Absolutely love this place. Food and alcohol is priced reasonably. They have live bands quite often. I visit here frequently and would recommend it to anyone.

Mike Alstott, former RB for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, owns the place. Rumbas is a great casual place for fresh seafood. The Blackened Hogfish is great. Invoice the Jamaican Greens and Coconut rice as sides.

I searched Unilocal for a restaurant and found Rumba’s based on other Unilocal reviews. I was not disappointed. I got the trio platter, 2 ribs 5 wings and 3 large fried shrimp. You also get 2 sides, I got the greens and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, except the potatoes were not very warm. The greens had bacon and onions, very good! Salads and mini cornbread muffins also come with the meal. At the end the waitress asked if we wanted a water to go, I have never been asked that, I thought that was exceptional service. I would recommend.

I went here after on a random weekday and it was fabulous. The rum cake was amazing!!! I also got the rasta pasta and it was good. If you go for the early bird special, you get a smaller portion. It was the perfect size. The salad is also very good. The biscuits were okay. I would definitely go again

My daughter invited me to Rumba on Friday evening and when we got there we was sitted within 5 minutes. It was very busy but the server was on point with our refreshments, appetizer, and our meal. Coconut shrimp was delicious. Kiddos to the chef.

Any Baystar Restaurant restaurant is almost a sure hit. This restaurant is well appointed with a savvy menu that is almost sure to please almost any taste. Our server was a bit inexperienced but was willing and capable. The fresh fish was Hog fish. It was served with a spring roasted vegetable mix which was all amazing. Pricing was acceptable. This is a sure hit if your looking for something in the area. Another strong recommendation is Island Way in Clearwater Beach. No disappointments guaranteed! Enjoy!

Actually the family had mixed opinion. the consensus was 3.5. Our server, Elise, was absolutely wonderful. The beer was cold. The food was just okay. My jerk chicken was room temp. The sides were also lukewarm. My wife’s mahi mahi was great.

Went here with out of town guests for the 1st time this week. I really liked the atmosphere/bar/outdoor dining area. Restaurant is clean & comfortable. I ordered the island shrimp & rice bowl. I asked for jerk seasoning on the shrimp. The seasoning was WAY to strong for me! Despite the spiciness my meal was delicious! Other people in my group ordered coconut shrimp, coconut mahi mahi, Cesar salad & mojito Cuban sandwich, all of which were good. Generous portions and fair prices.

Really great jerk-flavored wings here! Never been here before but was quite impressed with the wings. Can’t speak on any other menu items. I like the breezy, open-air atmosphere and drink prices aren’t too crazy. Friendly and quick bartenders who go outta their way for you. They have me hooked so far and I’ll try more things and post it.

Place is not too bad. Ordered pineapple rum chicken but it came in small portion :(…the drinks was ok and good part it comes with two glass for one order. The calamari was ok as along with the dip comes, the only thing is little pricey for the appetizer. Did not get the best of the place so I have to knock down some stars.

IFYOUAREINCLEARWATERGOHERE! Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Me and my boyfriend spent like 30 minutes trying to find a seafood place for dinner but nothing seemed worth it. We ended up here and got two entrees(gruber sandwich and seafood something I can’t remember) muffins(YOUHAVETOGETTHESESOCHEAPANDSOGOOD) crab Mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, two salads and fries for $ 40. The atmosphere was so nice, servers were pleasant the they have a huge outside patio. I would recommend going between 11:30 — 5:30. They discount most of the menu items. AND they serve 2 for 1 drinks all day(2 margaritas for $ 7 like what? yes thank you) This place was great. If you want cheap but amazing seafood go here.

0 complaints = 100% satisfaction I enjoyed the ambiance, live musician, wait staff and especially the food. Between my hubby and me, we tried the smoked orange glazed chicken and the Rumba Seafood pasta. They were scrumptious. Our sides included house salad with Italian vinegarette & mango salsa; we tried the cabbage, greens, grilled veggies & sweet potatoes, everything was delicious. We will be back.

Best side dishes in town. Could have been a bit quicker getting the lunch check, but the staff was friendly.

