This place has some of the best steaks in Oklahoma City. The pre fix menu is so reasonably priced you get app, entrée, and dessert for the price of a filet at most nice steakhouses. They have great craft cocktails as well. Don’t like the ambiance in the restaurant that much it’s too modern and the red lights hanging everywhere is pretty tacky for a high end restaurant in my opinion. But I go to restaurants for the good so I am giving this place a 5 star because of food !! Get the coffee crust on the steak it’s the best! Try the tamales app it’s awesome !! The brownie dessert is to die for !! My wife’s favorite restaurant !!

Best steak I’ve had in a long time. Texture with med rare was perfect. Mushroom crust, and like any good steak, no sauce was needed.(But, the house made worsh and red are goooood). 4 stars rating for the sides(super salty) and tomato app wasn’t clear in the description. Will definitely suggest when the occasion strikes!

If this were solely a happy hour review(as well it could and maybe should be, considering how frequently I find myself at Red Prime for happy hour drinks and gabs), I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how addictive the complimentary house-cut potato chips with chipotle mayo are. Fortunately, the bartenders *get* this(maybe moreso if you’re swooning over one of their tasty Aviation cocktails), so you shouldn’t have much of a problem getting that basket filled up for seconds or thirds … or fourths.(Insert bemused, only *mildly* ashamed emoji here.) But if you are there just for happy hour, don’t stop at the complimentary chips; try RP’s Tomatoes, a decadent twist on the classic caprese salad. The mozzarella is swell enough, until RP throws in some fried green tomatoes, pickled red onions, and reduced balsamic vinegar. You can also order from the regular menu. I recommend the beef carpaccio, which is nearly sublime when you smear some Longhorn cheddar fondue on top and add capers and onions to your fork for the full bite. Then get a(large) side of seared bacon sherry Brussels sprouts to share with all your friends at the bar top. Because there WILL be friends at the bar top, either those you come with or meet serendipitously. They may be old friends or new friends. Though spreading out is easily achieved at the bar, I’m always surprised by those whom I chance to meet at the bar– this last Friday,(no doubt because it was a Thunder home game night), my brother and I found ourselves sandwiched between a girlfriend and a colleague, and had a couple of conversations with others at the bar top. We returned after the game to find some more familiar faces and continued our bottomless«happy hour». About home Thunder games: RP provides complimentary limo service. It’s such an easy way to get to the game! However, considering how close RP is to the Chesapeake Energy Arena, walking off your meal is especially pleasant on a mild night, and it’ll warm up your legs for the energy in the arena. Sometime I’ll venture into the dining room. For now, I’m super happy with the service at the bar. See you there? I’ll share my chips, pinky swear.

Extremely disappointed across the board. That being said… The atmosphere is everything you would expect in automobile ally. We waited over 30 minutes and this was with a reservation! Our dinner took about an hour and a half to be tabled. The steak was comparable with Texas Road House. Not exactly a $ 60 piece of meat. The wait staff was non-existent… There are too many quality establishments in the area for this level of performance.

I loved this place, and I really didn’t expect to love it. I thought the red lighting might be a bit of a schtick, but it’s actually really warm and wonderful. The interior is industrial and looks like it might amplify noise, but my friend and I didn’t have any problems hearing each other. Though the space is very open, I still felt like we had privacy at our table, and overall the ambience was really wonderful. We started at the bar, where the service was good, as was my Manhattan, and then moved to the the dining room. Our wait person was a nice balance of knowledge and friendliness, but not too friendly, and not at all pretentious. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, baked brie, and a white wine. I know almost nothing about wine, and I don’t know which one we ordered. Everything was good, but the brie was wonderful. The hot rolls are very good as well. I ordered a rare 7 oz filet with a sea salt/brown sugar crust and horseradish sauce, and it was wonderful. We also had the asparagus, green chile mac & cheese, and the mushrooms. Don’t order that much food — we left a lot behind. Everything was very good. We had a cabernet with dinner, and again, I have no idea which one, but I certainly drank it. Dessert was crème brûlée, which was solid, and coffee. We watched several tables come and go while we were seated, and I never felt pressured or rushed to leave. It was very much an experience, one which I will hopefully enjoy again soon.

This place is very fru-fruy. Good steak should taste good on its own, not basted in random sauces/marinades. Which is Red’s deal. Every steak basically has to be made with a special marinade. My steak was totally over cooked and came out pre cut, which was weird. Service was also odd, our waiter acted like he was some super cook and made millions. Dude your just a waiter, get over yourself. I hated the atmosphere also, we were placed in some enclosed circle booth. Made it very uncomfortable and couldn’t hear each other talking.

