Carnitas dry… tostada dry … double trouble enchiladas acceptable … Iggy’s hot pot pretty good. Service was sub par we had to ask to get anything drinks chips etc. I can’t say I’d recommend this place but I can say I won’t be coming back. It only got two stars for the hot pot.

Food was amazing as always and some of the best service I’ve had at any restaurant lately. Better than 5 stars

Good mainstream Mexican food with fun local sports team lizard décor. My family eats here often and we prefer dining on the bar side. Very family friendly for kids and parents. Unfortunately service is not always good but they are trying. Seems to me they are understaffed too often resulting in inconsistent service reviews. Fix this and you have a 4 – 5 star Iguana.

I love Salty Iguana but unfortunately not a huge fan of this location. The food is very similar to the other locations which is nice to have consistency. In my opinion, slightly overpriced for the quality with entrees $ 10−14/person for dinner. My main reason for only giving 2 stars is the service. This has been a concern every time I have visited. On our last visit, the waitress made several mistakes and slow. Instead of apologizing, she made us feel at fault. Hoping it improves because I would like to see this location stay open!

I’ve been to Salty Iguana on numerous occasions. The service is always terrible, but it’s very convenient, and the food is okay. After my most recent visit, I will not be returning. There was a new waiter who was majorly undertrained. Which, most of their staff is. However, I ordered a cheese enchilada platter with no onions. Simple enough right? I received cream cheese and pork enchiladas. So I sent my food back, and it took 30 minutes to get new food made. My whole family was done eating by the time my meal arrived. Once I got my meal it was awful. It was like they added seasoning and water instead of their sauce, it was literally soup. There was way too much cheese. I’m a girl who likes cheese, but I had to check to make sure there was actually a tortilla. My table had ordered drinks right when we ordered, and didn’t receive them until we asked for the check, and by that time we were ready to leave. Very frustrated we sat and finished our beverages. The most annoying thing was that the manager was no where to be seen. No one came to ask how our meal was, and when they screwed up our order and failed to bring drinks, the manager didn’t even come to apologize. The worst part was right before we were leaving, we all saw a roach crawling up the wall… Needless to say we did not eat our leftovers! Terrible food, awful service, and they have roaches. Definitely will not be back!

This is the most boring Mexican food I’ve eaten. I could have nodded off in the middle of dinner. Whether you get beef or chicken, the point is irrelevant — both meats are not seasoned — ATALL. Both meats taste like they’ve been boiled so long the only flavour left is «barely meat». There is no seasoning in the side dishes, either. The salsa tastes… very tomato-y, but not like salsa. I get more flavour out of microwave Mexican food. I feel bad for the waitstaff serving these bland, flavourless dishes.

The blandest«Tex-Mex» food I’ve ever had. Chicken tasted like it came from a can. The black beans had no flavor whatsoever. We usually go to Jose Peppers and their food actually has flavor and real tomatoes in their salsa(SI’s salsa tastes like just tomato sauce and chili powder) I added salt and pepper to everything and it didn’t even help.

Crispy chips, fresh salsa laced with cilantro, and deep-fried chicken tacos with ripe avacado. What more could one want? Fabulouso!

Two friends and I went to Salty Iguana on a Saturday afternoon. We sat for about 5 minutes before a teenager dropped off some chips and salsa. We sat for another 10 minutes before my friend said we should just leave. At that exact moment, our waitress finally came to our table. We were clearly ready to order since we had plenty of time to decide. We order our drinks and food and the waitress was very apologetic for our wait. When our waitress finally brought our drinks, she failed to bring enough straws. We waited a couple more minutes for a straw. But wait… our waitress brought over queso dip on the house for our troubles, which we all appreciated and enjoyed. Once our food came we let the waitress know that none of us were given any silverware. She commented«You guys really weren’t taken care of.» Our point exactly. She let us know that all of the wait staff had been«cut» before a large amount of people came in. So they had all thought that they were going home and must have just stopped paying attention to the room full of people. I had a cream cheese burrito with ground beef, which was quite good. I’m not sure if I would go back to the Salty Iguana. But I’d have to hope that the terrible service was just a one-time thing.

