wine and was pleasantly surprised to find that Nonna’s has an extensive collection of both affordable and exspensive wines. Make no mistake, Nonna’s is expensive. But, you should already know that if you’re considering a date there. However, your money feels well placed at Nonna’s, thanks to their excellent service and delicious food.

A quaint little restaurant in Bricktown where you can try Euro-American food. You can eat in either the top floor where it is casual and has a balcony or you can eat on the first floor where it’s a bit more fancy. The casual area known as the Purple Bar and Lounge has a giant tv to watch some college football too. There have been a lot of reviews mentioning the MANGOCRABSTACK($ 14)which is an appetizer that tastes like a really good chicken salad but healthier. It has avocado, mango, and little chunks of mango. I recommend the chicken pot pie. They cleverly take the top part of the pie and cut it out into the shape of a chicken. It’s a rather large pie so you could feed two. However, if you feed two with one, you won’t be full so get an appetizer to share also. The pot pie is heavily more chicken and not as much of the other goodies inside like veggies. But still worth trying!

On the recommendation of a couple of friends, my husband and I ate at Nonna’s this past Saturday night. We are not locals; in fact, we live 3.5 hours away. We were only in town for a couple of nights, so we wanted to make sure our main restaurant choice was a true winner. Happy to say: ITWAS. First of all, let me say how stunningly gorgeous Nonna’s is inside. Elegant, classy, and all words in between. I knew immediately we were in the right place for dinner. Also, service was great. Our waiter was very attentive, but not overly so. He definitely had the balance down pat. Upon reading some of the other Unilocal reviews, we both decided to split the Mango Crab Stack appetizer. This was divine! Layered with avocado and served with crispy ciabatta. Definitely a winner. And since it was our first time to dine here, our server brought us two mozzarella sticks with marinara — compliments of the chef. They were very substantial, hefty little things but super light on the breading and chock-full of oozy mozzarella. The marinara had a nice sweet touch which was perfect. I wanted to be gracious and eat the whole thing, but I just couldn’t do it. Very filling indeed. For dinner, I ordered the Salmon with Quinoa. I will say that I’ve had better salmon. This was a nice, hearty portion but it was slightly overdone and there wasn’t a whole lot of seasoning on it. But it did come with a very flavorful jalapeño pineapple couli so that helped it along. The quinoa was mixed with an almond pesto which I liked a lot. If you eat all components together, it tasted excellent. My husband ordered the Roman Chicken which was served with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes and Kalamata olives in a caperberry white wine butter sauce. That’s a mouthful! Needless to say, he loved it. Dessert was insane. I got the strawberry shortcake and hubby got Avis’ chocolate cake. While the chocolate cake was decadent, rich and sinful, my strawberry shortcake was out of this world. It’s HUGE(definitely can serve two, if not more) and so extremely good. One of the best strawberry shortcakes of my life, if not THE best. I really liked Nonna’s. Even with the salmon misstep, I would most definitely come back and try more things on the menu. Who knows when I’ll make my way back to OKC again, but when I do, Nonna’s will be at the top of the to-do list. Brava!

Enjoyed lunch at Nonna’s on my last day in OKC, based on a recommendation from a local. I’m very glad I did! What a great farm-to-table type restaurant in an area overrun with chains and poor quality knockoffs. Everything from the delicious fried mozzarella appetizer, which was complimentary when our server realized it was our first visit, to the salads, quiche, chicken enchilada, salmon croquettes, to the service was as good as you’ll find anywhere, and much better than anywhere else in this area!

The Mango Crab Stack was a good way to start the night… Fried Calamaris were OK… If you are a seafood fan, this is one of the places: The best sea bass in OKC: Sesame Encrusted Chilean Sea Bass: very distinctive flavor from the mix of white and black sesame, sweet chili sauce and pickle vegie on top, fine texture of sea bass… yum! I am still craving and dreaming about their sea bass… But it was for dinner special only… I think I will come back only if they offer the sea bass… Their Ancho Peanut Dusted Scallops was pretty good… and their Ribbon Wrapped Salmon was tasteful… If you are a steak fan, don’t eat their steak… it was just ok! Good selection of wine… Fantastic service! Amazing and very reasonable price dessert… crème brûlée is a die for…