I really enjoyed my time here. I’ve been here many times over the years. The bar is great and well stocked. This was my first time back in a few months(6 – 8) and the food tasted a bit different. Tasty but nothing amazing. The chicken did have a great smoky taste. The muffins that I used to love were super stale. I wasn’t as impressed with the food like last time but I will definitely go back and give them another try. They have a great outdoor seating area but people smoke so it’s not the best place for non smokers.

I went here last night for food and drinks. The 2−4−1 drink specials were fantastic. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer. The best part was the lemony sauce thy give you to dip. I ordered the seafood lafitte for my meal and it was so so good. And only $ 12.99 for a seafood meal, incredible deal. Came with a salad and two sides. I love frenchys so I’m. Not surprised how much I liked one of their sister restaurants.

My eldest son is an Executive Chef with lots of restaurant management experience, so we often talk about restaurants and customers. Long ago he mentioned that customers no longer can afford to give an establishment a few tries before deciding to patronize in the future. If the experience does not hit the target every time, or if the place isn’t a notch above the rest, people continue on to a competitor. Rumba is a nice place, with decent food, atmosphere and service. The problem is, it isn’t a place that my wife and I consider memorable. The food is tropical, with lots to choose from, but the taste, quality and portions are all pretty standard. Not bad, just… okay. Our Server, Nicole C, was exceptional. She was very personable, friendly and kept things moving. She was a pleasure from start to finish. The few complimentary muffins were a nice little start to the meal, but the starter salad was not much to talk about: plain and basic. My wife had the Pineapple Rum Chicken and I ordered the Island Seafood Platter, which consisted of kabobs of grilled fish on a stick, a crab cake and a few coconut shrimp and fried shrimp. Lots of potential here, but everything needed a kick in the taste area.
The best part of the meal was the Coconut Cream Cake with vanilla ice cream. Very nice. I think if the chefs, cooks and staff all sat down and tasted everything on the menu, a few tweaks could be tried and I’ll bet the results would be much tastier fare for the customers.
Worth a try!

Not sure what is going on with this place but I brought my parents here and all of our meals, across the board, were pretty bad. My filet was cold and tough and the fish was undercooked; my dad’s BBQ platter was luke-warm and smothered in way too much of their very strong sauce; my mom ordered the ½ chicken and it was a sloppy overcooked mess that she thought tasted like lighter fluid. Manager did come over and take the chicken off our bill because my mom complained but my father and I were too disappointed to mention how horrible our meals were. Noticed that it was not at all busy at 7 pm which is unusual for restaurants in this area — perhaps this has going downhill for a while now? No plans to revisit anytime soon and very disappointed.

Only thing missing from this Rumba island bar is a water view. It is located in a strip mall in Oldsmar, next to Salt Rock Tavern with a Tijuana flats on other side on Tampa rd. There is a nice outdoor patio and bar if you can stand the heat. The major flaw here is an open wall that brings the heat and flies indoors. Despite the flaws, the drink specials are all day and that is awesome! I had the 2 – 41 rum drink and it was yummy. Corn muffins served were small but a welcome change from the usual bread. Lunch specials are available until 5:45 daily. I ordered the salmon croquette that comes with asparagus and a hollandaise sauce on top. This comes with two sides. The garlic sweet potatoes were good and the veggie medley came with broccoli, onions, peppers, zucchini and carrots. More than enough food at decent price. Lots of interesting food offerings will lead me here again!

I liked the place, but had to knock off a star because of flies coming in from the open air bar close to the dining room. It’s a great concept, but real bad idea and was wondering how many of the flies might have ended up in the kitchen and in the food. I had the ribs and the were very good, but a bit too fatty and really greasy. The veggies and potatoes were both real good. They also gave six complementary muffins that were very yummy, but you have to pay another $ 1 for an additional six of them… real bummer!!! My grandson got a bacon cheeseburger that had some real bad tasting bacon on it and was mostly fat and the burger wasn’t cooked to medium, it was more like med rare or almost rare and he chose not to finish it. My wife really liked her salmon, veggies and sweet potatoes and had nothing bad to say about the food. Out server was pretty good and attentive, but not sure if I’d go back, unless the bar and fly area were taken care of.