What a steakhouse! First off, the vibe is very New York… the whole place has a red glow. I had the sirloin with a sea salt and brown sugar crust and the steak just sorta melted in my mouth. I’m not sure what a perfect steak tastes like but what they served me has gotta be pretty close to perfection. Service here is impeccable, as you might expect at a top notch steak place. This place is not inexpensive but you get what you pay for here… a true dining experience.

Wow, serious props to these guys for selling an experience and not just food. You win, Red Prime. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion. We were celebrating one and had left a note on our reservation. Upon arrival, we were greeted with congratulations by the host, server, AND manager at different points throughout the night! These guys know what’s up. 5-star service was brought to us by a guy named Spencer, who started us out with a glass of champagne. Plenty of appreciation and warm gratitude from the staff for dining here, which was so classy and friendly. The service is what pushes these guys from a 4 to a 5. This place is actually huge. The only thing I don’t like about the space is how the tables aren’t exactly private or romantic-like; they do have some plush lookin’ booths that look like bottles need to be popped, so I would call about scoring one of those if you are trying to set a bow-chicka-bow-wow type of mood. We did the prix fixe(app, entrée, and dessert) for $ 45.(By the way, the 7 oz filet is a win for value; the idea of spending $ 45 on a sirloin or fried chicken is an atrocity to me, but hey– whatever floats your boat.) What we had: — 7 oz filet — 5⁄5 Fantastic sear and cooked to a PERFECT medium rare. Seasoned well and totally killin’ it like The Emperor’s New Clothes– impressive naked OR dressed up with a sauce. It’s a little salty, so cut your bites strategically. — French onion soup– 4⁄5 Excellent in flavor, but too salty. — Chop house salad– 3.5÷5 A mild, nice way to warm up for mains. I think they could incorporate more acid into their dressing though to cut the sweetness. — Green chile mac– 5⁄5 Perhaps the best mac and cheese in OKC. Not overwhelming but a perfect balance of molten cheese sauce and gooey melted cheese. Not a lot of green chile, but enough for the flavor to be there. Well done, guys. — Asparagus– 3.5÷5 Fresh and served with cheese, which was a little too much funk for me. — Chocolate spoon cake– 4⁄5 Whoaaa. I’m a chocolate lover, and even I could walk outta this place feeling punch drunk if I ate the whole thing. Talk about happy endings. :D A filling portion chocked with pecans and topped with vanilla ice cream. A large serving of sauce on the side, which seems a little strange for presentation. — Tea wins cool points with me. They serve it in a pot here so that you can keep topping off without constantly needing a refill. — Dranks are lovely. Duh. Tips: Don’t forget to Keep It Local for 10% off! I love how A Good Egg is on board with KIL. Happy Hour runs until 7PM and has some tasty lookin’ $ 4 bites on there. This place is definitely a win when trying to score points with someone… or perfect also if you just need to treat yo’self.

This is probably a 4.5 star review, but not quite 5. Several buddies and I ate at Red Primesteak on a Friday. Our reservation was at 8:30, but we weren’t seated until around 8:45. I have no idea why, the restaurant was only half full, but it took us some time to get seated. It wasn’t all bad, they’ve got a bar, so we did what you do at bars while we waited for our table. The restaurants is sleek, minimalist, and dark. Our server approached us immediately and she was fantastic. Our first order of business: I had heard that Red Primesteak made a martini with prosciutto-wrapped feta-stuff olives. She went and checked and found out, no, they did not have such a drink. BUT, the bartender would be happy to craft something for us. So, we asked for a pig/cheese involved martini. We were given a martini garnished with an olive stuffed with bacon and blue cheese. We liked these so much we ordered more olives for the table. It may not be on the menu, but it’s now my favorite drink at Red. To start, we told our server we wanted to try the tamales, shrimp cocktail, and carpaccio. She said she would have the kitchen put us together a plate, which was very helpful. Each of us ended up with one tamale and 2 shrimp. We shared a plate of carpaccio. I like when places prepare things off-menu for their guests, and Red was certainly willing to do that. The tamales were solid, but not great. I would have liked more heat from the sauce, but I understand you can’t burn everyone’s mouths. The shrimp were cooked very well, and the smoked jalapeño cocktail sauce was above average. I’d order these again. The carpaccio was seasoned well and served with sourdough toast. During our appetizers, the rolls came out. Hot, buttery, yeasty rolls with a slightly crunchy top and just a hint of sweetness. These things are fantastic, as many Unilocalers(rightfully) note. Some of the best rolls I’ve had in a long time. Onto the reason you come to Red: steak. With a name like«Red Primesteak» you would assume that every steak Red offers would be prime grade. This is what our entire table assumed. We were incorrect in this assumption. The only steaks Red offers that are prime graded meat are labeled«prime» on the menu. They are a cowboy ribeye(my selection), a strip, and a sirloin. The«40 day» dry aged steaks are NOT prime. So, no prime filet on the menu, which was a bummer for those in my group that are filet eaters. My steak was very good, I had it topped with foie gras, which is never a bad decision. It had a slight crust, but I would have preferred a more crispy exterior. It was well marbled and cooked to a proper medium rare. It was most definitely prime level meat. When I return, this will be my steak. The foie gras was seared and velveety and added an extra level of richness to the steak. I did NOT get a «crust» on my steak. You have your choice of several, but I like steak for steak, so I just got salt and pepper. I did get some black truffle butter on the side, which is as rich and crazy good as the name suggests. Worth the $ 5 upcharge. Next time maybe I’ll try a chile or cheese crust, but I tend to just like red meat with salt and pepper to be my primary focus. The table shared a few sides: green chile mac n cheese(2 orders), bacon sherry brussels sprouts, and black truffle risotto with marrow butter. All of the sides were ridiculous. The mac n cheese is well known at Red, and for good reason. It’s just the right amount of sauce to pasta with the flavor of the green chile being present but not dominant. The risotto, however, was my favorite. It was smooth and decadent, with the richness of the truffle taking the dish over the top. It was a fantastic risotto, on par with what you could get at a very good Italian joint. Absolute re-order. The brussels sprouts would probably be a favorite at most meals, but at this meal they came in third. That’s not to suggest I didn’t like them. I did. Very much. That’s just how good the mac n cheese and risotto were. The wine list is solid, but certainly not expansive. Service was phenomenal the entire evening, and we were a demanding group. Our server was not only prompt and willing to comply with off the menu requests, but she had a great attitude and was fun. Fantastic dinner, I’ll absolutely be back.

