This place is a hidden gem. I’ve been here a few times before for Korean food which was always great, especially the daegu maewoontang. Today I tried sushi here and by far it was one of the best sushi experiences I’ve ever had. The sashimi was very fresh. I also got the Hurricane and Caterpillar rolls. They were so fresh and had such an amazing texture and burst of flavor that I was savoring every single bite! The chef is very quick at making the sushi/sashimi which is a bonus. Topped off this amazing meal with green tea ice cream which was delicious and tasted of authentic green tea flavor with a soft and creamy texture. The waitresses were all very courteous and friendly too! Would highly recommend this place!

The baddest sushi I ever ate — in a bad way The salmon and tuna seemed defrosted. They were both fatty and not trimmed properly. Bad experience Hot tea served in a plastic cup

One of the best Korean restaurant you can find in the area. I have been at Dake at least once a week. Chirashi Sushi was my favorite as well as the Godol Bebop. Extensive menu… online menu did not list all available Korean dishes. Great place… great host!

We were looking for Korean BBQ in the area and found this place. The female server and male chef were excellent(husband wife combo?) The food was also excellent. We will definitely be back. Only disappointment was no Korean wine or hibachi style cooking. Otherwise a great night!

I’ve been here 3 – 4 times but it’s the first time writing review. Restaurant is on the smallish side, server lady is very friendly, and food is great! I’m really happy I don’t have to drive 25mins-1hr(depending on traffic) to flushing to get good korean food. Rolls are great, love their sashimi bibimbap, my kids love tonkatsu, their other korean soups are good, too! I’m definitely recommending this place to anyone looking for a decent korean restaurant in li.

Everything we ordered was just ok. Nothing more! The pieces of sashimi are huge & should really be cut in half. Sushi Chef forgot to cut the skin off the mango slices on the Mango Avocado roll. On top of which they were extremely slow with additional business; we had to ask 3 times for a soup spoon which they forgot to bring for the Shrimp Tempura Udon Soup! The decorative lettuce on our sushi plate was brown! How about just NOT use it??? Really the only good I can mention is that our waitress was very polite!

Ordered the seafood udon for lunch. Udon noodles were thick, gummy. Dish was a little salty, generous portion of seafood but ordered the dish mainly for the noodles. I enjoyed them. Ordered take out but interior of restaurant is small, clean, not very loud at lunch.

Nice small place, menu items are a japanese and korean fusion so it makes for a good selection. Sashimi platter is fresh. hamachi and abalone favorite. Also had a kimchi jigae and soba noodles that were good. If youre feeling adventurous, try going for the snail appetizer. Everything was good. but the best thing in house that made my meal stand out from othr restaurants was the seafood pancake… thinly crusted, not too greasy, crispy on edges with a good filling of freshly sliced scallion and nicely done squid. Must try.

Best sushi in Plainview/old Bethpage. Better than kumo, Hama, you name it. It gets forgotten because it’s not as centrally located, but the food is better.

Accidentally ran into this place while biking the Bethpage biking route. Bibimbap was delicious. All the patrons were Korean… that should speak for itself

The Hot Bipimbap was very good as was the Mango Avocado and Spicy Tuna Rolls. The place is not fancy but clean and simple. The wait staff was not rude but not very friendly. It was my first time there and no one was very warm and inviting, nor did anyone go out of their way to check in on us which would make me question whether they valued the patronage. The pricing was very fair, however. Overall a good experience.

Extensive menu of Korean and Japanese Sushi and rolls. surprising for a small place in a strip mall. Ordered sushi and an bunch of rolls to take out and the portions were larger than what I am used to in the local restaurants. Everything was fresh and tasted great. I will be back to try some of the Korean items and soup for the cold nights.

If you are expecting a fancy upscale sushi restaurant then you will be rather disappointed. It is small — in a shopping center and inside it is rather bland. I would suggest them to do a remodel to make the inside look more modern. The sushi is alright. Not bad but nothing spectacular. The plus side is that the chef whips up the sushi very quick… In less than half the time most sushi chefs I’ve seen take. The wait staff is extremely warm and friendly. I would recommend this place for a quick lunch when you’re on the go and in the area or if you are getting take out… But if you are looking for a great sit down sushi dining experience, you will probably be disappointed here.

The waitress called me «Tuna Boy!»…well its what I pre-ordered and she delivered to the table. They have a nice variety of Lunch specials w/good pricing. We work in the area and figured we’d try Sushi Dake out for lunch today. 5 of us went but 4 of us pre-ordered. The food pre-ordered and ordered at the table we delivered very quick. EVerything looked fresh and nicely plated. I enjoyed the Tuna Boy(L-17) $ 8.50 — 4 pcs of Tuna Sushi and 1 Tuna with Avocado Roll. Can’t say enough how fresh the fish was. This to me is a quality lunch place especially that the service is quick, pricing is reasonable and its close to work.

The sushi is incredibly fresh. The main hostess/server is super sweet and attentive every time. The man who makes the sushi is friendly and does a phenomenal job. The place is small and often crowded, usually with hungry golfers from Bethpage state Park who enjoy the traditional cuisine. The place is clean and the ambiance is pleasantly-no-nonsense. The food speaks for itself. I only eat the sushi and menu items but they appear to have some other packages for parties that want more traditional Korean dishes. The system they have works!

This is me and my hubby’s favorite restaurant in our neighborhood for sushi!!! It’s 5min walk from my home and we go at least once a week when we have craving for sashimi. The fish is always FRESH and only get the good quality sashimi. The owner always greats us as we walk in like a family. I tried the dinner dish for the first time few month ago and I regret not having them before. the fish egg tang is amazing… the eggs are fresh and soft.yam. spicy squid with pork belly is nice good spicy dish… just the way I like it. This is like our 2nd home. feels like eating home korean food. The couple works really hard and always smiles. makes the whole atmosphere even more cozy. For lunch special, the sashimi dupbop should be very refreshing. mixture of sashimi with vegetable. I usually order one and share with my hubby. it’s big enough portion for 2. I recommend this place to any sushi lovers~~~

Now the experience I had here was different than most in that I actually ate with other Koreans when at a Korean/Japanese restaurant. Moreover, my relatives were regulars here or at least knew the staff, which undoubtedly creates a higher level of service and food quality. I say this because were were given hot tea, miso soup and banchan. Now this could’ve all been paid for but I didn’t get that feeling. In my experience, geting these is pretty uncommon for lunch but that could also be based on the korean restaurants I go to. Anyways, I ordered a kimchi jigae or soup. The soup was fine but the pork they added had pieces of fat as big as the meat. My relatives ordered bibimbop, a hurricane roll, spicy bbq pork(daeji bulgogi), and some noodle dish. The daeji was really good but that’s my favorite of all korean food so probably not a good point of measurement. The décor was pretty basic and the restaurant size was pretty small maybe 12 tables or so but we were the only ones there for Sunday lunch. Everything seemed very good but nothing was really outstanding. Banchan was about 7 dishes and there was plenty of food all around. I can only hope that the service quality is this good when non-koreans eat here but I would doubt it. A pleasant experience. Prices were in line with mid-quality sushi/korean restaurants.
