I give up… I will never go to this Sonic again. The last 2 times I have been here they have given me onion rings that were so burnt that they were inedible. It has been awhile since I’ve been here, so today when I was at work and my Ramen noodles not sounding so tasty, I thought I’d give them another try. So I started my trek down Meridian Ave, which happens to be under construction, so the normal 5 minute drive took almost 15. I finally reach Sonic, my mouth watering for a jr. double cheeseburger and onion rings. I use the drive thru, place my order and request that they check the onion rings to ensure they were not burnt. I paid for my order, glancing in at the onion rings, they indeed were not burnt. I was delighted and drove on back to work. When I got back to work, I got in the bag and realized they gave me a jr burger instead of a jr double cheeseburger. I could of lived with it(even though that’s not what I ordered) except that’s all it was… a jr burger… no cheese, no ketchup, no mustard, no pickles. Just meat and bread! Are you kidding me? Farewell Sonic by the airport, I will never spend money with you again.

I have been to many a Sonic Drive-in, in many different states and usually the service and food quality are pretty consistent and is something that my family and I look forward to when we travel. This particular location is not only the worst Sonic but one of the worst fast food experiences I have had in recent memory. 6:15 on a Wednesday. Ordered from the patio, a #1 with no mayo, a #2 with no mayo, and a plain hot dog. Two root beers and a coconut. Had to repeat the order four times and couldn’t understand when it was read back to me. After 15 minutes we still hadn’t received our order. We were able to witness two employees, changes wet garbage, drag it across the patio, and then return to the kitchen. Burgers were cold, buns were stall, and only the hot dog and tots were warm. Against better judgement, I ordered ice cream. Again, placed the order several times(Malted Brownie Blast and a Peanut Butter & Cookie Dough Blast) and we waited. As we waited another customer had ordered a Hot Fudge Shake a few minutes before us. She also, waited and waited and then asked what the delay was for. After more waiting, she left. Our ice cream order finally came, no napkins and sure enough was not what I had ordered. We got a peanut butter shake and a chocolate malt. I told the kid that the order was wrong and he didn’t do anything but shrug. I believe that this place would be out of business were it not so close to the airport. So disappointed in the whole experience.

I visit this location often because I stay in a hotel close by but I am done. I have given this Sonic too many chances. The staff is friendly, but the food is terrible. They manage to mess up most of my orders. Usually it’s the onions. I don’t eat them and the Sonic cooks insist on me trying them on everything. I have ordered a variety of menu items. Chicken strips overcooked, burgers cold and made wrong(usually missing the cheese or added onions), breakfast burritos with wrong ingredients and weak & stale tortillas, cold tater tots, old fries. The list goes on and on. Don’t waste your time with this place if you want something quality to eat!

Not a fan of Sonic… I only go for the slushies. Stopped by this morning to grab one as they’re only $.99 for a large before 10am. I ordered a large cranberry and a large lemon berry. The total was $ 2.69. I get to the window and ask why so much and I’m told ‘It’s an additional $.20 for the flavor. ‘. I didn’t get any additional flavors, I got 2 standard flavors. So, what’s a regular flavor? A cup of slushy ice! NOONEEVERORDERSTHAT!!! So a large slushy before 10am is really $ 1.29 and not $.99. What’s more annoying is that the rules are different at each Sonic. I’ve NEVER been charged extra for a standard slushy flavor that’s already on the menu, and for that, they will never get my business there ever again.

I go here a few times a month as I stay nearby. Service is usually pretty friendly though if you get anything other than a single burger if it’s not burger night orders get ridiculously expensive quick. Two hot dogs with tots or a larger burger and drink shouldn’t be nearly 8 – 9 bucks. Chicken sandwiches are always mediocre and much more expensive. My stops are now limited to either a one off hotdog run or after 5 on burger nites. The biggest plus they have are drinks, cheap and huge slushes around

Well… We’re traveling through Oklahoma on our cross country venture to Atlanta. My daughter wanted a grilled cheese sandwich from Sonic’s, so I thought that I might as well have a Strawberry Milkshake… SMH, as I am consuming said Milkshake… There is something in my mouth that doesn’t feel like it is EITHER Ice Cream or STRAWBERRY! So I IMMEDIATELY stop chewing… smh, I am about to vomit thinking about, I don’t know what I was eating… JESUS…but OMG, it was brown. In my mind, I am praying and comforting myself say that is was an old strawberry stem… but…I am not even buying it… NEVERAGAIN, I am simultaneously writing corporate… SOUPSET, I am fighting curse words. I have stayed in Oklahoma City several times and this is shaping up to be my worst and last visit.