3 stars = «a-Ok.» Yep, that’s about right. Everything was just ok. To be fair, I would say a solid 3.5 is deserved, but I cant bring myself to give a 4. I have been here a couple of times now and every time I walk out… content. Now content is not a bad thing, nor is it an amazing compliment. It just is what it is, A-Ok. That said, at this price point, in this city, there are better places for me to spend big $$$ on a steak. Nothing personal, Red, youre just not for me. I think my favorite thing about this place is the unique décor and modern look. This town really does lack a modern and/or urban vibe, so seeing an establishment attempt and succeed is refreshing. Unfortunately, it does not do enough to overcome the mediocrity of the food, in my humble opinion. All the times I have been here, I have found the steak to lack flavor. It was a fine cut of meat, but it was just that, fine. One time my steak was slightly over cooked(medium instead of medium rare), most recently is was rare instead of medium rare. Again, at this price point, I expect cooked to temperature every time. I personally find the rubs and all that a little gimmick-ey, but that’s just me. Im a salt and pepper guy, what can I say? I find the sides to also be just mediocre, in that, I have actually found them forgettable. Except the sprouts. I will give a shout out for the sprouts… They were delicious! But youre not getting a 4 out of me for some sprouts, no matter how good they were. Sorry. I’ll sum up with this… if you are from out of town and looking for 1 shot at OKC steakhouse, I would probably go elsewhere. However, if you live here and want to try something new, I would say it is definitely worth checking out, especially if a trendy setting is important to you. There isn’t really anything that Red did wrong, per se, it just wasn’t anything special to me and my tastes.

I have to say I was impressed with this place. They offer a large variety of crust and sauce is that allow you to customize a steak which is not common for most steakhouses. I opted for the mushroom encrusted truffle butter top fillet. It was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. And of course I pair that with the truffle risotto that was out of this world. The décor was very nice and trendy and the drinks were reasonably priced every person our table absolutely love the mail and if you’re trying to go for a value the beef stroganoff is well priced and could feed at least two people.

I got the cowboy ribeye. I shared the asparagus, mashed potato, and cream corn with the table. The service at this place was outstanding. Our server got a little flustered with some of the terms, but she knew what she was talking about and stood by her recommendations even though my dinner guest was being difficult. The cowboy ribeye was out of this world good. The gristle and fat were the absolute best part. The sides were ok. I really enjoyed the asparagus, but the other two were just blah. They tried to overpower both with bacon. I love bacon, but not on everything. This isn’t my longest review, but I would definitely go back. Good job crew!

I loved everything about Red Prime! My boyfriend and I came for a date night and neither of us had been before. The ambience is unlike anywhere else in OKC, to my knowledge. We went on a Friday night with reservations at 7 pm. We had to wait about ten minutes before our table was ready but the meal and service more than made up for that. Starting with the rolls, I was already impressed. Those were the best rolls I’ve had in a long time. I also had the French onion soup which was great. For my entrée, I ordered the porterhouse pork chop with green chile mac and cheese and loved it! The pork chop had a cranberry glaze on top so it was perfect for this time of year. My boyfriend had the filet with brown sugar and sea salt crust and the brandy mushroom sauce. It was the most perfect flavor. I’d love to try more combinations of their crusts and sauces! He also had the chop house salad and it was very unique and delicious. Each bite was bursting with all of the different ingredients including cous cous, roasted corn and the irrestible buttermilk pesto dressing. We had the sorbet for dessert, which I thought I was too full for, but couldn’t resist trying the three different flavors. I highly recommend coming here for a special occasion and a unique steakhouse experience. I can’t wait to come back!

