Meat had quite a bit of crispy pieces, not my style but some people enjoy the bark. The rest of the meat was pretty tender and the sauce had good flavor.

2.5 stars I’m kind of disappointed in my experience. The place had that hole-in-the-wall look that makes you think you’re going to get some great food. The smell of pit smoke when I entered was amazing. BUT, the brisket was kind of bland, no smokey flavor. And the brisket sandwich was swimming in BBQ sauce, such that 1) I couldn’t eat it as a sandwich, but had to use a fork, and 2) I had to dig around to find a chunk of meat that wasn’t baptized in sauce(so I could see if the meat was any good). Sauce should complement BBQ meat… add to it… not cover it up. Moreover, the sauce was only so-so. Bottom line: I’m bummed. I’m from Texas and VERY picky about my Mexican food and BBQ; my search for good BBQ in the Tampa area continues…

The meat was tougher than tough, they were out of mac & cheese, and their other sides we weird… The beans were spiced with cinnamon or something, and the Clow slaw was vinegar and mayo based. I don’t believe that the meat is actually smoked, there is no pit smell in the parking lot.

Based on the rave reviews and a recommendation, my wife and I loaded up on $ 40 of take-out, hoping to enjoy what everyone said was the best around. Regretfully, we tossed the entire batch after attempting each item. The pulled pork was clearly loaded with chunks of fat, and was mushy. The ribs had a taste of lighter fluid. The beans were straight out of the can. The cole slaw was just bad, as if it was left out too long. The gentleman waiting on us was a really nice, and couldn’t have been friendlier. Unfortunately, we’ll not be a return customer.

Before I am a Floridan, I was a Memphian, I was lucky to try out many BBQ joints at my beloved Memphis. Surprisingly, Georgia Boy’s BBQ at Oldsmar is on par with those I liked. Georgia Boy is about 400 feet away from Oldsmar Library. Unlike most of BBQ place I have been to, Geogia Boy is more like a shack. There are no air-conditions. The indoor temperature is above 96 degree. All meat are cooked on a large charcoal grill inside the restaurant. Honestly, I was a bit surprised to see the condition of this place. However, I like their food very very much. I ordered meat combo today that cost $ 16 with tip. The combo includes beef brisket, pork ribs and collard green. Both meat were very well prepared without overflow with grease or seasoning. Ribs were tender and flavorful. Beef brisket were not dry or tough to eat. They sold out BBQ chicken today. I was advised to order in advance as they run out of chicken fast. All meat comes with your choice of home made BBQ sauce, either hot or mild. They close on Monday and Friday. If you need a quick fix of BBQ, this place can definitely fill the spot. Support the local business.

Awesome BBQ. We got the BBQ chicken and pulled pork. Chicken was by far my favorite — excellent flavor and so moist! Collard greens were really good, too. Baked beans were different with a strong cinnamon taste, but we all really enjoyed them. Highly recommend!

After 15 years in the area, I found my new barbecue place. I had ribs and sausage tonight and both were excellent. This is no kind of fine dining place. It’s a down home home in the wall. I can’t wait to try everything else on the menu. Solomon(the chief cook and bottle washer) is very friendly.

I’m from California so my rating might be slightly biased. But I had the beef brisket which he only makes on Friday and Saturday and it was delicious! Some of the fat hadn’t cooked completely out but the rub and bbq sauce worked perfectly together. I got the spicy bbq sauce which had the perfect blend of spicy, sweet and sour. The coleslaw was good but nothing special. However, the Mac and cheese reminded me of my fiancées step mom’s(who’s from Mississippi) Mac and cheese. Yum!

Georgia Boy’s is a great place to go for barbecue! Real wood-fired pit in the building, great sauces, delightful interesting tasting baked beans. Definitely worth finding and trying! There’s very limited seating inside and out but worth waiting for a seat if you must — or take it home with you. Highly recommend!

This place is OK. They rarely have smoked sausage and the pork is good but you do have to pick out the gristle and fat. I know it’s pork but there was so much gristle we stopped eating it at all. The sauces are great and portions are decent sizes. If they would actually have the food ready when they open for business then I would give them a better review. 4 times we have gone in asking for the smoked sausage and every time we are told its not ready yet. It makes me wonder why they even advertise things they do not have. The food we have tried is good though.

This is excellent, perfect BBQ done over an authentic pit! It’s a tiny hole in the wall place that has very limited seating inside and out, but it’s worth the gettin’! The pork melts in your mouth. The sauce is to die for. The ribs were awesome and perfectly cooked. The collard greens were perfect… Everything was delicious! We love it!