We don’t have Sonic where I live so this was one of the must go to places when I came to town. I really loved the mini banana splits they used to have as they were perfect dessert sizes. Alas, they no longer carry them so I had to force myself to take on a full size one. Twist my arm. Luckily, I was up to the challenge and enjoyed my little indulgence.

Review a Drive-Thru/Drive-In? Sure — Why not? You can stop in one of the angled slots that line both sides of the restaurant, order from the car height board and get your food delivered by a car-hop on roller skates, or simply drive through, as I did. I hit this place on ½ price Sonic Burger night(Tuesday and Thursdays — at selected Sonics), so one of those had to be on my list. I sat for almost five minutes waiting to order, even though there was only one car in front of me at the drive-thru window. The voice on the speaker apologized for my wait when he finally did get to me, and thankfully, the audio quality of the speaker was great(nothing worse than that«wetbaum to scujhgic, mafle biggins your udder» when they speak to you). I ordered the aforementioned Sonic Burger, a Chicago dog, a medium order of onion rings and a medium order of «Tots». I then pulled up to the window. After three or four minutes, the window slid open and I paid for my food. Several minutes later, I was asked if I wanted any condiments, asked for ketchup, and got my food. According to the time stamp on the receipt when I placed my order, it took seven minutes and forty-five seconds total to receive my(simple) order. An extraordinarily long time considering that it was only slightly busy, and I was only the only one in line. Almost thirteen minutes from the time I pulled up to the ordering board until I pulled out with my food. At least the staff was friendly and apologized again for the wait. Four minutes later and the food was unwrapped. The sonic burger was very good, with fresh onion, lettuce and tomato, and a wonderfully soft bun. The meat was well seasoned, but cooked completely through, as is expected for a burger of this type. The Chicago Dog, with mustard, green pickle relish, tomato, sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt, was excellent. The wiener itself had a nice casing and a great«snap» to it. All of this was piled on top of a soft poppy seed bun. Just about the best«fast food» dog I have ever had, and that’s including Nathan’s. The tater tots were hot, but a little undercooked for my taste, as I like them with a bit of a crunch on the outside. These were cooked through, but soft. The onion rings were cooked well enough, but this is something about them that I find to be unique. There is a certain sweetness to them, somewhat reminiscent of cotton candy. I like them, although others I know don’t. Everything was hot, fresh, and well packaged. I had asked for ketchup for the onion rings and tots, and instead of a little packet, I was given a small lidded container full of it. Nice. Other than the inexplicable wait, this visit reflects what I have come to expect from Sonic: Fresh and hot, well made and high quality food. It’s always a good«Go to» when the need for a take home burger arises. I would highly recommend.

Impulse thought while in Oklahoma City: Wow a drive-in; I haven’t been to a drive-in for many years; none around home(Wausau, WI); I love onion rings; Yeah, I’ll try their onion rings. The place is well lit on Meridian. The music is loud but not too loud. Right before my order arrives there is one of my favorite oldies playing: Janis Joplin singing Me and Bobby McGee. Cool; real cool. When the car-hop arrives she’s singing along. Yes this is definitely cool. I ask if she has ever heard of Big Brother and the Holding Company. She has not. I had two of my favorite comfort foods. Actually the onion rings were not bad at all: 4 of 5 stars: moist tasty onions and medium light crispy deep fried coating. Ahhh, the cholesterol and saturated fat starts to pulse through my arteries. Add a little salt: there goes my blood pressure too. The chocolate malt was fairly good: 3 of 5 stars. I’m cruising’ now. To surrender to my guilt and have some semblance of healthy food I had the grilled chicken wrap with«light» ranch dressing. It was bland, almost watery but the chicken was moist and there was a good amount in the wrap. Hey, I’m in a generous mood: 2 of 5 stars. The young woman working there as the car-hop was efficient and fast and pleasant. This would be a fun place to bring kids and even have them get out to sit at one of the tables.