The only reason I come to this place is that I work nearby. I’ve never thought the quality was outstanding, but convenient. Pros Salsa is decent Service is good They have healthy options with nutritional values Cons Dishes lack flavor Their tortilla chips are too thick For the quality it is overpriced. My most recent visit I ordered a salad to go and the portion for($ 10) was about the size of a side salad. I felt for $ 10 it should be loaded with chicken and veggies. At least more veggies would’ve been nice(they do use organic greens). The quality of my $ 10 side salad was good though, but not worth the $ 10. I can get more bang for my buck at the hyvee salad bar, chipotle, or smashburger.

I don’t understand why it only has 3 stars. This is the best Mexican food I ever have. especially the shrimp roll, bravo! My husband and I could eat tow dishes, very big dish! Price is reasonable. Nice experience had dinner there. Strongly recommend!

I eat here at least twice a month and always order the same dish. One visit I decided to try something else, it was OK but I didn’t care for it. Our waitress checked on us numerous times and was concerned that I hardly touched my plate. I assured her that the food tasted fine, it just wasn’t as good as my usual choice. Within minutes the manager was at our table with a $ 25 gift certificate to use on my next visit(well over the cost of my meal) and removed my food from the bill. Wow — great service and way over & above what I expected! Food is fresh, fast and tasty. Staff is friendly and accommodating — I’ll continue to eat here!

I don’t understand at all how anyone could think this is good food. The chips were stale. The salsa tasted like a can of tomato sauce, and the chicken in my enchilada I am fairly positive was canned chicken from Sam’s Club or Costco. The beans were dried and crunchy on top like they’d been heated up too long, and the rice was so overcooked I could barely eat it. Good Mexican food seems rather hard to come by within the area, but this is just absolutely awful.

I have a discount card from one of the local schools so we decided to try Salty Iguana before the show Saturday night. Without the discount card, I don’t know if I would have went here considering all the Mexican options Olathe has. I have to say, I am glad I did. The place was packed. We could either wait for a table or sit in the bar area which had some spots open. We opted for the bar and took the fact that the place was packed as a good sign(I don’t know if this is normal or because of the storms and many people being without electricity.) The chips and salsa were ok. The chips came out warm and the salsa had nice flavor. It is mild and really doesn’t have any heat. I decided on the Big Iguana to get some variety. The first thing I tried was the taco. It was a fantastic taco. Packed with meat, not overfilled with toppings, and the blue shell had nice flavor. After taking a bite of the taco and before trying anything else, I was already wishing I had picked a taco platter. The enchilada sauce was nice. It was mild, but had really good flavor. The tamale was also good. Stuffed with well seasoned pork and not a ton of the masa. The masa could have had a little more flavor. The beans and rice were a real disappointment. The beans lacked seasoning and were undercooked. The rice had a strong tomato flavor that was not pleasing to me. Compared to the mains, the sides were terribly disappointing. The service was good. The bar area seemed pretty packed and our waitress was running like mad. There were two people to cover the entire bar, including making drinks for the restaurant and the 5 – 6 tables there. Considering how busy it was, they needed more help. I have to say that the two working did a fantastic job working together. It wasn’t about who had what table or what section, they helped each other and were more concerned about taking care of the customers. Huge kudos on that. Things may have been a little slow at times, but not at the fault of these two! The décor is a mix of cool and well done and absolutely tacky and overdone. The iguanas on the windows and bar look good, the iguanas all over the walls are horrendous. We didn’t have drinks, but from the amount of fishbowl margaritas going out and overhearing a few people comment, it appears they do a good job with the margaritas. I will definitely return, but I would probably order from the ala cart menu and skip the sides.

NOTGAYFRIENDLY!!! DONOTGO!!! I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We were treated like second class citizens and completely disrespected. The service was horrible and they typed GAY on the ticket to identify one of our tables!

I have really tried to like this place. The iguana dip does not disappoint, but it seems that’s about it. The food lacks flavor in my opinion. As far as Mexican food, I’ve had better…