Unfortunately did not have a good experience here! :(I came a while back and after last night’s experience I realize why it’s been years since my 2nd visit. I am pretty disappointed because the restaurant is cute and the bar seems like a fun place to have a happy hour and mingle. But having to wait for a little over 30 minutes for a 9pm reservation which we made late in the afternoon, was my first turn off. I came hungry and ready to sit, not linger in the crowded bar with my party. I did the Pre Fixe menu, seemed like a good deal since I basically just wanted a salad and steak. I chose the chopped salad, and a 7 oz filet. I changed the salad dressing for a vinaigrette because I hate creamy things. Well needless to say, both dressings were not fantastic(I tried the other from a friends plate). And it was pretty heavy on the dressing. For a vinaigrette the dressing was pretty sweet, I wanted a refreshing salad, not a dessert! My filet was medium with garlic crust and mushroom sauce on the side. The mushroom sauce was pretty buttery, just too rich for me again. The garlic crust was very delicious, and my steak was yummy! The sides though, agh again the ones that were flavorful were way too rich, while the«lighter» veggies were so soaked in oil that i could only enjoy a couple bites. I would recommend the flash fried spinach if you don’t mind a lot of oil, and the risotto if you are looking for a really rich and creamy side, the mac and cheese had absolutely no flavor at all. Unfortunate. The green beans were my favorite not because they are the best I’ve ever had but because they weren’t rich and not too oily yet had flavor. :) Oh the rolls are yummy too, we got ours like hot out of the oven. And I love breads with crushed salt on top, yummy One thing I liked about the pre fixe menu was they were pretty chill about subs although it says no substitutions. I don’t really care for dessert so I ended up getting two sides for no additional charge. I appreciate that a lot. Anyways, my boyfriend and I decided we probably won’t be back on our own decision!

I feel that my vocabulary isn’t expanded enough to properly describe how great RPS really is, but I’ll give it the ol’ college try. First, if you’re trying to have a nice date on the cheap, look elsewhere. The price of RPS didn’t bother me in the least, as I was willing to drop some of my hard earned Ben Franklin’s on a great meal.(Actually, just one Ben Frank and a coupla Jackson’s.) The atmosphere is unlike anything I’ve experienced in the Oh Kay See. Honestly, I felt like I was in another city. Although it was busy the night the Missus and I decided to have dinner, I never felt crowded, and it was never so loud that I could hear other people’s conversations. The red lighting and slick, modern look were… for lack of a better description… so damn cool. As for the food, I settled on the $ 45 special that allows you to choose 1 starter, 1 entrée with 1 side, and 1 dessert. I ordered the chop house salad, a 7oz filet mignon(medium rare) with a side of seared green beans and decided to skip the dessert. The chop house salad was the 2nd best salad I’ve ever had.(Anyone remember Matthew Kenny?) The buttermilk dressing was fantastic. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was, hands down, the best filet mignon I’ve ever had. The green beans were seasoned perfectly and had a nice crunch. Honestly, the dinner was damn near perfect. The service was fantastic. Our server was helpful without being too involved. He was very knowledgeable with regards to the menu, especially the steak crusts and sauces. Also, the drinks at RPS are no joke. They might be a little pricey, but you’re paying for a certain quality that is lacking at other finer restaurants in OKC. A cocktail is a definite must have at RPS. The Missus and I will be back!

Been back twice very recently The first time back everything was absolutely perfect. This past Saturday when I went out on a date we had reservations for 9PM and requested a booth via OpenTable. The host seated us immediately when we came, and our waiter who was perfect acknowledged us very well throughout our entire time dining in. Both me and my man ordered from their pre fix menu for 45 dollars each. We both got the 7oz filet and I had the chopped salad, green chili mac, and warm chocolate spoon cake for my options. Both our steaks were overcooked to medium when we ordered medium rare, but my jalapeño bearnaise sauce helped keep it moist and taste good. We didn’t send our steaks back, but I wish I did, because it would have been amazing if our steaks were cooked the way we asked for them to be cooked. Also, everything else for both me and my honey were fine if not great, but I did want to mention my spinach or salad greens in the chopped salad I ordered were wilted and not crisp and fresh. We also got crab cakes which came in a set of three, they tasted amazing, and the bread with our entrée were just buttered dinner rolls. I really LOVERP! I think it’s one of the best restaurants in Oklahoma City especially for special occasions or just to have a nice time with someone you love, but wish the food was more consistent.
