We had a horrible experience here yesterday. Our waitress seemed stoned and not at all interested in being there.
Our food order came out incorrect. By the time it was fixed, my husbands food was cold.
We definitely will not be back.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have 5 stars! Eggs Benedict and chipped beef are to die for especially with a mimosa or Bloody Mary.

Daddy’s is our go-​to diner for good food at a reasonable price. Service is excellent and the menu is quite varied. Seven of us had a very good lunch and wonderful service. We’ll be back for sure!

I grew up in Oldsmar, and only now live five-​ish miles away in Tampa, and today was my first time dining. Like every other recent review, I can attest, it is definitely an older crowd, but for a diner-​y breakfast with a quick in and out, I am okay with it. I like good food, I love fancy brunches, but the ol’ standard 3-​egg omelet with home fries, and toast also has a special place in my heart.
Hostess was great. Server was fine, not overly friendly, not rude… just meh.
Food was tasty. Diner-​style in a nicer spot than your typical greasy spoon. I wouldn’t say it will become our local weekend breakfast spot, but I’d go again, and wouldn’t mind trying dinner sometime.

First of all, this isn’t a place I would normally choose to go because it is really more of a senior citizen hang out. However, my in-​laws like going here for birthdays when we have a big group so that is why we were there. I would say that the biggest compliment I can give is that their servers are great and they always do a wonderful job with our big group. It is not an easy group, and I think the servers are probably some of the best you will find.
The food is good too and portions are big. The menu is pretty traditional, like what you would find at a home cooking restaurant or things you might make at home, nothing too different. They have daily specials as well. I typically get either the fried fish and chips, because I don’t make that at home and they do a good job, or the grilled chicken Cesar. My husband usually gets the wings or sometimes pork chops. They make a good French onion soup too, which I had yesterday with my salad.
They also have a bar on the other side of the dining room. There’s a tv there, which I discovered one time when my in-​laws planned dinner during a playoff football game. I was thankful for that and kept going to check for updates. Also, members of the family will often get a beer with their dinner.
I would say this is a good place to go with the family, especially if you have older or picky relatives who like traditional American standbys, the old favorites.

Good food and good service. Surprisingly good food. The seafood pasta was the best I’ve ever had. The Captain ‘s plater was plentiful and hot. Don’t miss homemade blue cheese dressing.

I absolutely love the breakfasts here! Large portions, super yummy, and reasonable prices. Service is not the greatest but the awesome tasting breakfast and reasonable prices make it well worth it.

The customer service was great. The kitchen was extremely slow and once we got the food it was below average.

This is our go-​to brunch place over the past year or so. After being disappointed with long waits at that busy Sunday 11 am to noon at nearly every other place, we came across Daddy’s Grill. Although it can get really busy, we haven’t had to wait more than 5 minutes before getting in the door.
The food itself is inexpensive and a decent variety of food that tastes like home cooking. Lately I have been ordering the Country Fried Steak and Eggs, with two eggs, breakfast potatoes and toast for 8.99. My wife usually orders the Corn Beef Hash with two eggs for 7.99. The portions are huge and it can be difficult to finish the entrees. I find the food to be well made and not too greasy. It comes out fast and service is friendly.

Mediocre dinner food. I ordered the steak Delmonico. It tasted like it was thawed from a deep freezer burn. No seasoning at all. My daughter ordered chicken Alfredo. She was not happy. Bland food. My husband’s burger was rare when he asked for well done. They took the patty off of his burger and recooked it. Brought it back out and onto his bread. I was horrified. First and last time at this place. Upset I spent $ 58.
Do not spend your money or your time here.

This place will not win any culinary awards, but for the neighborhood bar and grill, it works. Not fancy, the menu won’t win an originality award, but the friendly service, reasonable prices, and reliable meals make this place an easy place on a weeknight when you are tired after work. The clientele is older, but some families are patrons too. Portions are large too.

I ate breakfast here with a family member this morning. The food was alright, and the prices are very reasonable, but service was painfully slow. I ordered a bowl of oatmeal, and it took more than 20 minutes to arrive. They weren’t that crowded, and they seemed to have an abundance of staff on hand, so I’m not sure what the problem was. I would consider going back, but they’ve got to do something about the quality of service.

This place is great for Breakfast. But a disaster for Dinner. BE WARNED! The seafood is like eating rubber and the staff is «let’s just say they are not high level service servers» Never will I go there for dinner again! And side note to the owner… Michelle needs training on her communication skills. My 4 yr old niece is more observant and detail oriented. Just putting it out there…

This is a nice restaurant to enjoy some basic, hearty comfort food. Nothing fancy, flaming or sparkling, just standard chow.
My wife selected Grilled Pork Chops with green beans and yellow rice, and it was as if she cooked it at home. My Captain’s Platter of fried shrimp, sea scallops, clams, cod and fries was good, but not «Legendary Seafood» as the menu promised. The entrée dishes were not bad at all, but nothing made us think, ‘Well have to bring friends here!“
One suggestion to the management: cut the Carrot Cake. I don’t mean cut it into a different size, I mean cut it off the selection list. It was dry, stale, and tasteless and I don’t think it ever had a chance even when it was first made so long ago.
The two big pluses were the quick and very friendly service by Ashlee L, and the fact that my wife and I felt like kids amongst the clientele (I’m 58 and my wife is 57, if you get my drift.)

This place is a classic, old school restaurant, as several other reviewers have mentioned. The food is actually cooked there (rather than being frozen and reheated, or out of a bag/​box/​can). The green beans are fresh. The food tastes good and it’s not that expensive. I love it.
I’ve ordered: the burger, fish and chips, fried shrimp, BLT. All have been fresh, well cooked and tasty.
I’m surprised by the bad reviews — they all seem to be service related, but I’ve been here over a dozen times and have never had bad service. I’d chalk it up to being between shifts, or just a bad day.

There was a long wait but they were crazy busy. The service was great. We were there for breakfast on Sunday. The breakfast was amazing and the portions were large.
I’m looking forward to trying lunch/​dinner.

This place is near where I work so we go here from time to time. I’m always happy when we go to Daddy’s. But I will warn you, if you are a person who needs bells and whistles with everything you eat, this is not the place for you.
What Daddy’s is an Old School Restaurant that is most concerned with TASTE and COST… both of which are very, very good here. The food is above average and the cost is shockingly LOW by today’s standards.
The last time I was here I kept is very simple with the French Dip Sandwich and French Fries… really, really good. Simple, flavorful and cheap as hell for a non-​fast food joint. I’ve had several other dishes here and everything has ranged from pretty good to extremely good.
The service can be a little hit or miss depending on who you get, and things can get especially shaky with they get kinda busy. But if you are looking for a non-​chain place that is family run and truly OLD SCHOOL then Daddy’s is a great fit.
I will eat here frequently and I’m really rooting for a place like this to make it in our goofy 21^st Century economy.

I totally agree with Sam Q’s review — this is a comfortable restaurant serving solid food — reminds me of mom and pops restaurants of my youth. I ordered blackened grouper, baked potato, side salad, and green beans. The green beans looked like mushy canned beans but they were delicious — caramelized onions provided some sweetness and there were some fresh green beans mixed in (craving them already — ha!). Blackened had some kick and I love me some homemade ranch dressing — hurray! BF ordered New Yorker burger (blue cheese and bacon) and it was great — hand formed burger cooked perfectly, not too much blue cheese and plenty of bacon.
Server was slow and a little awkward — maybe was her first night working at the restaurant? She tried and hopefully will improve with time. Hope to bump up my rating to 4 stars on my next visit :)
