Wingate By Wyndham

I’m a frequent business traveler and have enjoyed staying at Wingate over the years because they seem to have a culture and focus on business customers. One of the features I’ve always liked is usually near the front desk there is a screen that has the weather, local events, etc. During my stay in Oklahoma City from June 16 – 18 I had a very unpleasant experience with the level of professionalism present from one of the front desk associates. I went down earlier tonight to print off my boarding pass from the screen that I was referring to earlier. After I hit the print button I asked the associate working the front desk, Amber, where the printer is for the boarding passes I just printed. She said she didn’t know she had never been asked that question before and continued doing paperwork. I was a little perturbed but decided to just go in the business office and print off my boarding passes there. A little bit later I went back down and spoke to the same associate, Amber, about getting a shuttle to the airport the next morning. She had to take a phone call and it sounded as if the woman who called down was unhappy with her room. I quickly picked up on the rude comments she made offering excuses not solutions. At the end of the phone call I was very surprised and offended when she slammed the phone down and said «fu&@ing bitch» and then looked at me and said I’m sorry about that where were we. I requested the shuttle and went back to my room. This has definitely changed my perception of the Wingate as a brand.

This was a very pleasant and positive experience during a business conference. Beautiful room and extremely comfortable beds. Super clean. We loved the daily housekeeping and quiet accommodations. Downside: ugly pool and spa area in a stuffy, hot room. Didn’t bother to use spa thinking we’d be hot and sweaty in about a minute; not worth the trouble. We heard the sauna was a winner, though. One more downside: in the gym, 2 of the 4 machines were «out of order». Front desk woman said they were going to be replaced… no telling how long that could take. It would have been nice to be able to work out some of the travel kinks but it was not to be… and that room seemed hot and stuffy, too.
But the room, beds, cleanliness and breakfast were TOPS.
